Thank you for the review made in respect of your experience at Eastbourne House and that overall you rate much of the service we offer as good and always to a satisfactory level. We take great pride in ensuring that our Residents are cared for in a beautiful environment and pride ourselves on the level of attention to detail in the home. We are very happy to hear that your Father is experiencing positive outcomes in many areas and your Father reports that he is happy in our home. With regard to your comment about transport; following GP advice is was necessary to take your father to hospital that day. It was too late to arrange patient transport as this requires booking in advance. We discussed with your father how he would like get to the hospital and he agreed a taxi would be a good idea.

You have highlighted concerns about the food on offer at the home, and apologise if we have fallen short of the high standards we aspire to.
Each home has its own dedicated catering team, who prepare all meals using fresh, raw, ingredients. All fresh meat and meat products are British Farm Assured.
Making sure Residents have a choice of their favourite foods is really important to us. We record individual preferences to make sure our fresh food menus are created around what they want most. We are delighted to welcome families and loved ones to share in mealtimes, and the Sunday roast is a special time at many of our homes.
Thanking you again for taking the time to provide really helpful feedback about the home. We value all feedback and ensure it is recorded and acted upon.
The health, well-being, safety and happiness of Residents are our top priorities, and we work hard every day to ensure we are delivering the high quality, kind care all Residents deserve.

The Home Manager has an open door policy please feel free to pop in any time you are visiting to discuss any concerns you may have.

With regards to your comments about the activities programme on offer at the home, we apologise if we have fallen short of the high standards we aspire to.
We endeavour to have a dedicated Wellbeing Co-ordinator at each home to ensure a range of engaging and enjoyable activities are provided for all Residents, based on their individual likes and preferences. We have also provided all homes with a minibus so that day trips can be arranged for Residents and we apologise that your trip had to be cancelled in this instance.
Sometimes, due to staff sickness or vacancies, we are unable to deliver the programme of activities we want to. Please be assured that in these situations we are working very hard to rectify the situation as quickly as possible. We apologise again for the inconvenience caused during these times.

Debbie has gained over 25 years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.
Debbie closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Eastbourne House.
When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Debbie remarked: “The most rewarding part of my job is definitely having the opportunity to make a difference to our Residents’ lives.”
Away from work, Debbie enjoys spending time with her family, especially on their caravan holidays.
