  • Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
    These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
    utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and

    We currently have a welcome offer available for new residents funding their own care at Ashwood Care Centre. The offer includes free hairdresser/barber services, chiropody, daily newspaper of your choice and a toiletry gift set on arrival.

    Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

My relative has been cared for by Ashwood for nearly three years now, we have always found him to be very well looked after and, therefore, he is always in high spirits and very happy.


He gets on very well with the other residents and has even found himself a 'girlfriend'. The management were very

happy to provide an additional chair for his room enabling them to be constant companions - they are usually together from 8 am 'till 8 pm EVERY day - with only an occasional disagreement over the TV, sounds quite normal! We are very happy with this as it enhances his life, his friend is now part of our family too and comes on all our trips out whenever possible.


We definitely recommend this home for your relative too

My uncle has lived at Ashwood for the past 2 and 1/2 years, his room seems to be larger than ones available in the other homes we looked at, enabling him to bring a number of pieces of his own furniture with him, he is very happy there and considers it to be his home. I consider him to be very well
looked after, which gives us great peace of mind. His room and bathroom are always clean and tidy, his laundry is also looked after on a daily basis.
The carers are always very attentive and go out of their way to ensure the residents are comfortable and well looked after. There are regular activities and entertainment, including pottery - uncle has made many lovely items.
Friends and relatives are always made to feel very welcome, today the Manager hosted a BBQ which all relatives and friends were invited to share, this was very successful and very much appreciated by my Uncle and our family.

On January 4th, I was blown over by a gale in a local car park. After 11 days in hospital with a fractured pelvis, I returned home as I was a carer for my husband who had Alzheimers. He came to this Ashwood Home for respite and has never returned home.
I went to another home for one week waiting for
a room on the 1st floor at Ashwood and my husband in on the ground floor.
We are here now and I have accepted this is now my home but although my husband is content, he will never accept it I fear. Thank you for the help and kindness.

Since my Nan has been in Ashwood care home, the staff have been lovely and helpful. They seem to spend their time ensuring she is happy. The facilities are great. I am able to go in and do my Nan's hair and nails. I used to do this at home for her. The grounds are lovely to go out and sit in too.

Ashwood Care Centre provides a clean, comfortable and caring environment for my mother. The staff have always been attentive and caring towards my mother and informative towards me. I feel I have the full support of the staff at Ashwood, making sure my mother is happy, comfortable and well cared for.

My mother has been at Ashwood Care Centre for almost three years and I recommend them unreservedly. My mother has been happy and contented since she moved in and has herself praised the staff and the care given, on numerous occasions.
The Care Centre is purpose built and this really shows in the well-planned
layout, the good sized rooms and the homely feel.
I have found all the staff professional, happy and inviting and my mother has said so too. The care and support I would say is second to none.

Excellent purpose built facility. Light and airy with wide corridors and plenty of various sized social areas. Good parking and reasonable access to town centre. Staff are pleasant and attentive, always seem to find time for extra personal attention when required. There seems to be a good range of activities,
both provided in-house and externally sourced, such as singers and entertainers, animal visits, shopping opportunities brought in, big board scrabble and quizzes.
Each residential unit has a kitchen area where drinks and snacks are always available.
Visitors are made to feel welcome at almost any time.
Having tried most of the local care homes with another relative, eventually ending up at Ashwood, I had no hesitation in recommending it for my mother when the need arose.

My brother has been a resident in Ashwood Care Centre for the past four years suffering from Parkinson's. The care he received was of the highest standard. The last few weeks he was very ill and we as a family wanted him to remain in Ashwood as he knew the staff. This was the best thing we did as the
care and support he received was outstanding. The carers treated him with dignity and love and care was also given to the family. All the staff at Ashwood give more than 100% care.

The care home is a lovely place. Rooms are excellent, all ensuite. My husband has only been a resident for one month but has settled down very well. All the carers are very kind to him and myself when I visit. I thoroughly recommend the care home.

