Fountains Lodge is a purpose-built dementia home offering both residential and nursing care. The home offers short stays too (including palliative care), to help both carers and their elderly loved ones at times when they need a break or a little extra support.

All bedrooms are tastefully decorated and offer en suite facilities, while some come with patio doors providing direct garden access. The home also own café as well as lounges and private dining areas for family and friends to come and enjoy when visiting their loved ones or celebrating a birthday or anniversary together.

Fountains Lodge is situated in Southborough, Tunbridge Wells a few minutes from all its amenities – shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, and has good transport and road links, making it ideally located for visiting family and friends.

At Fountains Lodge, staff take great care to focus on the person. It’s important for residents to feel at home, so it creates a friendly environment with an individually appropriate balance of care and independence.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients and try to cater for all ethnicity groups. Soon after a resident arrives at Fountains Lodge, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

The staff have been wonderfully supportive, both to my wife and family. There is such a friendly and happy atmosphere at Fountains Lodge. The staff are very committed and nothing is too much trouble.
I have often recommended Fountains Lodge to others.

My wife has been a resident for Fountains Lodge for the past 3 1/2 years and died there on 19th December.
I have nothing but thanks and admiration for the staff who looked after her, fed her, washed her and never failed to show their love and kindness. They looked after her extremely well and I couldn't
ask for more.

My father was a resident for just over a year. He received exceptional care form all members of staff. The quality and variety of the food were very good and the residents were frequently checked to ascertain how much they ate. The occupational staff varied the activities to try to include everyone.

I cannot praise the staff and facilities at Fountains Lodge highly enough. Moving to a care home is not easy for many elderly persons but my dad was treated with respect and love by all staff. Ten out of ten.

I visit my aunt regularly. She is always immaculate and very well cared for. The staff treat her with the utmost dignity and never forget her as a person with a history who has had a full active life.

I now have both parents being cared for at Fountains. I can't speak highly enough of the care that they are receiving. From the manager to the cleaners, everyone is part of the team. In the two years, I have never once heard anyone be anything but courteous, kind, encouraging and understanding with
residents (and I can overhear everything being there so often).
The staff go out of their way to provide an environment that provides comfort, cleanliness and care. They are upbeat, keep in touch and do as much as they can to help, coming up with coping strategies for inevitable problems that crop up.
The manager is excellent and I feel that the home has flourished in terms of what it is offering residents and especially in the continuity of care (so very important with dementia) since he arrived a couple of years ago.
There are staff who are in charge of activities. Music plays a bit part in the home, the food is fabulous, most home cooked. Great garden too. Thank you Fountains.

Sadly mum's dementia has deteriorated to the extent that she has been bed-bound since the beginning of the year. At all times she is treated with the greatest respect for her dignity, genuine affection and gentle humour to ensure life remains as comfortable and "normal" as possible. The support given
to myself is equally superb. If you had a category higher than excellent I would award it to all the staff of Fountains Lodge!

My mother has been a resident since October 2015. She receives dementia and nursing care.
The staff give Mum great care and support and she is always treated with dignity. Although she is confined to a wheelchair and can’t remember who or where she is half the time, she remains happy. Her bedroom
is spacious and she has her own furniture to make her feel at home. She enjoys her walks around the garden with me or a staff member. I am made to feel welcome whenever I turn up, as are friends and other families. As care homes go, she couldn’t be in a better place. Thank you, Fountains.

This home has looked after my father for two and a half years. The building is purpose built and is well maintained and equipped. The standard of care and kindness shown to my father by staff at all levels, from cleaners to the manager is exemplary. Consequently, the atmosphere is calm and friendly
and my father seems contented and secure.

My mother was in the downstairs part of the building.
Some of the staff were very caring and kind (especially the activities lady).
Some were brusque and not caring at all.
Overall a pretty mixed experience.

My husband has been a resident of Fountains Lodge since September 2016, needing full nursing care. From that time the carers, nurses, administrative staff and the manager have looked after him well, also the staff in the kitchen, housekeeping and laundry - every department in fact.
Activities staff
have involved him as much as possible considering his disabilities. There are some things which it is difficult to point out with just a tick in a box. These are the patience, compassion and understanding shown to my husband and also to me, which has been exceptional.
Although our family live some distance away, they are welcomed and made to feel at home and I have complete confidence that my husband will be well cared for whenever I am away visiting them.

My sense of relief finding Fountains Lodge was immense.

Having your father go into a home is a horrendous thing, particularly when you co-cared for him full time for the previous immediate period. I was concerned if my father's innate physical ability and desire to walk and move would be curtailed but although he is now much more sedentary due to the progression
of the disease, he has been able to walk freely in long corridors, big lounges and a garden.


There are some care staff who you can tell have the knowledge and experience of being in an environment and interacting with, specifically, elderly people with Alzheimer's. They don't judge and try to tell you what would be good to do because it is presumed you don't know. When you are visiting, they give you that time with your loved one.


It seems a good, respectful, trying place. Thank you.

In the two years my husband has been in this care home he has consistently received the very best of care by all the staff. The excellent management team ensure that standards across the board are the highest calibre. Thus the carers and nursing staff are efficient, attentive, friendly, compassionate
and cheerful. The home itself is bright and clean and the garden provides additional sensory opportunities. Meals are nutritious with all needs catered for.
I am so grateful and relieved that my husband is safe and comfortable. I cannot praise this particular care home highly enough.

As power of attorney for a friend of 30 years, I visited many homes until I came across Fountains Lodge.
I knew instantly this was going to be the perfect place in all regards.
From meeting somebody in accounts initially, and over the last seventeen months getting to know the staff, I realise more
and more I made the correct decision.
They are a truly dedicated team and it does not matter what time of the day/night I visit, everything is run professionally with added love and care.
Her room is always immaculate and so is she.
I am treated exceptionally well too and feel it really is home from home.
I have highly recommended Fountains Lodge to a friend and her mother in law is now a resident.
She joined Fountains Lodge two months ago.

Carers are compassionate and hard-working. They work in my mother's best interests. Her Parkinsons is very difficult as it affects her inconsistently and coupled with another disability, it means her requirements are unusual but as demanding as other residents. The home is not perfect, but we regard
it very highly and are very grateful for the level of care provided.
