Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

We are sorry to hear that the food offering has not always met your expectations. I understand that our head chef has now meet with you to discuss your personal preferences and will continue to ensure there is something on the menu every day to suit your requirements. We take great care in our menu planning, taking feedback from residents, relatives and staff, to offer a variety choice that suits all residents tastes. We appreciate not everyone enjoys herbs and spices and we, therefore, ensure our sauces are served separately so that residents can choose how much or little they would like with their meal. We’d also like to assure you that continuity of care is important to us and we endeavour to use as little agency staff as possible, although there are occasions when this is unavoidable. The majority of staff are friendly and it is nice to see them speak to the residents, not just attend to their needs.

We’re grateful for your feedback and are delighted with the positive comments around our activities and trips out. Regarding your comments on our team, we use a key core team on Oak suite, so that residents see familiar faces every day. We also rotate staff through the unit as part of their induction and development and this helps to ensure that a number of staff within the home are familiar with the residents. As a guide, we have four members of staff on Oak and would never assign more than one carer who is not familiar with the unit on at any one time. On the day shift, we used no temporary staff on Oak during July. I would like to assure you we do a full dependency analysis for each resident which is used to plan staff deployment accordingly to make sure care is safe and appropriate for each resident’s needs, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Management of the home has also improved in the last 8 months, it feels to me that the staff are valued as well as the residents which is as it should be.
All in all, I am very happy with my mum's care - we are very lucky that we can relax in the knowledge that mum is in a safe and happy place.

Job Title: Home Manager

I’ve worked for Care UK for nearly a decade now. Before joining the organisation I was a laboratory technician and a registered childminder. When I was looking for a new challenge, I heard great things about Care UK and how its people were supported to develop. That’s certainly been my experience. I started as a carer and have worked my way up.
I’ve been at Hartismere Place since 2018 as Deputy Manager, so I know everyone here very well. I’ve seen the home grow and flourish, but there’s always more we can do to improve how we work and what we offer to residents, and I’m looking forward to continuing to enhance what we do.
I love walking around the home and having lovely interactions with the residents. They make my day, as do the great colleagues I work alongside. There’s always a lot of laughter at Hartismere Place, which creates a great atmosphere.
Outside of work, I’m a keen biker, my husband and I ride all over East Anglia. I also enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, and socialising with friends.
