Abney Court is a purpose-built care home set within the beautiful grounds of Abney Hall Park in Cheadle. The care home provides residential, respite care and compassionate end of life care, as well as specialist dementia care.

The friendly and caring team at Abney Court get to know each resident and put together a care plan that is tailored to their unique needs. They ensure residents can lead a fulfilling, independent and enjoyable life.

Abney Court is a lovely building in a lovely area. All the staff are very helpful and take pride in what they do and clearly enjoy their job. It's a very clean environment and the rooms are very spacious and well facilitated. Only negative thing I have to say is there could be more activities.

Overall I feel the care that my gran has received has been good. The care home is always very clean. The rooms are a good size. There have been some concerns with medication being given late, however things seem to have improved recently. Concerns regarding my gran have always been dealt with by the
care home by asking a doctor to come and review. However we have not always been informed until after the fact. The staff are all very kind and caring and my gran seems to be happy in her new home.

My mum has dementia and has been living alone for the last 3 and a half years with a lot of help from myself and some carers/companions. I must say the transition here has been amazing. My mum seems very happy and entertained. She is always clean and tidy and suitably dressed. My mum has made some lovely
friends here.

Staff are caring and conscientious and interact well with the residents. The facilities are very good and residents are encouraged to interact with each other and to participate in the organised activities. Apart from at meal times, families and friends can visit at any time and are made to feel welcome
by all staff. feedback from staff can be conflicting at times. The care home is surrounded by extensive gardens that provide an excellent environment for residents in good weather.

I came to the home being referred from hospital for intermediate care after having fluid on the lungs. I felt very weak in hospital and unable to do things for myself. Having stayed with you for nearly three weeks. I felt almost completely recovered and able to cope again. Abney Court was an excellent
half way house for me. The staff were all very kind and patient and cared for me well. I enjoyed socialising with other people. The coffee bar was an excellent facility for my visitors. I enjoyed my stay at Abney Court.

My father was apprehensive before his stay but really enjoyed it and will go again next time I go on holiday for respite care. He thinks that the staff were first class and he says that it was good in there! Gives us more options for the future.

My husband an Alzheimer sufferer spent three days of day care at Abney Court prior to a weeks stay for respite care. I was initially worried about how he would cope with a new environment and new staff. I need not have worried he thoroughly enjoyed his day care and it became clear immediately that he
was relaxed and settled due to the standard of care and attention that he received. This continued throughout the period of respite care. Wen I visited it was comforting and re-assuring to see how relaxed and happy he was. There was much evidence that the staff and the facilities combine to produce a supportive and caring atmosphere. The staff were brilliant and it meant that I to could relax, safe in the knowledge that he was being very well cared for at all times. Thank You

I came to Abney Court for respite, after being placed in an awful care home. Initially I came for a week, but enjoyed it so much I stayed another week. Would not hesitate to book myself in again should the situation occur!

My 91 year old nanna who suffers from Alzheimer's came to Abney Court for respite care. Abney Court was just newly opened when we arrives. It has been beautifully decorated and is clean, bright and airy. The staff have been wonderful, especially the manager who has been there for us from the initial
visit, making sure everything runs smoothly. My nana always has a carer with her and they always treat her with dignity and respect, seeming to go that extra mile to make sure she is happy. My nanna has been pampered in the hair salon, having her hair, nail and feet done, and has really enjoyed the range of activities provided for her. The only really downside is the cost compared to other care home which is ok for a little break, but I thing we would struggle permanently.

Job Title: Home Manager

I have 14 years of experience in adult social care and children's services.


I’ve worked hard through the years to gain skills and knowledge in many areas of health and social care for adults and children, and I have progressed through numerous roles over the years. Most recently, I achieved a registered manager’s role.


In this role, my focus is on ensuring we provide quality care and that residents and their families are happy. You need to have patience, good communication and listening skills and empathy. I love communicating with residents, their families and my colleagues. Every day I feel inspired to work alongside my team to provide good standards of care.


Knowing that we provide a positive environment and good quality of life for residents makes me proud in my role.
