  • Built on the site of the former Greenalls Brewery, Belong Warrington is close to the town and a short walk into the lovely village of Stockton Heath. They are easily accessible from the M6 and M56 motorways. In honour of their origins, each household in Belong is named after a local brewery and more about the town’s working heritage can be found at the local Warrington Museum and Art Gallery.

My mother, who had advanced dementia, passed away in Belong Warrington last week, she had been living there for 13 months. The care she received throughout her time at Belong was exemplary and far exceeded my expectations. She was expected to die in Belong as we had DNR on her records and in the event
of her final few days were as pleasant and as comfortable as they could possibly be. She died in her own room with her favourite classical music on the radio and her family with her. The nursing support provided was sensitive and effective in preventing her from experiencing any obvious discomfort. The staff at Belong are a credit to the organisation and I cannot speak too highly of them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

From the start of our difficult decision to consider residential care for our mum Belong have been supportive, honest and professional. The admiral nurses listened to our concerns and senior staff were always supportive and reactive to our needs. Once in respite care mum was treated with kindness, dignity
and respect and staff at all levels were simply "wonderful". The environment and ethos of the Belong village ensured that as a family we were welcomed and part of our mums stay. The staff within the household fully understood our needs and our mum was treated and respected with care and dignity.

After an intensive search for a care home for our 94 year-old Mother, Belong was the only place we found that offered exceptional comfort, quality and facilities in a 'normal', i.e. non-institutional environment.


The level of care, respect, attention and encouragement our Mother received throughout

her year there was amazing. The management and staff are great human beings. Everyone one meets has a smile on their face and a positive attitude; nothing is too much trouble.
The Belong model of care for seniors is the way all care homes should be. The atmosphere is vibrant and uplifting, never depressing.


Sadly, our Mother died recently, unfortunately while we were out of the country. Whilst we were arranging return flights, the manager voluntarily undertook many tasks in our absence, I.e. liaising with the hospital on our behalf, releasing staff for hospital visits, registering the death for us, and contacting undertakers, all the while keeping us informed of progress via email and phone. All of the staff who could be spared and some who were off duty came to the funeral and the reception that followed. At such a sad time, we were so grateful to feel we had our Belong 'family' around us.

Belong has provided for my father, security, comfort in an excellent facility with excellent care by extremely friendly and professional staff in a friendly environment. I would recommend belong to who ever would need this facility. I would like to thank belong for the care and support they have provided

I have never met such helpful, genuine staff in any care home I have visited before. The ambiance in Belong is lively and friendly. The house my father lived in was beautiful and clean, his bedroom had everything he needed with a fabulous bathroom that catered for all his needs. The food served is a
superb standard. I can not thank Belong enough for looking and caring for my dad so well.

Barry

Barry Devine

Job Title: General Manager

Barry Devine is an experienced care professional, with experience both provider side and as an inspector of adult social care with the Care Quality Commission. He is passionate about ensuring the quality of life, positive outcomes, effective teamwork and continuous improvement through person-centred practice.


His experience includes roles supporting autistic people and people with a learning disability to live independent and fulfilled lives, including building and training teams of support workers to provide high-quality support for people living in their own homes.


Before this, as an inspector for the health and social care regulator, Barry was responsible for assessing providers’ compliance with standards, as well as using his background and CQC operational experience to inform policymaking and help design and deliver training for inspection managers on its implementation.

Job Title: Support Manager

Olivia was previously a Lead Senior Support Worker at Belong Atherton and has worked at the Warrington village supporting the management team with all aspects of governance within the village, before being appointed to the role of Assistant Support Manager in early 2023.

Andrea has worked in the care industry for eight years, having started her career as a domiciliary care worker in 2009, before joining the Belong Atherton team as a support worker, when it opened in 2011.


Andrea has extensive experience in administration and customer service and was promoted to Acting Front of House Manager for 9 months at Atherton before progressing to Front of House Manager at Belong Warrington in 2017.

Louise Mcmullen

Job Title: Village Nurse Manager

Louise was appointed to the nursing team at Belong Warrington in 2023, after a four-year track record as Village Nurse Manager at the CQC Outstanding rated village, Belong Atherton. With over a decade’s experience in nursing, she is a qualified mentor of student nurses and is an instrumental member of the village’s leadership team.


Louise's nursing career began at the age of 22 at the Royal Navy as part of the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service. She completed her nurse training at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham for 3 years, and once qualified, she was promoted to Leading Naval Nurse and was posted to Fort Blockhouse in Portsmouth, where she worked at Queen Alexandra Hospital.


In 2008, Louise was deployed on an operational tour to Afghanistan, working at the multinational, UK-LED Role 3 hospital in Camp Bastion, Helmand Province, caring for injured soldiers, opposition forces as well as the local Afghanistan villages and children. This hospital outperformed all UK major trauma centers with a survival rate of 98%!


Louise then spent six months in Afghanistan and worked on the RFA Argus, the primary casualty receiving ship which has a 100-bed medical complex onboard.