The care home made a traumatic experience easier.
The staff were open and supportive, clearly experienced and very warm. They took their time to get to know Mum quickly and helped her settle in.
What pleased me the most was that they listened to our comments about what would help Mum cope and carried

Beautifully and intelligently designed modern care home with friendly respectful staff. My wife and I, if we were ever to need residential care for ourselves would not hesitate taking up residence at Ashwood, as it is we are happy for our loved one to be there. My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia on 14th December 2004 at RICE-RUH and I cared for her until May 2016 when I was medically advised that I needed to get her into a care home. Ashwood Care Centre was recommended and they had a vacancy. My wife settled in very quickly and I was always welcomed
as on of the family. Her last nine months were spent in a happy place - thank you.

I chose Ashwood for my wife in the 11th year of early onset Alzheimers and Dementia because of their specialised unit, running alongside normal and residential care and after considerable knowledge gleaned from dealing with both my parents with similar needs.
The physical environment of Ashwood is
extremely well planned with the feeling of openness and light and the organisation of 'small households' with up to 16 residents in each household.
Because of the breakdown into smaller units, there is a greater degree of personal contact between the very sympathetic and cheerful care staff and the residents.
The activities are well advertised and timetabled and residents encouraged to participate.
The food is above average for institutionalised meals, the small cinema room and coffee shop add to the feeling of a more normal environment.

The night staff acted efficiently in getting appropriate help for my mother-in-law who was then transferred to hospital. The hospital was not prepared to keep her in due to her confusion and anxiety problems so arranged for her to return to Ashwood Care Centre. The staff were all made aware of her returning
the same evening and welcomed her back, she was then a lot calmer and less anxious once in her room. We were able to stay with her as long as we wished and offered tea, cakes and extra comfy chairs which after a long day was much appreciated.

I was at first apprehensive about my mother going into a care home due to some bad press that I had read. She is, however, happy and contented and I have complete peace of mind knowing that she is very well looked after in every aspect which is very important to me as I am the only other surviving member
of our family. I cannot praise the staff enough, they are wonderful!

My parents were both in the care of Ashwood Care Centre. My mother recently passed away and the kindness and consideration to my father (still in care) and the rest of the family has been outstanding. We have all been treated with courtesy, respect and professionalism throughout this time by both carers
and other staff. It brings great reassurance when, as a family, you cannot always be together, but are assured of being in capable hands.

Pauline

Pauline Colman-Holland

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2015

Pauline grew up in Bradford-on-Avon, she left home to do her Nurse training and has spent over 40 years as a nurse, gaining a life time of experience which has built the foundations of her growing and changing profession. She is a strong believer in training and motivating staff, to bring out the best in them and what they do, giving them the confidence to strive for more.
Pauline joined OSJCT Ashwood in 2015, as the Deputy Manager, and has enjoyed helping to build and support the home to where it is today. In 2018 she took on the role of Home Manager “For me Ashwood is like a large family. There is great warmth amongst the residents, staff and families.”


Cheryl

Cheryl Bligdon

Job Title: Bursar

Joined: 2014

Cheryl has worked at Ashwood Care Centre since 2014, initially as Administrator before she was promoted to Bursar in 2017.


Cheryl says: ‘I love working at Ashwood as I love spending time with the residents and being able to support their relatives/loved ones through their care journey. Ashwood is my work family and the team I work with and the residents is why I have been with OJSCT since 2014’.


Melanie

Melanie Hull

Job Title: Head of Dementia Care

Joined: 2014

Mel has been with OSJCT since 2004, initially working at Fives Court until she left in 2009 to have her children.


Two children later, Mel returned to the Trust in 2014 as a carer and has been with OSJCT ever since, working her way up the ranks to her current position a Head of Dementia Care.


Mel says that she loves working with people living with dementia as ‘they brighten up my life and I find my role really rewarding. I enjoy working at Ashwood Care Centre as the team are like an extended family to me’.


Beverley

Beverley Shaw

Job Title: Administration Assistant

Joined: 2018

Prior to joining OSJCT Bev worked as an Estate Agent in Colchester. Bev decided to move to Warminster to be nearer to her mother and 6 siblings.


Bev started working at Ashwood in August 2018 as an Administration Assistant. Bev chose to work at Ashwood Care Centre as she had previously worked as a Housing Manager in Sheltered Housing and wanted to return to the sector.


‘I love the people I work with, both the residents and colleagues. What I really enjoy about working at Ashwood is the diversity it offers me; one day I am in reception, and the next day I can be providing resident care or be working in the kitchen or supporting residents with activities. I love my job.
