Mossvale Care Home is a purpose built care home set across two floors. The home is modern, bright and welcoming, with 61 spacious, highly decorated bedrooms each with their own ensuite wet rooms.

Residents can choose from three lounge/dining rooms on each floor, where they can meet with friends and family. The home's location offers both views of the conservation area surrounding Hogganfield Loch as well as close proximity to amenities including bus routes and local shops.

The home benefits from large gardens, where residents can access the gardens freely and safely. This is a fabulous space, which is tranquil and relaxing to enjoy those summer days. There is an onsite hair salon and a dedicated hairdresser within the home to take care of your pampering needs and a barber regularly visits the home.

Mossvale is a wonderful care home. My mum moved in earlier this year and has settled well. The staff are attentive to Mum's needs and the activity calendar is just amazing. Mum has a new lease of life now and as a family, we have peace of mind that Mum is happy, secure and spotlessly clean and has many
COVID precautions in place to keep residents as safe as possible.

My mother was a resident at Mossvale Care Home for 3 years and 9 months.
The care she received was wonderful. The staff are excellent in that they go above and beyond to get whatever a resident needs. The activities are so much fun. It was great to my mum singing, laughing and dancing. She got to
go walks with Ebony and Ivory. When she passed away, the staff used their own phones so that my sister and I could video call. We were out of the country and Covid restrictions meant we could not fly back to Scotland.
I cannot commend Mossvale Care Home enough. If I have to go into care, I would choose there.

My mother has been a resident at Mossvale Care Home for more than 8 years now. We could not have found a better place for her to be cared for. The home has a high standard of care and cleanliness and its facilities are excellent. During the pandemic the staff at all levels have gone above and beyond
during this difficult time, and I cannot express my gratitude for their professionalism. I would have no hesitation recommending this home.

My mother spent her final 8 weeks at Mossvale Care Home, she sadly passed away on 20th January in the care of the home with us all around her. I will never forget the love and care my mother received in her final days. Thank you to all staff, but a special thanks to the staff nurse who kept me updated
on everything. It was a short stay for my mum, but I am grateful to every single member of staff who cared for her. I will be forever grateful.

My mum has been in Mossvale now for nearly eight years. The staff are absolutely amazing. I know she is being well looked after. The activity staff have been amazing throughout the pandemic. Nothing is a bother to any of the staff and I can't thank them enough for the care they have given to my mum
all these years. I couldn't have picked a better nursing home.

My mum was only in Mossvale for a short time, but in that time we were over the moon with the care she received. All staff were so attentive to Mum. The place is absolutely beautiful and her final days, myself and sister were able to stay and be with her we can't thank the staff enough for all they

Mossvale was recommended to me and it has not disappointed. The staff are all very friendly and have great interaction with the residents, nothing is ever a bother or a problem even during this pandemic they have all done an amazing job keeping everyone safe under very trying circumstances. Glad the
activities team are able to return to full-time entertainment roles, they do such a great job keeping everyone included.
My mum is well looked after and I can relax knowing she’s safe and in good hands.

As a friend of a resident, I can’t rate this home enough. The staff go above and beyond to care for their residents. I often see them out enjoying walks and enjoying all the fantastic activities. The staff are very approachable and nothing is ever a problem, they care for their residents with the utmost
respect, especially when covid had struck and when the residents had to isolate from their families, they did their very best not to make them feel more isolated as they treated them all as their own family members. I now follow them on social media to see what they are doing and on a daily basis. I collect my daughter from the local school across the road where they are all at the windows waving, it’s so lovely to see. Craigend is very lucky to have this fabulous care home in the area.

The staff are so caring, approachable and happy to help. The activities girls are a huge asset to the team and go above and beyond daily. A team of very young girls on the ground level are just wonderful with the residents, loving and attentive. The nursing staff are so lovely to deal with and happy
to discuss your family member whenever you have a question. My mum is happy and content and I hope this will continue.

I can’t praise the care and kindness both my parents received in Mossvale. My dad is still a resident and he is very well looked after. The staff show kindness and empathy towards him and the activity girls are amazing. They organise events for all the residents to enjoy, they are truly wonderful.

Mossvale Care Home is a well-managed home. My father has been there for nearly 2 years and we have been very pleased with how he has been cared for. Dad always looks smart and tidy. The staff at Mossvale are patient and caring. The home is kept very clean and well maintained.

My husband was resident in the care home for over 2 years until he passed away last November and I thought the care was outstanding. When my mother, who is 102 years old, had to go into care I insisted she went nowhere but Mossvale Care Home because I knew it was the best as far as I was concerned.
I think that’s the highest recommendation any care home can have. The manager and staff are outstanding.
The only reason I’ve put good for food is because I don’t eat in there.

We placed mum in Mossvale in March 2019. It was a stressful time as we had looked at in excess of 20 homes before we found somewhere we would be happy to leave her to be cared for. Mum settled well and despite her dementia, it was clear she was making good relationships with a number of the staff. Mum
did not eat or drink well and staff would encourage her by trying different foods and drinks and spending time doing so. The activities workers (5 of them) were fantastic and included mum in various activities within the home. The care and respect she received was excellent. My only regret is not finding it sooner. Sadly mum passed away in June 2019. She and the family were looked after well during her palliative care. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a placement for a relative.

Alan Twigg

Job Title: Regional Director

I joined the Care Home in January 2021, I have worked in Health and Social Care since I qualified as a Nurse in 2010. During this time I have worked in a variety of care homes in several different roles and worked in Regional Roles for the past five years.


I graduated from the University of the West of Scotland in 2010 and have been nursing ever since.


I have a passion for caring for the elderly and have loved working in Care homes as my full Nursing Carer. It's an honour and privilege to work in the Social Care Sector.
