The home is purpose-built and offers exceptional accommodation, which is affordable but of a very high standard. The team at Bentley House offers a warm welcome to all and is a care home like no other in the area. Life here at Bentley House is about making it feel like home.

The home has not one, but two outstanding restaurants with the menu being chosen by current residents. Bentley house has a cinema which is in constant use, quite often by visiting grandchildren. A large Wellbeing and Lifestyle Team provide trips out, visiting speakers, one-to-ones and activities which are again chosen by the resident committee, who meet on a regular basis.

A typical one bedroom suite offers a bedroom, separate lounge and kitchen, with a full en-suite wet room and the apartments are unique as they offer double the space of most care homes and are ideal for those wanting an extra room, or for couples who want to stay together. The home also has smaller studios for those who prefer something cosier. The apartments come unfurnished, allowing residents to bring furniture and personal items to help the settling in process significantly.

Although Bentley House has outstanding facilities, the home is all about the care it provides. Residents range from those who are relatively independent and still drive to those who require respite, full nursing, dementia or end of life care. We chose Bentley House because it didn't compare with anything else in the area. Having had a negative experience with our Nan years ago, this ticked all the boxes. Our mum had had a really tough time in hospital, and once she recovered enough, she moved to Bentley House. The staff got to know her very
well; they were interested in chatting with her and gave companionship when we couldn't visit due to Covid restrictions. If we wanted to know more detail about her medical issues, the nurses in charge would seek to find out the relevant information so that we were kept in the picture. The chef knew her favourites and would make sure she had a varied diet within the restrictions she had for her diet, even mixing different flavoured smoothies for her to keep up her strength. Mum was always made comfortable in her bed and was very well cared for. We are so glad Mum had her final months in a place where she was nurtured, treated with respect and responded to in good time. Highly recommended!

2021 was a tough year for our mum; she had a stoma bag fitted, which meant she finally needed carers to come into her home, at age 89. Then she caught shingles, and had a fall from her scooter that broke her arm, and so ended up in hospital for 2-months and unable to get out of bed. We had to make a
decision on placing her in a care home with nursing, so we looked at various homes in Ware and Hertford.
Bentley House stood out above all the others, and one of the client liaison managers made us feel that every effort would be made to welcome her and see that her every need was catered for. We made the final decision and have never regretted it. Mum is looked after so well by the nurses and carers, along with the GP. The food is excellent and to her taste, and she is undergoing physio now to help her arm recover. We visit every day, and anyone can see the residents are happy and well looked after.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Bentley House to any potential resident.

Bentley House is a beautiful home. I felt at home as soon as I arrived. The staff couldn't be more helpful and kind, especially the activity's staff and the regular care staff. I was here during the lockdown, and so there were no outings or entertainers (these were instrumental in our choosing Bentley
in the first place). We were told that no agency staff were employed, but there was a lot of agency staff during my stay. The food is excellent - also the service staff - perhaps if you increased staff pay, you would get more permanent staff. I would come to revisit.

Following a serious fall, the manager at Bentley House was both kind and sensitive as she showed my mum and us the facilities and the quality of care Bentley House has to offer.
She was clear in her communications and listened carefully to meet our needs. Once we had made our decision, she was systematic
and prompt in making it possible for my mum to start her 2-weeks respite stay.
Despite Covid restrictions, a robust system had been put in place, which still allowed me to visit my mum safely.
The rooms and facilities are beautifully appointed and clean, and sleeping in a hospital bed, allowed my mum to sleep much more comfortably. The wet room facility helped her to develop her confidence and independence again. Bentley House even provided her with a walking aid, which also helped her to regain strength during her stay. The food was good, and there were a number of individual carers who went out of their way to get to know her and make her feel welcome. Thank you so much.

Dad has been resident at Bentley House since August 2020 - arriving during COVID-19 restrictions.
The care team were incredibly reassuring at a very difficult time for the family and ensured Dad was helped to settle in over the first few weeks. Over the months of lockdown, the team have done their
very best to keep us in touch with Dad - helping with phone calls and gently encouraging Dad to get involved in social activities at Bentley House.
We have seen Dad’s mental and physical health improve over time - and are so grateful for the care and respect with which they interact with Dad every day. Now that we are able to visit again, it is just lovely to see how well the team have got to know Dad and how fond he is of his care team.
We are so grateful for the care and attention that the entire team pay to ensure residents’ and visitors’ safety during COVID - always adhering to guidelines while managing to make visits feel very special in spite of the restrictions.

