Amherst House is a beautiful, purpose-built care home set in the heart of Surrey. The dedicated team provides 24-hour nursing, dementia and residential care in luxurious surroundings.

The spacious, modern home is organised into four suites, each with its own dining room and lounge. The bedrooms in the Surrey home are designed to the highest of standards and each feature en-suite bathrooms. The home's exceptional facilities include a cinema, hair and beauty salon and a bright and spacious café. Four terraces are located on the upper floor, and landscaped sensory gardens outdoors include a bee and butterfly sanctuary.

The lifestyle team offers a varied activity programme including trips out to local areas of interest in the home's minibus.

Excellent care and support are provided at all times. My mother is very happy at Amherst House and considers moving there as the best thing she has ever done. The staff team and management are superb - highly recommended.

A wonderful, warm, positive environment, giving Mum and all of our family security and confidence in her everyday care. Gracewell has exceeded my expectations and I am very happy my father is a resident. As I write this review I am sitting in the Bistro watching the staff entertain the residents and it brings a smile to my face.

My dad became a resident at Gracewell of Horley Park in December 2020 for palliative care. I cannot compliment this place enough, as it's outstanding. The comfort, staff and atmosphere within the premises are just phenomenal. During Covid, every effort was made to all visits to see my dad. Gracewell
went above and beyond to meet my dad's Hindu religious food diet and learnt how to make Gujarati food - something other care homes would not. All medical care needs are taken care of, and this takes a lot of stress off the immediate family. I will always be grateful to Gracewell, to the staff that care for my dad and for making my family always feel welcomed. It's the "ritz" of care homes.

My mother has been a resident for a number of years. The staff are very caring and treat each resident as they would wish to be treated themselves. The home is very clean and every effort has been made to keep staff, residents and family safe during the pandemic.

Mum has been a resident of Gracewell for three years now. In the last 12 -18 months she has been diagnosed with advanced dementia and is often quite confused but we have always found the staff very caring, attentive towards her and have her best interests at heart. She seems very happy in her own world.
Over the lockdown period we have kept in touch with her main carers and always received very detailed updates. Mum eats very well from a varied menu provided by an excellent chef. We would highly recommend Gracewell and are thankful we secured a place for her. The only reason I haven't graded the 'activities' section is because mum refuses to join in but I know they are many and varied. Thank you to all the staff for looking after our lovely mum.

MY mother has been a resident at Gracewell of Horley Park for over five years now. The staff caring for her have always made a point of knowing her needs, likes and dislikes. She is always treated with dignity, respect and consideration and comments regularly that she feels that she is "well looked
after here".
Because we were happy with the standard of care, the home was the obvious choice for my father in law, when he also needed residential care. He is, sadly, no longer with us but the staff at Gracewell did all they could to support his needs too.
The recent pandemic has been a very difficult time for residents, staff and relatives. Not being allowed to pop in to visit has been hard, but I recognise that government rules were hard for everyone. I cannot praise the staff enough for the bravery and support they have given and the difficult decisions made in very trying times. Residents need their families and rules now need to ease for vaccinated family members.

They are all very caring and respectful. It has taken time for her to get used to being in a care home as she has always been

Gracewell of Horley Park is an ideal place for your loved one to be cared for with the utmost of respect. When it became apparent that my Mother would need care as she suffers from Dementia, we searched and researched about 30 care homes in the local area and Gracewell was the best by far. My mother
has been a resident now for around 2 years and we know that she is safe, being well cared for and looked after. It feels like every carer and staff member that looks after my Mother have become our friends as well as her.

My Mum has been at Gracewell Horley Park for almost 2 years. It's been a difficult time after she lost her husband of 50 years and obviously during the past year with very little freedom. The staff are excellent - polite, caring and friendly. The room is nice and she has a nice quiet garden area directly
outside. The management is good, and we feel updated regularly on progress during Covid. The food is generally good - although I think Mum would like something a bit spicier on occasion. Overall I would recommend. It's not cheap - but I don't think many care homes are!

My aunt came to live at Gracewell of Horley Park in October. We appreciated the help and support we received in organising her admission, she was welcomed into the home by friendly staff and quickly settled into her new surroundings. Her medical needs were assessed and have been well managed and despite
the restrictions due to the current Covid situation. Staff have worked hard to organise a variety of activities and social times which she enjoys.
My aunt tells me that she enjoys the quality and variety of food that she is offered and the availability of beverages throughout the day.
I find communications from Gracewell clear and informative with an acknowledgement of the concerns of friends and relatives of residents in these difficult times.

We have been very impressed with the care Mum received at Gracewell. It has always been considerate, professional but also good fun. Everyone has been so approachable, and nothing has been too much trouble. This has been across the board, from carers and nurses, through to management, admin, kitchen,
maintenance, and housekeeping. Mum, herself was full of praise for the home, the staff and her beautiful room. It was her home for over five and a half years. She enjoyed the activities, the garden, the front balcony was a favourite spot, and not forgetting her weekly visit to the in-house hairdresser. A big thank you from the family.

I am a registered general nurse with experience in acute cardiac care and learning disabilities. I joined the home in October 2016. I am a diabetes and fall prevention champion. I have proven clinical skills and advanced knowledge which led to me being promoted. I pride myself on being resident-focused and ensuring that all individuals we support are empowered to make choices and participate fully in the running of their homes. I enjoy spending time bonding with residents and their families, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and happiness are met. I was very proud to be awarded the Champion of Quality Care award in 2019.
