The home is purpose-built and offers exceptional accommodation, which is affordable but of a very high standard. The team at Bentley House offers a warm welcome to all and is a care home like no other in the area. Life here at Bentley House is about making it feel like home.

The home has not one, but two outstanding restaurants with the menu being chosen by current residents. Bentley house has a cinema which is in constant use, quite often by visiting grandchildren. A large Wellbeing and Lifestyle Team provide trips out, visiting speakers, one-to-ones and activities which are again chosen by the resident committee, who meet on a regular basis.

A typical one bedroom suite offers a bedroom, separate lounge and kitchen, with a full en-suite wet room and the apartments are unique as they offer double the space of most care homes and are ideal for those wanting an extra room, or for couples who want to stay together. The home also has smaller studios for those who prefer something cosier. The apartments come unfurnished, allowing residents to bring furniture and personal items to help the settling in process significantly.

Although Bentley House has outstanding facilities, the home is all about the care it provides. Residents range from those who are relatively independent and still drive to those who require respite, full nursing, dementia or end of life care. The team at Bentley House pride themselves on providing discreet support.

I have no complaints whatsoever about my stay here for respite at Bentley House. All of the staff were very professional and caring. Nothing was too much trouble for them in anything I asked for. It was a pleasant experience.

All aspects of this home are very good. The staff in the dementia unit especially are very caring and pleasant. I am kept informed about my mothers care at all times. Very good liaison with local GP all in all very satisfied.

My mum has been at Bentley House for 3 years. She is much happier than living alone. The staff are all lovely, my mum is well cared for and seems much healthier than she was.
Only concern is that as more residents arrive the staff seem to be extra busy and have less time to chat with residents.

Both my parents are cared for in an extremely kind and dignified manner, for which the family are extremely grateful. There is good communication between carers and relatives which makes life so much easier and puts your mind at ease.

I was here for two weeks and was very pleased with my stay.

All the carers are very good at their jobs and go over and above to help my Mum.

3rd time of staying there. Room heating? Staff excellent. A big thank you to all the staff and many more I may not have met. All did their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible, so thank you. Room heating was grim. Radio reception in the room awful.

My mother has been in the home for 5 weeks but so far, I am very pleased. My mother is impressed with the restaurant and the quality of food.
She has a problem hearing so is shy of activities and joining in, hopefully, she will overcome this but is settling in well. Expensive!

Generally, my experience as a resident from April 2017, has been very positive. My apartment with my own furniture is home like and public areas are well decorated and well kept.
The staff both care staff and restaurant staff are kind, cheerful and unfailingly positive even in the most difficult circumstances!!
The cooking of food, on the whole, is good with a very reasonable choice so there should be something to suit all tastes.
My one negative concern is the time of meals, I would prefer to eat later both lunch and suppertime. However, I am very conscious that this is a personal choice and most people seem very content with the timings.

Bentley House is an exceptional residential home. It has the feel of a comfortable hotel. The staff are professional, friendly. That applies to all the staff on any level. They are all very caring and respectful to my mothers.


The restaurants are kept beautifully as is all the décor.


All the apartments

have modern ensuite showers and toilets, cleaned daily as are the bedrooms. My mother's laundry is efficient and beautifully returned.

My father moved into Bentley House in March 2016. He has been exceptionally well cared for by a caring and friendly team. The home staff have treated him as an individual recognising his likes and he has nothing but praise for the home. He chooses not to participate in most activities, enjoying his
own lounge area, TV, DVD player etc but the home has involved him in activities which appeal to him within an extensive and well-supported programme. Food is very varied and although my father finds it a little bland he recognises this is more to others tastes. Interviewed by the home for an advert he said 'fallen on my feet' regarding the home which is an excellent endorsement of the care I have seen evidence of.

I am delighted with the outstanding care my father has received at Bentley House. From the minute I made my enquiry to today, everything has been handled professionally, by staff who are caring and compassionate. I have seen several other homes and in my opinion, none are comparable to Bentley House

I made an initial appointment to visit the home, knowing that my husband needed nursing care and from then on nothing has been too much trouble. I feel that my husband is treated with care, compassion and dignity and I also receive support from the staff.
The fees are very steep but one of my children
worked it out on an hourly role for 24-hour care, and that makes it look totally reasonable knowing the level of care my husband needs.

Care was extremely high standard, no complaints. Quality of meals excellent. Staff exceptionally helpful. Activities assisted and also the assistant manager who had visited me prior to admission.
All activities outside the home were very well organized. The coach driver exceptionally good.

I received a very warm welcome when I arrived at Bentley House straight from hospital. I needed complete rest and care after an operation and that is what I received. All the staff were very caring and friendly - always checking to see if you were OK and did you need anything. The home was clean, bright
and very tastefully furnished. The food was varied, many choices, beautifully cooked and presented. There were many activities if you wanted to join in or comfortable places to sit and read and have a cup of tea of coffee. If I ever need respite care again I would not hesitate to book a room again at Bentley House and I would also recommend it to my friends and family.

Emma Franklin

I first started working in the care industry at the age of 16 years while still in college, working as a part-time Housekeeper. I started spending more time with the residents and realised my passion for care at a young age. I left college and became a full-time Care Assistant. I spent my first 10 years in care before I decided to go travelling, visiting Thailand, Australia, Vietnam, Malaysia and South America over 18 months. When I returned, I worked for Sunrise Senior Living for the next 14 years developing my career from a Senior Care Assistant to an Assisted living Coordinator, then onto a Regional Care Coordinator which took me into supporting a home and I then became General Manager. I finally left Sunrise Senior Living to take an opportunity with Signature Senior Lifestyle, firstly as the General Manager at Elton House and then transferred to Bentley House. I have now worked in the care industry for 30 years and feel just as passionate about looking after our residents now as I did when I was 16 years of age.

I have a background as a qualified nurse and midwife. I have experience working with different client groups, such as dementia, learning disabilities, assisted living, nursing and residential care. I am a very hardworking and passionate person. As the Residential Manager, I believe that it is important to be approachable and willing to help others. I pride myself in having a friendly and open approach to residents, loved ones and team members.

I joined Bentley House in September 2022 coming in from a non-care background of construction and hospitality. I haven’t looked back, it has been a pleasure to work alongside my colleagues and even more of a pleasure to build friendships with our residents here. I started building sites from a young age and continued on and off until I moved to the UK from Ireland in 2012. When I initially moved over, I got into the hospitality sector and ended up running restaurants for five years. I decided to get back into construction and maintenance in 2017, managing the maintenance team in a Grade 1 listed, 150-year-old country house which operated as a hotel. I consider myself a hardworking, self-motivated and determined individual who takes pride in their work. I would regard myself as a polite, friendly person who is confident when communicating with others.
