I am full of praise for Signature Cliveden Manor for when I was there for a month of respite care. From the moment of entering, every member of staff knew my name and was smiling, kind and helpful. Friends and relatives were also made welcome. I felt very safe and catered for and was especially grateful
for the night visits. All meals were delicious and the young waiting staff were kind and patient with all the elderly residents. All the activities were fun and well organised. I am recommending Cliveden to all my friends.

My Mum is very well cared for; with dignity and respect.
She has lots of activities and stimulation provided.
She has a lovely room, and she enjoys being with others in the communal areas.

My mother is treated with dignity at all times - so many fun activities for her to be involved in and at last she has put weight on due to the delicious food she eats. I am very happy knowing she is safe and well looked after. I have regular contact with all staff on my mother's well-being.

Both my parents now live in Signature Cliveden Manor, my mother having lived there practically since it opened. The care is excellent and the atmosphere happy, contented and loving. It's a joy and a huge relief to know that they are in the best place for their needs and comfort.

I had a very pleasant stay at Cliveden Manor, Marlow and made some friends there over the weeks I was with you.
I was not happy with the meals which were mainly unappetising and often just about warm (cold).

The care home has the well-being of its residents as the number one priority. A wide range of activities including group and individual participation serve to keep residents fulfilled and entertained with plenty to look forward to. The rooms are warm and comfortable with excellent facilities throughout.
My father spent his last months here and I know that he could not have been better looked after. My mother is now a permanent resident and always says that she loves her room. If she is happy then I can’t ask any more.

My sister-in-law has only been here a short while but she has well looked after. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and caring. They listen very carefully to residents and do their best to find a solution to any problem. There are plenty of activities for those able to do them.
The rooms are
very good with all facilities and everywhere is bright and cheerful. The garden area is very pleasant.

For anyone looking for a care home, I would strongly advise them to visit Cliveden Manor. It is a very good care home. It is well run and has a happy atmosphere and all the staff whatever their status are kind and caring. It has two minibuses equipped to take wheelchairs for outings, musical entertainment
and speakers are arranged to visit and structure activities are arranged on a daily basis. It has a gated walkway around the building for exercise with plenty of seats. It also has a patio area.

My mother initially found the transition from her own home difficult and needed a lot of support and help.
The care staff and reception team could not have been more helpful and sympathetic.
She is now settled in and is thriving.

Dad has settled in well to his new surroundings. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food, although good, is a little repetitive. We hope that in time, Dad will find the confidence to partake in more activities as there is lots to do.

When entering Cliveden Manor the feeling is of warmth, friendliness. The staff always greet visitors with a smile from reception to kitchen staff. The standard of decor is a very high, well maintained and the facilities are very good e.g making tea and coffee etc.

Mam went into Cliveden Manor in September 2014 initially into assisted living but after two months she went into The Willows. The care mam receives is always unfailing, professional and warm and all the time carried out with a smile. Mam can be quite difficult at times but she is always dealt with sympathetically
and with reason. The best thing I can say to simplify my view on Cliveden Manor is that I sleep well at night knowing mam is being well looked after.

I visit Cliveden Manor once or twice a week. There is always a friendly atmosphere and all staff from the carers, kitchen staff, receptionists, activities and even the laundry staff from the carers, kitchen staff, receptionists, activities and even the laundry staff who go out of their way to help my
friend and her visitors.


I always feel welcome when I visit and would like to thank ALL the staff for their hard work.

Gabriela Smith

Job Title: General Manager

I originally come from Slovakia. I am half Slovak and half Hungarian. I moved to England in 2002.
I've worked in the care sector since 2005 and worked my way up through the ranks from Care Worker before becoming a Registered Manager in 2011. I studied Economics, Management, Marketing and Accountancy. I never thought I will end up in care, but I really enjoy it and maybe it has something to do with my mother who was a nurse in intensive care and later managed day centre. She always told me and my brother stories about her work. As a child I used to visited day centre she managed, and I enjoyed spending my time with elderly people from my childhood. It is rewarding to support people to continue to have a high quality of life.


