Located opposite the beautiful Burton Waters Marina, this purpose-built home offers stunning views of the boats and yachts on show as well as the Lincolnshire countryside, and the gardens are extensive and tranquil.

The home offers a relaxed environment to all including those individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.

Following a hip replacement, I had a wonderful three weeks of convalescence at Tennyson Wharf. The Hospital's care was definitely sub-standard, so it was with relief and gratitude that I was welcomed into Tennyson Wharf and with the care and sympathy of all staff, who showed a real understanding of
my needs.


From my first visit to look around until the day I departed, I was met with warmth, friendliness, kindness and compassion. Nothing was too much trouble; the surroundings were soothing and relaxing; the food was first rate and I had some lovely discussions with all sorts of different people. I could stay in my room all day if I wished, or join in with activities as much as I wished; the carers were always accommodating.


I can thoroughly recommend Tennyson Wharf, whether for a short stay or permanent residence and I consider myself extremely lucky to have stayed in such a happy, comfortable and accommodating setting, with exceptional staff, even for such a short time.

A beautiful, well-kept home, in a great location, clean with a friendly atmosphere, and always a smile on the helpful carers. I would highly recommend it. All residents enjoy the cafe area where they can socialise and take part in the activities on offer.

My mum moved into Barchester Tennyson Wharf Care Home last October after a successful period of respite care following a broken hip. Last week my mum received the most devastating news, the suicide death of her son. From the moment I rang the home and spoke to the receptionist and then the manager,
the entire team have been utterly amazing. The care, concern and thoughtfulness have been outstanding. Planting memorial bushes, flowers, endless chats and encouragement for my mum have made an unbearable time slightly more bearable.

From the beginning of our friend's residence all staff were very helpful, not only the care staff but kitchen, laundry, domestic, gardening, maintenance and administration staffs. She was treated with dignity throughout her stay. The activities available were appropriate, varied and sensitive. Management
of her care was excellent, even when she was aggressive as part of her dementia journey. Liaison with the GP was good. The diet was varied, with menu options each meal. Catering staff responded to specific needs. Towards the end of her life, staff played video messages from a niece living overseas to her, and the parish priest was able to visit her in her room. The room she had throughout was fantastic and met her wishes for space and light with views over the marina. The home was always clean and well maintained. We had no concerns for her safety and welfare. The Covid-19 situation limited visiting for most of the past 18 months, communication with us was excellent. Thank you all.

My mother-in-law has been here a few times now for respite and arrived home yesterday after her most recent stay. The carehome is in a beautiful spot overlooking the marina, the grounds are lovely with a lot of effort to keep it beautiful, flowers and vegetables growing around the grounds with a lovely
seating area.
The home smells nice, you can see the residents sitting around the main area chatting and they look very settled and happy.
The whole home is beautiful inside, the rooms are lovely, food is three courses, three times a day, a fabulous selection of food, drink, snacks, tailored to the residents.
My mother-in-law can be quite "challenging" let's call it and the staff are very sweet with her and ensure she has everything she requires.
Good communication from staff and management, nothing too much trouble.
It's so refreshing being able to have respite knowing that she is in the best care.

I cannot recommend Tennyson Wharf highly enough. The care and attention given by ALL members of the team are exemplary. The menu is very varied, nutritious and beautifully cooked and served. The views across the manor and the gardens are beautiful too!

I regularly visit a lady in this care home, she always looks well cared for clean and neatly dressed her room always looks clean and more importantly she always looks relaxed and happy in the home. She says the meals are good and she is always showing me something that she has made or telling me about
the activities she has been doing.

After a lot of research on all local care homes. I choose Tennyson Warf for my mother. They have gone way beyond my expectations in making her feel at home and including her in activities. She is always delighted with meals and enjoys sitting outside in the lovely gardens. It is a relief to know um

I was fortunate to attend Tennyson Wharf on the occasion of a 105th-year-old's birthday. The home has been decorated with balloons and flowers. The red arrows had been arranged to fly past. She had been pampered and totally spoilt. A singer had been engaged and 12+ staff assembled to wish her a happy
birthday. The staff could not have been more accommodating and really made her day.

I am extremely satisfied with the care my Mum is receiving at Tennyson Wharf. Any questions, issues, or needs are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Although it is an emotional transition from living in your own home to moving into residential care, it couldn’t have gone any better. We as a family
are very grateful for the patience and care of everyone at the home offers Mum. She enjoys the quiz afternoons and particularly enjoyed Burns night (in the afternoon). Thank you all for looking after her and keep up the great work!

Came here on discharge from hospital, very impressed by strict quarantine care (14 days). Food excellent, such lovely, cheerful staff, so caring. My sons arranged my place here. They chose well.

Hello, I am Sarah Noutch, General Manager at Tennyson Wharf. I first registered as a nurse in 2003. I began my career in the NHS working in the medical division. I came to Tennyson Wharf having worked at Barchester’s Lancaster Grange care home as General Manager.


I am passionate about delivering good quality, personalised care. This is reflected within the fantastic team we have here at Tennyson Wharf. I am always available for a coffee and a chat and welcome you to meet our care team and view our home.


Tracie

Tracie Roberts

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2015

Tracie began her career within the care industry around 13 years ago when she began working in the community where she worked as a Senior Carer, then a Team Leader for Age UK.


Tracie decided she would like a change in her career and work in a care home where she joined the team at Tennyson Wharf in 2015, just 2 months after it opened. She really enjoys her role as Deputy Manager, working alongside Sarah to support our magnificent team and residents.


Karen

Karen Holmes

Job Title: Administrator

Joined: 2022

Karen joined Tennyson Wharf in April 2022 as the home`s Administrator. Previously Karen worked for another care provider for 20 years so comes with tons of experience.


Karen enjoys being able to help and support people and is pleased to be able to do this as part of her job role at Tennyson Wharf and gets satisfaction from being able to offer help to the lovely residents and their families with anything relating to finances or administration as well as interacting with our residents on a daily basis to make their lives more enjoyable.


In her spare time, Karen enjoys spending time with her family going for long walks with her dog. Karen also likes travelling and holidays especially to the Greek Islands, Skiathos and Zakynthos being 2 of her favourite destinations to date.


Dawn

Dawn Bailey

Job Title: Head Chef

Joined: 2014

Dawn is our Head Chef who joins the team here at Tennyson Wharf with a wealth of catering experience.


Dawn was military-trained and latterly worked in the RAF as a Chef. She is passionate about delivering freshly prepared, nutritious meals with a person-centred approach.


In her spare time, Dawn enjoys keeping fit by running and visiting the gym, and she also has a young family to keep her busy.


Andrew

Andrew Nevard

Job Title: Head of Maintenance

Joined: 2023

Andrew joined the Tennyson Wharf family in February 2023.


He has over 30+ years of experience working in Maintenance within the Hotel industry but decided he wanted a change.


Andrew is settling into his role at Tennyson Wharf very well and nothing is too much trouble. He has a passion for helping others and loves engaging with our residents and staff.


In his spare time, Andrew is a lover of the outdoors and walking.


Michelle

Michelle Taylor

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping

Joined: 2017

Michelle had over 15 years of experience in the cleaning industry before coming to join the Tennyson Wharf team as a care assistant for 3 years before taking on the role of head of housekeeping in July 2021.


Michelle loves to ensure the home is kept clean for our residents and their relatives to enjoy when they come to visit. Her favourite part of her job is working alongside a great team and spending time with the residents, learning about their lives and what is important to them.
