Quinton Gardens is more than you could wish for from a nursing home. The staff are amazing at their job, kind, patient and caring. They treat the residents as a family and family members too. Although through Covid, visiting has been restricted and still not returned to normal, I have complete confidence
that my father will be well looked after and cared for. I am able to contact someone easily to ask after my father anytime I wish. The staff keep me updated of any change in my father's health. I would and have recommended Quinton Gardens to anyone looking to put their loved one into care. Thank you.

Our Dad was with Quinton Gardens for approximately three years and although we never wanted him to go to a nursing home, we always felt so grateful that we found Quinton Gardens. The staff were always so caring, compassionate and treated Dad with dignity. When we visited before lockdown, they always
made us feel welcome with smiles, a cup of tea and a chat. It felt like a home and we could tell that Dad was very comfortable and felt safe. Once in lockdown, every effort was made to keep us in touch with Dad with zoom and telephone calls. I cannot thank you enough, Quinton Gardens team, for everything you have done for our Dad, I will always be grateful.

My wife, who has Alzheimer's has been in Quinton Gardens since January 2020. She has had outstanding care and support from day one. I have found all of the staff that I have encountered knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and supportive and have been kept up to date with any issues which have arisen. She
is now reacting well with the staff. I have been able to visit during the pandemic crisis, thanks to the special steps taken to ensure her safety and compliance with COVID-19 regulations. I am pleased and relieved that she is in the right place for her at this time.

My wife, suffering from vascular dementia, has been a resident now for nearly 2 years. During that time she has been looked after with every care and great love by the wonderful staff, in spite of her occasional dementia inspired tantrums.
I cannot imagine anywhere being better.

A caring culture exists with all members of staff. I was constantly kept informed of all issues relating to my mother. The atmosphere in the place is more like a hotel, with no unpleasant smells.

The staff always make visitors welcome and offer them tea on arrival. They have coped well with the 2020 lockdown and dementia. Staff enter information into a computer system, there is a screen in every room. The relationship with the local doctor is excellent and the staff always report any incidents.
Unfortunately,
there is no hairdresser at present. My mum often is asleep, but when she wakes the sides are pulled up on the bed, so she is unable to reach the side table which has her beloved radio and the home was unable to put a phone into her room for us to call her.

Quinton Gardens is an outstanding nursing home in every way. The care from the staff towards my husband was really fantastic. They were gentle when washing him and careful each time they moved him. Each time I left him I knew he was in a lovely place.

During the two and a half years that my wife was resident here, she received the very best care possible. Each member of staff showed kindness, consideration and treated her with dignity at all times.

As a family, we were recommended this care home by my mother's at home carer. My mum came into care before Christmas last year. The staff have been very supportive in that my mum has not been the easiest person to deal with showing signs of violence when experiencing personal care. Unfortunately, she
has had an infection which has taken time to clear but she is on the mend and her appetite has much improved.

On mum's arrival at Quinton Gardens she was treated with excellent care by all the staff. They look after the residents extremely well and nothing is too much trouble. Mum is well looked after with personal hygiene, meals and staff on hand 24 hours a day.
Quinton Gardens was our saviour when we, the
family, needed someone to look after mum after coming out of hospital.

Felt very supported by all staff and management, they are looking after my mother to the highest standard. We as a family have been let down by the system, it is an uneasy, stressful time. We hope to secure Mum a permanent place.

From the management to the staff, I cannot fault. From dedication to courteousness, my mother is treated extremely well, couldn't ask for more.
Like everything, nothing is perfect and there is one point I'd like to touch upon.
Over the last few months, my husband and I have noticed that the odour
is unpleasant at times.

My mother was admitted to Quinton Gardens (Quinton House) Christmas Eve and has been made to feel very very welcome. The care and the management have gone above and beyond their manner of care. Words cannot express my family and I's gratitude to all concerned. A big thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.463)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.463) out of 10 for Quinton Gardens is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.663 for Quinton Gardens is calculated as follows: ( (66 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.663

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Quinton Gardens is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
