Being a former RGN nurse who has working in nursing, this is one of the nicest I have been in. The staff are good and very helpful, it is very different being a resident to being a healthcare professional. Anything you need is provided for and explained in a helpful manner. Meals and entertainment is
very good.

Such a welcoming place! From the first time, we contacted The Place and helped to settle my brother in, all the staff have been helpful and welcoming. Needless to say, the facilities and activities are good and varied, so like every day is safe, comfortable and with plenty to be involved in if a resident
needs them. Very pleased with all that is offered and the standard of care.

This is a brilliant place to be taken care of. The staff are absolutely brilliant. I have no complaints at all, the staff including domestics are great, helpful, caring and supportive. The activity coordinator is also wonderful.

In October 2021 my aunt moved into the home as she was no longer able to care for herself at home,
From day one we knew the right decision had been made she settled in very well over the next months,
Her health deteriorated so her care needs changed. I feel that the staff are meeting my aunt's needs
to the best of their ability she is well cared for and happy and we as a family are kept up to date on any changes as and when required. When I visit the home I always feel welcome and made comfortable by the staff. If I had any issues I feel confident that I could approach the management/ staff and these would be dealt with. Keep up the good work you do well in a very challenging environment.

The main care staff are lovely and caring but the management cannot handle complaints adequately. Residents wander around the home alone, unsupervised, often in a distressed state or confused and the staff are nowhere to be seen. There is often a strong smell of urine in the corridors. Cleaning staff
do not know how to clean properly. Residents enter other residents' bedrooms freely and often verbally abuse innocent residents - no staff presence. When too many complaints are made management removes residents from facilities such as en-suite rooms as 'punishment'

Thank you for positive feedback in relation to the care team. However, some of your other comments are inaccurate and misleading. The reason why the resident in question was given notice, was due to the ongoing and repeated instances of aggression directed towards staff by the relatives. Management will not tolerate our staff being abused in any way.
In relation to your other points:
With regards to complaints, the management team will always be open and honest and will take appropriate action where necessary. We welcome complaints as this supports us in making improvements to the care we deliver. We will provide responses to the local authority where needed. In this case, the local authority deemed our response to be satisfactory.
Our residents can mobilise around the home freely, and we do not place unnecessary restrictions upon people. We want our residents to be as independent as possible, whilst still maintaining safety for residents and staff. We operate the service on an above-industry-average staffing ratio.
Our domestic team work hard to make the environment odour-free.
Under no circumstances would we be punitive towards or punish residents.

The staff was difficult to find (couldn't find staff). Residents wandering corridors. The corridors were clean (but smelled of urine). The room was clean but stuffy and messy (the resident was not aided in keeping the room tidy as things in strange places were not put away properly). Access to any rooms
(all unlocked) residents in any room are free to wander into all rooms! No visible cleaning rotas or resident shower rota (not able to say when the resident was last fully bathed) - no en-suite shower or toilet) public toilet small/cramped - no access for frame or wheelchair and very smelly with a wet floor!) Faulty entrance/exit door. The staff I had contact with were pleasant and helpful.

My grandmother moved into your home during COVID and although it was a very difficult time the staff there made us feel at ease and kept us updated on her care. Initially, only window visits were allowed until you had a room converted to accommodate inside visits in a pod-like room to keep our relatives
safe. This was of great benefit to my family and we appreciated all the help that we received in those initial months from the lady on the front desk and the Deputy Manager.


Her carer always kept us updated on my nans care and this really reassured us that we had made the right decision. Although nan is no longer with us we know that the last 2.5 years of her life were made all the better for the care that your staff gave to her from day one to the very end. It has taken a while for me to do this due to a lot of personal loss around the time of losing my nan but I felt that I needed to reach out to say that the above-mentioned staff are a real asset to your company.

My husband was given a warm and friendly welcome when he first arrived at the home (evening time) when he was very confused and frightened and the staff have always been caring and patient with him. I like the fact that I always get a friendly greeting whenever I make my regular but unannounced visitors.

Our registered Manager is Daniel (Dan) Feneysey


Dan started in care as a care assistant and has worked through various roles and climbed the ranks to the position of CQC Registered Manager. This has given Dan a first-hand knowledge of all roles so he can understand and empathise with the team and he can navigate through challenges. As part of Dan’s experience he has worked as deputy in an outstanding rated service so knows what is needed to drive forward and maintain standards in care. Dan studied graphic design at college which is where his enthusiasm for innovation and problem solving comes from, His qualifications are a Level 2 & 3 in health and Social care and a Level 3 & 5 in leadership and Management


Within Dan’s Management experience he has worked with a team to improve standards to a rating of ‘Good’ in all areas rated by CQC. He has also been the manager to two care homes at the same time one in Birmingham and One in Stoke-on-Trent.


Dan has worked over 5 counties and has built some excellent relationships with commissioners, regulatory body's representatives and built his own reputation when leading homes to maintain excellent ratings. His friendly approachable character, professionalism and passion ensures the rights of people he supports are upheld. Dan believes very much on empowering people who live in the service and ensures services are person centred and adapted as people’s needs change.


Dan is a nurturing leader supporting personal development and growth with his team and encouraging of their own achievements and advancing in their careers which is mirrored by the group as a whole.