All the staff at Bentley House are very friendly and most welcoming. The facilities are truly excellent and a cut above their rivals. The moving in experience for my mother was seamless and very efficient, and most importantly, Mum feels welcome and respected and is becoming part of a community and

I can not thank Bentley House enough for all they do for my mum. They are caring, considerate, compassionate and have navigated the Covid pandemic amazingly.
Living in a different country has been particularly hard over the last year, but it gives me great comfort to know that Mum is in the very best
place possible.
My mum used to love cruising, and we now joke that being at Bentley House is like being on a luxury cruise ship with a variety of activities, 5-star service and fabulous catering. The only difference is they don’t stop off at different ports!

The carers have looked after Mum extremely well. We are very pleased. Recently, she celebrated her 100th birthday, and the staff went to great lengths to make it a memorable day.

My parents moved into Bentley House together in March, and every single member of staff was so welcoming and caring towards them both. Sadly my mother was extremely frail, but they offered her outstanding palliative care in line with her wishes, and I could not have asked for more in her final days.
They continue to care for my father with such kindness, compassion and genuine interest in him and have been so kind to us too. I did a lot of research before choosing this home for my parents, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a 'home from home' for their loved one.

The last 13 months have been really tough for everyone, especially not being able to see Mum when/as often as we were doing before the pandemic. The team at Bentley House have been absolutely amazing throughout the whole 13-months, putting the resident's needs at the heart of everything they've done.
The residents have been kept safe, healthy and secure throughout. Zoom calls have been arranged for whenever we needed them - weekly, special occasions etc.


We had our first visit with Mum inside Bentley House yesterday (21st April) after a long 6-months, and her joy at being able to see us in person was immeasurable. It was a lovely 45 minutes for both her and us.


Hopefully, things will continue to improve and we can get back to visiting as we did before.

Heartfelt thanks to all at Bentley House for their safety measures at this time, coupled with the humanity of both relatives and residents. It is a very worrying time, but I have found all the staff at Bentley to be so reassuring and helpful. My husband has improved in the last 6-months. I think this

My mother-in-law has been at Bentley House for just over two years, and I cannot fault the place. The staff have been wonderful during the Covid outbreak and have done everything to make the residents feel comfortable and in touch with their relatives. We have a FaceTime call, set up by the home each
week, and more recently, we have been able to visit in person with every precaution being taken by Bentley House. The photos don't do the place justice. Standards are very high and when you enter, it's like going into a hotel. During normal times, pre-covid, you are free to use the lounge whilst visiting, make drinks and help yourself to cakes. My mum-in-law is particularly happy that we can take our dog in to visit her too. The staff are very good and respect the residents at all times. Highly recommend Bentley House.

My wife and I have been very impressed with the service that the Bentley House team have provided for my parents, who are both in their 90s. They receive round-the-clock care and live in a warm, friendly and welcoming environment. It's not their home, but it's as close as they could get to one.

I first started working in the care industry at the age of 16 years while still in college, working as a part-time Housekeeper. I started spending more time with the residents and realised my passion for care at a young age. I left college and became a full-time Care Assistant. I spent my first 10 years in care before I decided to go travelling, visiting Thailand, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia and South America over 18 months. When I returned, I worked for Sunrise Senior Living for the next 14 years developing my career from a Senior Care Assistant to an Assisted living Coordinator, then onto a Regional Care Coordinator which took me into supporting a home and I then became General Manager. I finally left Sunrise Senior Living to take an opportunity with Signature Senior Lifestyle, firstly as the General Manager at Elton House and then transferred to Bentley House. I have now worked in the care industry for 30 years and feel just as passionate about looking after our residents now as I did when I was 16 years of age.

I joined Bentley House in September 2022 coming in from a non-care background of construction and hospitality. I haven’t looked back, it has been a pleasure to work alongside my colleagues and even more of a pleasure to build friendships with our residents here. I started building sites from a young age and continued on and off until I moved to the UK from Ireland in 2012. When I initially moved over, I got into the hospitality sector and ended up running restaurants for five years. I decided to get back into construction and maintenance in 2017, managing the maintenance team in a Grade 1 listed, 150-year-old country house which operated as a hotel. I consider myself a hardworking, self-motivated and determined individual who takes pride in their work. I would regard myself as a polite, friendly person who is confident when communicating with others.
