  • We include most things in our weekly fee. Although Hairdressing is separate as arranged for you. We have a small list of what you may have to pay for should you need it. We accept council rates with a top up. However we offer fully trained staff, people that know how to support and care for residents with dementia. We believe the ethos of having choice and making that happen is more important than any fee you pay.

My Mother moved to Osborne House in August 2015, and at that time I had no experience of any care home, or what to expect, but I'm just so grateful that I was suggested Osborne House and their fantastic team. The attention to detail with my Mother's care, health, safety, dignity and quality of life
is so much more then using the excellent buttons on this review. My Mother is treated as an individual with care that is tailored to her needs and doing this she has become much happier and relaxed, more so than I've seen her in recent years trying to live independently. At the same time the consideration and communication I've received has been excellent and has made a very difficult decision so much easier. Thank you Osborne House.

The staff at Osborne House are very caring, helpful and friendly to residents and family alike. Giving support to family if needed at anytime. My mother is very happy here. The staff encourage her to join in activities, bur she is never pushed to do so.

I would like to thank all Members of Staff for making my Mothers stay with you so lovely. It was lovely to see my Mother happy and settled. There are lots of activities for all the residents to take part in. The food was lovely and my Mother would often comment on the lovely food. Mum has now settled
into her new Care Home and I am sure this is due to the kindness that was given to her when she stayed in Osbourne House with you all. Thank you once again and thank you from my Mother and I will continue to pop in and see the Staff with updates on Mum and visit with the residents.

When visiting my sister I have found the staff friendly, welcoming and caring to myself as well as to her. The staff treat her with affection and seem to go to any lengths to ensure her happiness and wellbeing. I have no qualms about leaving her, and although she has been a resident for only six months
is happy to stay there and happy to integrate with other residents. I personally have received nothing but sympathy and understanding.

After spending a lot of time viewing homes for my nan when I walked into Osborne House I knew it was where nan would be happy. The staff are brilliant with the right combination of professionalism, and caring. Osborne House really care about the residents and their families. The staff go out of their
way to make sure each resident is happy and taking part. They promote choice and independence and I would recommend them to anyone trying to find a safe, secure caring home for their relative. Thank you team Osborne!

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.369)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.369) out of 10 for Osborne House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.831 for Osborne House is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 71 Ratings = 4.831

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.538 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Osborne House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.4 = 0.938

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have decided not to talk about my knowledge, experience and qualifications in care. Instead, who I am as a person as there is so much more to an individual than a qualification, same as someone living with dementia, they are so much more than a medical diagnosis. I am fun, honest and mostly passionate, I can promise that there will be no stone left unturned to ensure we are enabling someone we care for to feel love and happiness and live a life full of choice.
