Everything about the service and care is excellent.
The premises are superbly maintained and presented. The staff are all efficient, approachable and caring. Everyone genuinely appears to have a real passion for the people and the job as a whole.
I have in the short time that my mother has been resident
noticed that already the staff are aware of her particular likes, dislikes and restrictions.
If I am ever in a similar situation I hope that I can find a place as great as Cavell Court for my care.

My mum stayed in Cavell Court for nearly two years before she died. She had always been clear that she didn't want to spend any time in any care home, but her failing health left us with no other option. Despite her reservations about going to Cavell Court, she found comfort and happiness there which
I really don't think she had expected. The fact that the building is relatively new and brightly furnished undoubtedly helped. However, it was the quality of the care team which made all the difference to my mum. The team cared for her with professionalism, kindness, sympathy, and perhaps most importantly, a sense of humour. As a regularly visiting relative, I also found the care team a wonderful source of support and good humour.

Having been to 2 previous care homes and been disappointed with various things, mainly in the environment for friends and family visits and lack of activities, I have found Cavell Court "as it says on the tin".
Lovely staff and a great place to visit. Our 6-year-old granddaughter loves seeing her nana
and my wife is visibly content. Well done to everyone involved.

I find the staff kind and helpful although at times they do seem very pushed to cope, they could do with a few more on at times.

My mum was very happy here. Lately, things have changed. There seems to be considerable churn in the staffing. Weekends can be very thin. Today's menu says choice of takeaway, where's the chef? She has considerable dietary needs and no longer remembers that, so the staff are supposed to keep a watch
for her. Found her today with considerable stomach pain and upset. Her ensuite toilet has been out of action for a couple of weeks now. Weekend staff do not seem as well informed or plentiful as those on weekdays.
These things have all been discussed with the manager, and it is sad to see this re-occurring.

We fully appreciate your comments regarding staffing levels and understand that the ratio may appear lower on weekends due to fewer management team members working; however, the suite staffing ratio on all floors remains the same on weekends as during the week. We always endeavour to ensure all weekend and weekday staff are as fully informed as possible about the residents they are caring for, including your mother. We are more than happy to discuss any of your concerns raised and welcome your feedback that will help us to make the necessary improvements to our service.


We pride ourselves on providing a range of enjoyable activities to residents and occasionally this includes takeaway evenings, which is a popular activity here at Cavell Court. Our takeaway evenings are a social activity for residents and choices range from pizza night through to enjoying traditional fish and chips. On these occasions our chefs will always provide alternative home-cooked options, should a resident not wish to have a takeaway and taking each resident’s dietary needs into consideration. Staff at Cavell Court show a very caring and patient attitude towards the residents. This has also been the case towards ourselves when visiting our family member. The home is clean and well run. Communication by administration staff is very good. All aspects of care from laundry care to food and amenities

My husband was looked after in the most exemplary manner. The staff were kind and considerate to us, his family. I've marked down the cleanliness because I have to ask for the bins in his room to be emptied twice. Apart from that, I cannot fault Cavell Court care home.

My mum has been a resident with you since January 2009 although I have not been able to visit her until May I have heard excellent things about your place. Mum seems very settled and happy in her environment and very much enjoys the company and the facilities at Cavell Court in Cringleford. I hope she

Cavell Court is a purpose built care home, we viewed lots before choosing this one, but this one stood head and shoulders above the rest.


The staff, facilities, and nursing care are excellent.


Uniquely amongst the ones we looked at, Cavell Court has dedicated areas for those with dementia, those

needing respite care, those requiring end of life nursing care provided by qualified nurses and care assistants, and for residents who simply need a care home.


The residents' rooms are spacious, with an en-suite toilet and shower, wardrobe, drawer units and wall mounted TV.


The Lifestyle Team engage with residents and give them enrichment with activities based upon each residents capabilities and wishes.


There is a cafe for residents and their visitors and a cinema and a hairdressers.


There is also a beautifully maintained and resident friendly enclosed, secure garden, for residents and families to enjoy.


Yet, with all these facilities and care resources costs are comparable with other care homes we looked at.

The first impression of Cavell Court as we entered reception was a friendly welcome from both receptionist and admin manager. The home is clean and tidy, secure and all the staff were helpful. They make dad comfortable 'like home' in his new bedroom and ensuite bathroom with views over the fields to
the hospital. There was a nice welcome also at the dining area from other residents. Good quality hot food and snacks are available at all times. Different lounges and TV.

Had, unfortunately, to seek a care home for my mother when she developed dementia and mobility issues.
Looked at five homes in total, with varying degrees of 'whelmedness' but was really impressed by Cavell Court and signed up on the spot: modern building with clean, bright interior and a very welcoming
feel - entrance brings you into a coffee shop where you can help yourself to hot drinks and a tasty selection of cakes, all for just a small donation. Lovely, spacious, well-equipped rooms, with a cinema and hairdressing salon on the ground floor, and a 'potting room' with pet guinea pigs adjacent to the central courtyard.
What really made the decision for us, though, was the 'vibe' from the staff: everyone here is very friendly, welcoming, eager to help, very engaged with the residents they are looking after, and there are lots of planned activities - after just ten days it is clear that Mum really feels at home here.
We would unhesitatingly recommend Cavell Court.

I found the care and conditions of the above care home to be of a very high standard. At times communication from management was lacking, probably due to changes. Regular staff were kind and considerate to both myself and my relative. Office staff were kind and helpful and those coming in from outside
were sensitive and thoughtful too.
I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to others.

My father suffers with dementia and mobility issues and as such, the hard decision was made to place dad in a care home. We spoke to a few homes and when we visited Cavell Court, it was obviously somewhere where both the staff and residents were happy. When we first looked at Cavell Court, it had a
low CQC rating but it’s since been re-assessed as good and we’d have to agree with them.
The staff care and engage with the residents, events are organised with the aim of stimulating the residents. Another really nice touch is the coffee shop, this allows relatives to visit in a far more sociable setting. All in all, it’s a lovely place with caring staff.

Job Title: Home Manager

I qualified as a Nurse in Portugal in 2010, and my first care job in the UK was for Care UK.


I left after five years to progress my career, but I decided to return because I believe in Care UK’s values and commitment to caring for residents.


Care UK is the best place I have ever worked. The support provided to colleagues is fantastic. Providing care is about being passionate and committed. As Home Manager, I believe it’s important to listen to and support residents, relatives and colleagues in the home on a day-to-day basis. I work hard to make a difference in their lives.


The safety and wellbeing of the residents living at Cavell Court of the utmost importance to me, and ensuring all procedures are followed is an important part of my role. My favourite part of the day is walking around the home every morning to talk to each resident and team member.


When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family. I enjoy time in the garden and do DIY at home.
