From our first contact via email to our most recent visit, De Lucy House and all the staff have been amazing, welcoming, friendly, so knowledgeable about dementia and memory loss and reassuring. Nothing is too much trouble.
De Lucy House is a home from home and as soon as we walked in we knew that
this was the perfect place for Dad.
I really can’t tell you our sense of relief at finding De Lucy House and I really can’t sing their praises enough.

My mum and I have been delighted with every element of De Lucy House. It is very homely and welcoming, with beautiful, clean, well-kept rooms and communal areas. The staff at all levels have been fantastic, always kind, cheerful and friendly and supporting my Mum with her physio as well as day-to-day
care. My family are always welcome and visits to my Mum are further enhanced by this. Meals, drinks and snacks are high quality and the home put on a fantastic afternoon tea for my family and Mum when we celebrated her 80th birthday. We couldn't ask for more!

I have always found everyone really helpful and very friendly. There is usually someone to speak to if I have questions or concerns and if not I have been able to phone and speak to someone. I have found the annual reviews informative and helpful. I have witnessed staff being kind, respectful and responsive
to my mother's needs every time I visit.

The facilities are brilliant and the carers are lovely. If there were more staff maybe Mum could have more company as she does get bored (though she sleeps a lot!).

My mother has been a resident at De Lucy House for four years and has been well cared for throughout. The staff are kind, friendly and totally professional, and I do not have to worry about my mother as I know she is in excellent hands. There are lots of activities and friendships and always laughter

The staff are exceptional, very friendly and professional. My mother's room is spacious and comfortable. The food is varied and of a good standard. My mother really enjoys the activities and the organised day trips. Overall it's a very pleasant place for my mother to live and I can relax knowing she

My dad has been at De Lucy House for nearly a month and has been in hospital following a fall and breaking his hip for eleven weeks. At 90 years old, he had lived independently with my mum in their own bungalow, but it became obvious that he wasn't going to be able to return home and live safely anymore.
Without the help of the manager, I don't think I could've coped much longer trying to deal with Social Services and the hospital discharge team. She made the whole process much less stressful and could not have been kinder. Dad has settled really well in his very nice room and is getting the very best of care. He says how lovely the food is and how well all the staff look after him. I will be forever grateful to all the De Lucy team for making my dad feel safe and well cared for and in the best place -only five minutes down the road. Thank you.

We have been impressed by the support offered - visits to the home prior to staying and visits to the resident prior to going into the home etc. The appearance of the home has always been clean and tidy. Our neighbour has settled well, no doubt partly due to the care of the staff. Activities seem planned
with carers in attendance, encouraging the participation of residents. The financial side was dealt with efficiently. Thanks to all the staff.

One day I was late visiting my mother. She was tearful as she is now more emotional following her stroke. When I arrived, a nurse was sitting in the lounge with her, comforting her. The creed of the Care Home, which this nurse was living by, is to treat the residents as if they are your own family.
The nurse spent time with her, because the Home is very well staffed, and also not understaffed, she could spare the time and it was embedded. My mother has trouble with her very basic mobile phone and the receptionist and staff are always quick to sort the problem out. I remember my mother being in the N and N Hospital following her stroke, she felt abandoned because of Covid restrictions. Before that she lived in a village with friends dropping in. This Home has given her the companionship that she had lost. They have trips out, entertainment, and numerous lounges. On a practical note the Diss railway station is a short walk away. I feel very fortunate that my mother is in this Care Home.

I write to express how much I appreciated all the care and support given at end of life. This was both for my dying friend and for me. The dignity with which she was treated to prepare her to leave her home was exemplary. She left the building with staff standing quietly to bid her goodbye. It was profoundly
moving and illustrates well how this lovely home loves, respects and cares for its residents.

My mother spent the last three months of her life at De Lucy House Care Home. Her condition deteriorated fast but throughout she was treated with dignity and kindness by the staff. It was a very difficult time for the family as visiting was restricted but we were always able to speak to members of staff
on days we couldn't see Mum. Even in a short time we got to know them well and they would go out of their way to make Mum comfortable and happy. When well enough she particularly enjoyed visits to the coffee lounge and the hairdresser.
At the end, their care and kindness to Mum (and my sister and I) were exemplary. We are so thankful that she had high quality, 24-hour care and was not alone when we couldn't be there.
It is a team effort. The receptionists, the maintenance staff, the cleaners (the home is always spotless), caterers as well as the carers and the management work together to provide a friendly atmosphere and a real home for the residents.

As a family, we are always impressed with the courtesy and speed with which our enquiries have been dealt with.
The staff provide a warm welcoming atmosphere to everyone, they are always kind, considerate and go the extra mile. The health and happiness of every resident is their prime concern.

My mum came to the care home in December 2020. Despite the restrictions and challenges faced over these months, I have been impressed by the care given to my mum and the protocols employed for window/face to face visits. All staff encountered remotely or in-person have been friendly and professional.
It is a great comfort knowing that Mum is in a safe place and extremely well cared for.

My name is Lauren Tubby and I am privileged to be the manager of De Lucy House in Diss.


De Lucy House is a brand new home which has been designed to provide the best possible environment that assists the devoted team in putting the residents first in everything they do.


My role is to manage the day to day running of the home and I am dedicated about ensuring that residents receive personalised care at all times. I find it incredibly rewarding to support residents and see them thrive as individuals.


Every member of my team is committed to making a difference and supporting not only the people who live here, but their families and friends too.


My personal philosophy is to always have my door open to listen to anyone who wants to talk. This communication with others enables me to create an environment which is eternally improving to make our residents happy.
