Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

If there is a hobby or interest you would particularly enjoy or a particular genre of film you would like to watch then please do let our lifestyle team know.

With regards to the provision of hairdryers, this is certainly something we will review.

We are delighted to hear your positive comments about your care at Scarlet House. We appreciate your feedback about the food and activities. All our meals are freshly prepared and cooked by our own chef using quality ingredients. If you have a particular favourite dish that you like cooked in a particular way then our chef will only be too happy to prepare this for you. Our menus are prepared in advance and there are times when plans have to change, due to ingredient availability. Checks are now in place to ensure the displayed menus are correct. With regard to the activities, there are occasions when they have to be cancelled due to staff sickness. However, we do try to minimise this as much as possible so that we don’t disappoint. We provide a wide range of activities based on residents interests but if there is a particular hobby or activity you enjoy then please don’t hesitate to mention this to the lifestyle team

Thank you very much for your feedback regarding your mother’s care at Scarlet House and your positive comments about our care team, activities and food. We are also pleased that you feel residents are treated with dignity and that safety and security are good.
We are sorry to hear your concerns about your mums hearing aid. Your mum was self-caring with her aids since she moved in but has been struggling to put them in and didn’t ask our staff for help. Now, following our conversation, we have an agreed plan that your mum’s carer will be responsible for ensuring her hearing aids are in.
With regards to the missed appointment, your mum decided that she wanted to go on the outing rather than go for her appointment. As your mum has capacity we have to respect her decisions.

The equipment we serve the meals from should ensure both the plates and the meal itself are of an adequate temperature. We will, of course, review this with the team and make improvements where possible. We take great care in our menu planning to offer a variety of choice for residents, however, the home manager Pyela would be more than happy to discuss your mother's preference with you, so that we can create a meal plan that will suit her individual requirements.

The care staff are always very professional, treat the residents with respect and dignity, often in challenging situations. The only failing here is when things get promised and then don't happen, like nail cutting and baths. The activity staff could be more proactive in rounding up residents.

We are sorry to hear that you have experienced some issues, however, I understand that the home manager Pyela, has now met with you to discuss this in more detail and you have agreed a plan to ensure your relatives nails are checked at least three times a week and this will be documented for your review. Our housekeeping team do their very best to ensure all bedrooms are cleaned regularly, however, on occasion the residents are reluctant. Going forward the cleaners will more flexible with their schedules and will try to accommodate the cleaning of your father-in-law’s bedroom when it is vacant, which he is happy with. We hope this has addressed any concerns you had but please do contact the home manager if you have any further feedback at any time.

Having previously led the team at Winchcombe Place I’m excited and feel privileged to lead a new team and ensure that everyone’s supported, working together and managing a team I’m proud of.
I started my working career after studying for a Pharmacology degree, which led me to work in a community pharmacy and after hearing all the wonderful things about Care UK I wanted to try something new in my career, so I joined Care UK.
Previously at Care UK I was Deputy Manager at Winchcombe Place and have taken part in the Future Home Manager Program to help me develop my skills and understanding of home to be a successful home manager.
Within my role, I believe you need to be knowledgeable in a wide range of key areas, responsible, approachable efficient and understanding which has helped me develop a successful team.
Outside of work, I love to dance and previously I’ve been featured on television in a dance competition.