I've worked in the care sector since 2005 and worked my way up through the ranks from Care Worker before becoming a Registered Manager in 2011.


I've worked for several care companies including private, social services and not-for-profit care homes and managed two domiciliary agencies. I hold Level 5 in Health and Social Care, Level 3 in Dementia Leadership, Level 3 in Palliative Care, Level 2 in Mental Health, and Level 2 in Nutrition and Health.


I worked at Esher Manor/Avery for 5 years and I transferred to Cliveden Manor/Avery in August 2023.

Job Title: Clinical Deputy Manager

I was born in Sunderland, however, my family emigrated to South Africa when I was a child, but I never forgot my roots and always knew I would return one day. I just didn’t know it would take me so long.


I completed my schooling and I enrolled into nursing. I qualified as a general Nurse, working a lot in the elderly people’s wards, after a few years I transferred to paediatrics and ultimately settled in the Critical care units.


In 1990 I continued my training by specialising in Medical and Surgical Critical care with a speciality in Cardio-thoracic nursing. During my nursing career, I worked my way up from a Staff Nurse to a Deputy Nursing Manager of a 240-bed private hospital.


I returned to England in August 2018 and obtained my NMC pin by starting as a pre-registered nurse, completing the required English test, Nursing test and OSCE. I was lucky to be working within the Adult Social care environment and was supported and mentored by my colleagues and obtained my PIN in November 2018.

Following my successful enrolment with the NMC I quickly worked my way up to becoming a Clinical Deputy Manager at a Care Home in London.


In 2022 I was chosen to be a Digital Champion for NCL, this role has allowed me to become involved in all the digital aspects of ASC and allowed me to share knowledge within our settings and obtain funding for the home to move from paper-based documents to digital technology. I am currently enrolled on the Level 5 Leadership and Management Programme and believe that together we can all achieve our goals.


On my days off I love spending time with my children and grandchildren, reading a good book or just taking walks.
I am very committed to ensuring that our residents are at the centre of all that we do and are treated with care, dignity, and respect. I am always willing to listen to their concerns, or just have a friendly chat.
I joined Cliveden Manor in March 2024.

Louise Palmer

Job Title: Client Liaison Manager

Joined: 2020

I joined Avery Health Care in 2020. Initially, I worked in Ascot Grange Home and I transferred to Cliveden Manor in August 2023.


I have been in sales for most of my career.


I worked with those who were requiring support in the property market and wishing to downsize which comes with personal involvement.


Having had to research a care home for my mother-in-law, I realised that the role of Customer Liaison Manager was one that I wished to pursue.

I thoroughly enjoy working in this environment, helping to support those looking for care or a lifestyle change for their family, it is rewarding to get to know the residents in such lovely surroundings and with the dedicated staff.

I joined Cliveden Manor as a Dementia Care Manager in September 2023.


I previously worked as the Registered Manager at a Residential Home in Oxfordshire.


I worked there for 10 years, working my way up from care assistant through various roles and I was in the role of manager for over 4 years.


I have worked in the elderly care sector since 2011 and I knew straight away that it was a career that I wanted to follow.


I particularly have a passion for working with those living with dementia and doing all I can to enrich their lives.
My mother-in-law was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2009 and sadly passed away 6 years later. Helping to care for her made me realise that it was something that I wanted to do.


Cliveden Manor is a lovely home with a great reputation and I enjoy supporting my residents, family members and team members.

I started as a care supervisor and I worked my way up to Residential Care Manager in August 2023. I manage the Assisting Living Department at Cliveden Manor and I support our General Manager and Deputy Manager with the management of the home.


I am driven by ensuring all our residents are delivered exceptional person-centred care, as the residents are my priority. As the Residential Care Manager I work alongside a fantastic and committed team of carers who are equally passionate about the care we provide.
