Since moving into the home in May 2017, my mother has blossomed. The staff are caring and attentive and treat all residents as individuals. They give consideration to my mother's likes/dislikes. There is plenty of entertainment and activities to stimulate my mother. Staff are approachable.

My dad has been in Aria for the last 2 years and has been extremely well cared for. He always looks clean and tidy. His clothes are well cared for, as is the home itself. The home tries many activities to keep all residents occupied and put on numerous shows throughout the year and relatives are encouraged
to share in the enjoyment.

A friendly, clean, light, bright environment with what would appear a high staff to resident ratio. Staff always seem to be attentive friendly and caring, in surroundings that (possibly due to it's former use as a hotel) feel far from institutionalised and promote a sense of busy involvement and banter
between staff, residents and their families when visiting. Rooms and facilities are always clean and tidy, security would seem to be good and communication between staff and family members regarding issues of health and welfare of residents is again, very good.

I never thought I could be happy with my mother in a care home, however, I am more than happy to be proved wrong.
My mother is extremely happy and settled and I am over the moon for her.
The staff are superb, informative and very caring.
I can rest easy knowing that my mother is very well looked
after in Aria Care Home Newport.
I'd like to say a massive thank you to the staff and management.

Hi Darran, we're all very grateful for your kind review of Aria. We never underestimate how important it is for every member of a family to be happy when a loved one moves to a care home, and knowing that you are now equally as happy as your mother has become living with us is the greatest compliment we could receive. Thank you again.

Aria has been amazing, my mam was not a willing participant in moving to her new home but it was no longer safe for her to be living alone.
All staff at Aria have gone above and beyond to settle mam into her new life.
They have been patient and gentle with her, getting to know her and her likes and
dislikes. There’s always something for the residents to do, whether it be singing and dancing to chair-based exercises, or planting things in the garden and watching them grow residents have a range of activities they can become involved in.
The home is always clean and tidy with the family of residents always made to feel welcome when visiting loved ones.

My mum has been resident at Aria Care Home for 5 months and I could not wish for better care than she receives. It can be very difficult to get mum to take medication or co-operate with her personal needs being attended to, however, the patience and care displayed by the carers at Aria Care Home never
wavers. Mum has a very poor appetite and every effort is made to encourage her to eat even going as far as making her sandwiches and yoghurt drinks to encourage her to take some nourishment. Visitors are always made to feel welcome and unannounced visiting is fine, this is a good indicator of an open and honest culture. The other residents seem comfortable and happy and I believe the staff really care about their wellbeing, taking time to find out about their "previous lives" and to chat with residents and their families. This enables staff to recognise residents as individuals and interact with them appropriately. No one is forced to take part in activities and the wishes of residents who want "quiet time" are respected. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending Aria Care Home as a safe, caring environment for anyone needing 24/7 dementia care.

My mother has been a resident since August 2016. She was transferred to Aria when her present care home could not meet her needs. We worried about how she would adjust to the change but the staff really went the extra mile to help her settle into her new surroundings. She feels safe here and although
she did not want to end her days at a home - she is 97 - the was no better option than Aria.

Placing a loved one in a home is a difficult process for all involved but Aria was the answer to our prayers. With the dedicated care and kindness my mother has received, she is very happily settled and I cannot praise all the staff enough knowing Mum is in such good hands. The home is spotlessly
clean, maintained to a high standard, bedrooms are fantastic and there is always a lovely atmosphere in the day area. Relatives are always made very welcome by all the friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble for them and it is always a pleasure to visit. They really go that extra mile on special occasions like Christmas, Halloween and Easter with decorations, activities and parties enjoyed by all. It was lovely to see photos displayed this week of them all making Easter bonnets and the Easter Bunny had been too! Everyday residents are treated with kindness and compassion and communication with family is excellent.
Overall this is an outstanding Care Home which I would highly recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.128)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.128) out of 10 for Aria Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.528 for Aria Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (42 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.528

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Aria Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
