I was shown around the excellent facilities which exactly fitted my daughter's end of life needs. The staff and managers were gracious but efficient. My daughter has settled in despite the coronavirus restrictions, which although necessary, impair visits. No hugs available, only in the mind. All precautions
are rigorously applied. All in all very satisfied. Ps. coronavirus has stopped proper visiting, only 1/2 hour outside building visits are allowed.

My mother has been a resident for three years in Haddon Hall and is very happy. The facilities of this purpose-built care home are like a 5-star hotel. The staff are excellent, and the standard of care is outstanding.

My mum's description of Haddon Hall is "it's not like a care home, it's more like a 5* hotel. The food and the staff are lovely".
I think that says it all. My only concern is the bedroom furniture is very heavy and bulky for frail people.

Haddon Hall staff have looked after Dad extremely well. They have been so helpful in facilitating FaceTime calls with him during the lockdown.
His calm and contented state is because he is feeling secure and safe, well-fed and looked after. Staff are able to reassure me about his condition and the
current management of infection risk during the coronavirus pandemic.

My mother quickly settled in, feeling very safe. Haddon Hall is of a very high standard in terms of the building facilities. However, what makes Haddon Hall stand out is the team who work there, friendly and caring you expect as a given, but my experience is beyond that. All the staff are interested
and concerned for my mother's welfare, which makes her more relaxed and me also. Piece of mind that all is being done that can be.

This lovely luxury Care and Nursing Home has been a true haven for our lovely Mum since she arrived here in July. The staff, nurses and carers are all extremely friendly, professional and give a wonderful service all round. Mum's had a few problems medically to deal with to which we as a family could
not have wished for better attention. Thankyou Haddon Hall. You are fabulous.

Both my parents have been residents at Haddon Hall for 11 months with very difficult needs. The quality of care they each receive is excellent. The home, it's facilities, food, decor etc is of a hotel standard but the staff make it extra special. I hope they are valued and supported by Porthaven and
local management.

I live in Whaley Bridge where we had a crisis with the local reservoir. We had to evacuate our homes. Needing specialist care my family brought me to Haddon Hall.
The care was "second to none" - Very caring and cheerful staff. They were superb as with all the staff. Could not do enough to care for
me. It is so well run and such a happy atmosphere. I will be recommending it to everyone I know.

From my mother going on a short stay, re circumstances, it was quality first class from walking through the doors and out. In fact, as for care homes in this area, it's the best by miles and felt my mum was cared for 24/7 in a nice caring way and a nice vibe and feel to the place, which gave me peace
of mind.

An excellent care home, more like a hotel.
Unfortunately, my husband is unaware of his surroundings and my daughters and I have chosen this care home to give us some comfort for the dreadful life my husband must lead.
It seems no amount of excellent care can really give him any comfort.

I could not be more pleased with the excellent care my mother has been given. From the first moment, she and we were made to feel very welcome and every effort made by all staff to help mum settle in. The kindness and care continue with consistency and although Mum suffers from depression, there has
been a definite improvement since coming here.

I am happy here, which says a lot! I've seen other homes. I've been permitted to deal with my own medication under my GP's permission - I like my independence! I came here initially for two months respite and to settle my husband down. He had dementia and passed away on 13th February 2018, very peacefully
and with great attention to his needs at all times. The staff and management have been very supportive through all this time. My family have always had generous access. I am never bored. If I have a complaint, I sit for too long!

Haddon Hall Care Home has provided much-needed care for my mother-in-law at a time when we were struggling to deal with her dementia. They have looked after her basic needs offering help with dressing etc but only where needed. She reports that the food is just like she would make herself which is praise
indeed. She joins in enthusiastically with all the wonderful activities provided and this has definitely enhanced her life compared to when she was living alone. Most of all we appreciate the family-like atmosphere of the dementia floor and the great care taken.

My husband looks forward to his respite care with yourselves. This care home is much like a hotel so every day is like a holiday. The friendliness and care from the staff are very good. You feel very positive in recommending this home to others friends and family.

I have been a Registered Adult Nurse since 2006 and currently teach nursing therapeutics and medication management as well as contemporary approaches to diabetes for The University of Derby online. Before joining the team at Haddon Hall Care Home, I worked for the NHS for a number of years.

Hello, my name is Richard Vaughan, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Haddon Hall.


Having worked in customer service for most of my life, I take pride in putting people first and ensuring service is king. When I joined Haddon Hall I was delighted to see how nice, warm and friendly the team here are and how special they make our residents feel.


My role as client services manager involves supporting people through the process of choosing a care home and offering advice, guidance, reassurance and compassion for individuals and their loved ones. I feel very honoured and humbled to have the opportunity to be able to help at each stage of the process, from showing people around our home to assisting them on moving-in day and everything in between.

Hello, my name is Sharon Gillespie, and I am the Home Trainer here at Haddon Hall.


I have an NVQ level 5 Management in Health and Social Care and a Petal level 3 in Teacher Training Award, and I have worked for Porthaven for nearly 12 years.


Haddon Hall is an amazing home to work in; the staff and our residents are fantastic, and we think of ourselves as one big happy family. I thoroughly enjoy my role and find training new care staff incredibly rewarding. We pride ourselves on delivering person-centred care and making a positive difference in the lives of our residents.


I have two grown-up children who I raised in Cheshire, and I now have five wonderful grandchildren.

Hello, my name is Keith, and I am one of the Activities and Wellbeing Coordinators here at Haddon Hall.


As an activities and wellbeing coordinator, I coordinate and support the planning, creation and delivery of our home's activities and wellbeing programme, which aims to encourage our residents to participate in various engaging activities and hobbies. I spend time getting to know our residents so that I can produce a programme of activities that cater to their specific interests and assist in the whole-home approach of delivering person-centred care.


I have worked for Porthaven for nine years, and I still thoroughly enjoy my job!
