I have stayed here many times now and love the home. Abbey Wood Lodge is kept to a very high standard. All the staff are amazing. Many functions are organised by the events organiser and I have been on many of these and had great times and lovely memories. I would highly recommend Abbey Wood Lodge and
I look forward to my time here. I love all the staff and made many friends.

My Grandad has been in Abbey Wood for 7 months now and can confidently say that he is settled in brilliantly; the staff and other residents have been very welcoming and making life very comfortable for him. The variety and amount of activities and different trips is excellent and as my Grandad is a
very sociable person I know he enjoys these very much. It is a fantastic care home.

This care home has amazing facilities and they are always including residents in all activities, events, and trips. I like how the residents are able to enjoy a social life and can all age well in a friendly atmosphere - somewhere they can call home. All families are involved in the home which I feel
is so important so that them, along with the residents. They don't feel pushed out or isolated. Pictures on social media ie. Facebook and Twitter are a great way to show the local community what the care home is about, reducing the stigma and negativity towards care homes as well as reducing the stigma and negativity towards living with dementia.

Dad became resident at Abbey Wood earlier this year, I don't believe we could have chosen a better place for him to be. The building and facilities are modern, clean and well maintained but, more importantly, the staff care and are fantastic in the way that they look after and interact with the residents.
Activities at the home and trips out are never ending .... my dad has a better social life than I do! Suffice to say that if I need somewhere to be in future years then I'll be telling my kids to book me into Abbey Wood.

Having viewed many care homes for my own mother and mother-in-law I have to say that Abbey Wood Lodge is of the highest standards that I have seen. My Aunt has recently moved here after we realised she couldn't live alone anymore and we are more than happy with the decision that we chose here.
The
cleanliness of the home and beautifully furnished lounges and bedrooms are impeccable. The meals are prepared to what you would think of hotel standard and the friendly staff are very attentive. Activities at Abbey Wood Lodge are of such that there is always something being planned and there is wide variety of events to suit everyone. I would have no hesitation in recommending Abbey Wood Lodge to anyone.

My husband regularly comes into the home for respite, I have decided to also come into this beautiful home for a little holiday to recharge my batteries and with the possibility, if I make that important decision to live here, I would not have any worries coming to live here.
There is so much going
on here either going to lovely restaurants, trips and great entertainment supported by a great care team. My friends visit me which means you never know we all could be living together in the future, watch this space. This home is very well run the owner of this care home should be very proud of himself for providing a very high standard of care and full adult social life in the community, more care homes like Abbey Wood Lodge would be very welcomed as we all are getting older.

A big thank you to all the staff at Abbey Wood Lodge for their dedication and expertise. After being diagnosed two years with Alzheimers dad lost his ability to draw sketch and paint which had been a great part of his life. Since becoming a resident and after we displayed some of his work in his room
we were encouraged to bring his art materials so that the team could try to reconnect with this one lived pastime. Today dad has not only started to sketch he has also had several residents and staff sketching in an impromptu art group, this is truly fantastic news well done and thank you to everyone.

My grandma has been at Abbey Wood now for 1 month and she loves it. It's easy to go in and visit whenever I want and the residents and staff are always in good spirits. Abbeywood encourages families to get involved and join in with the activities as much as possible.

It was on March 25th 2015 when I arrived at Abbey Wood Lodge, about ten days after I had fractured my hip.
I wanted to move into a care home after my treatment in hospital was complete: and so here I am. I am treated with care and respect, nourished with good tasty food, enjoying the companionships
of members in the same age group and care from members of a younger age group. Plenty of time to knit baby clothes for young families. What more could an octogenarian wish for?!

My auntie has lived at Abbey Wood Lodge (AWL) for over a year. She is very happy and very well cared for. In her own words "they are all very good here" (the staff). She is encouraged to sing and play the piano (in the front lounge, not disturbing residents wishing to relax in the back lounge overlooking
the park). She enjoys the many outings e.g. Pamper visits to beauty dept, afternoon tea in Liverpool or New Brighton, trips to Llandudno and Southport. There is plenty of entertainment in AWL as well.


If she wants to be in her own room and watch TV or do puzzles, that is OK too. She has that freedom of choice. Everyone is treated as an individual and their preferences are respected.


AWL involves elders who live in the community too. My mother has greatly enjoyed several Friendship Day outings where non residents are warmly welcomed e.g. a trip to Windermere, afternoon tea in Liverpool and and dinner at a restaurant.


Managers, seniors and carers do a great job.

Absolutely cannot fault the time my Grandad has spent at Abbey Wood Lodge. Whenever we visit or attend an event it's heartwarming to watch the carers with the residents and to see how genuine their relationships are. My Grandad is having a wonderful time at this care hotel, the daily pictures of him
speak for themselves! He was settled in brilliantly by staff in 2015 and is now a solid member of their family. So pleased we moved him the hundreds of miles to our hometown for him to enjoy this time in his life. Thank you Abbey Wood Lodge, with all of our love.

My 91 year old Mum has mild Alzheimer's and had 1 week respite care at Abbey Wood Lodge from 23 June . On returning home she was included in some of the activities and trips out. On Sunday 17 July Mum decided she wanted to return to 'Happywood' on a permanent basis. After discussion with her 5 daughters,
spread across the globe, New Zealand, Switzerland, south of England and 2 local daughters it was agreed that this would be a good and safe option for Mum. Unfortunately after the first week Mums mood changed, luckily because of the quick response by the staff an early UTI was diagnosed and antibiotics prescribed. As a family, though Mum's decision, a very difficult time, but Abbey Wood have been fantastic both with Mum and her 5 fussing daughters. Thank you so much for helping Mum keep her independence in a safe environment. Regular posting on Facebook of their fun times are a great help, especially to family who can't just pop in.

Abbey Wood Lodge care home is a typical caring home of the future the attitude of all the carers speaks volumes to their credit.
All resident have a full and active life which applies to residents that need extra care, they are first and foremost.
When my time comes this is where I want to be, what
more can I say.
The home welcomes people from other communities in order to include them in everything. Abbey Wood Lodge puts forward and activates which successfully is achieved by all members of management and staff.

My mum has only just gone into care and much to my surprise has settled in well. At first she refused to come out of her room but with great patience from the staff she is now joining in a lot more and her personal hygiene has improved with encouragement from her care givers. At Abbey Wood Lodge there is a really good atmosphere, as soon as you walk in the door. All the staff are helpful and informed. The residents are very well looked after and entertained with regular trips out with lots of mental input. I feel my mum is safe, well looked after and happy.

My mum has just stayed at Abbey Wood Lodge for her third visit since my dad died last year on respite weeks for me. I was very impressed with the way the staff are with the residents. My mum really enjoyed her stay there and it gives me so much peace of mind knowing she is looked after and she is happy.
Mum will be 90 years old in February but does not look it and is quite healthy for her age.
My mum is due for another week in September and is quite looking forward to it.

My close friend died here of a brain tumour and she had been here for over 12 months. Sadly my connection continues as my badminton partner of earlier days is here. I find conditions always bright and cheerful, staff extremely attentive and caring and lots of various activities. There are numerous outings
for meals or interests and I have witnessed things like Sinatra tributes where as many as possible gets up to dance. There has been a trip for afternoon tea and a ladies day breakfast. The only weakness as far as I can see is a very small garden- new outside facilities would be good.
