We are very pleased with the quality of care Mum is receiving at Glastonbury Court. The team are caring and always on hand to help or explain things to us when we visit.
It is a great relief to the family knowing that Mum is being well cared for and in a safe environment.

Always very friendly and helpful our uncle has settled in well.
Home is always very clean looking the residents all seem happy and contented.
There seems to be several activities for residents to participate in if they so wish.
My only concern is that there seems a little problem when washing is
done as items seem to get miss placed which is very frustrating.

We were all worried about putting my dad into a care home, but the transition went more smoothly than anyone expected and he now objects if anyone suggests taking him out for lunch! He takes part in the activities and has found a few like-minded friends that he can chat too. I think it is safe to say
that he is very happy at Glastonbury Court Care Home.

We have been so happy with the care here at Glastonbury Court, the day staff are wonderful, so kind and caring, and go above and beyond for all of the residents. They are very respectful of residents and their families and are always willing to listen. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Knowing that
my husband is so well cared for has meant that we can enjoy so much happy quality time together in a peaceful and supportive environment, I couldn't recommend Glastonbury Court enough.

Lovely place, the staff are amazing, Dad looks a much better colour, is eating well and his hygiene is 100% better now. The staff are so good with not only my Dad but all the family and friends that visit him. They provide 100% peace of mind for us all and 100% amazing care.

My parents were both delighted to be given such a good introductory tour of Glastonbury Court and even more delighted to be told that accommodation was actually available for a respite fortnight just when my mother needed it. The staff made everything so simple - from initial payment procedures and
actual admission to final packing up and departure.
My mother benefitted enormously from spending two weeks in your care. I know that she found your staff unanimously cheerful and of course helpful. Medications were all delivered on time and no request, from moving the angles of her pillows to helping her navigate her wheelchair in and out of the lift, was considered too much trouble. Visits to your garden were a special treat and no wonder it won this year's Bury in Bloom Award for Care Home Gardens - such originality and humour! As a family we can't thank you enough for looking after my mother so well. The only trouble is that she misses your excellent food.

My parents stayed at several homes in the Bury St Edmunds area for respite periods over 2 years, however Glastonbury Court stood head and shoulders above the others. I therefore can't begin to explain my joy when it was confirmed that they both had permanent care places at Glastonbury Court. The love
and care they have subsequently received by the team is so reassuring along with the warmth given to myself and my family whenever visiting, which we frequently do. Over recent months I have been able to join my father on organised trips to Felixstowe and Lackford Lakes, the type of quality time and excursion I never thought I would be able to experience again during his lifetime. It is only sad that my mother is past having these particular experiences. I could mention so many staff that go above and beyond from carers, activity leaders and office staff but I would be afraid of missing someone out, so a massive heartfelt thanks to you all. You truly are a remarkable team.

My Dad went to Glastonbury Court for a two week respite break. He was certainly well looked after, and he very much enjoyed the food! The staff were all wonderful, always giving time to answer questions. I don't think he made full use of the facilities, as two weeks is a very short time to settle in!
I would recommend Glastonbury Court. It's very inviting, with many different places to sit and chat, as well as the beautiful gardens. He will be returning!

Following a serious head injury and hospitalisation Dad went into the Angel Unit with assumed dementia. After a fortnight he was moved to 'end of life' and remained as such for about a month until he died aged 90.
Initially, he was very unsettled and challenging, but they worked really hard with him
and the GP to settle him and make his life as comfortable as possible, especially at the outset. It was clear they really cared above and beyond the call of duty.
It was noticeable how all the staff on the unit made a point of speaking and smiling to/at us every time we visited. The carers/nurses explained what was happening and nothing was too much trouble.
All the staff we came across were remarkable for their care and skill. They certainly made a traumatic situation for the family much easier to bear. We will always be incredibly grateful.

Our very frail elderly parents came to Glastonbury Court initially for a respite stay. Having settled in super well and been made to feel so very welcome, we jointly agreed that they should stay rather than return home, where ‘a nasty accident was waiting to happen!’ What has marked Glastonbury Court
out is the loving care they receive from the excellent and thoughtful carers. They’ve even had a romantic lunch arranged for their 73rd Wedding Anniversary, as well as lots of other little thoughtful touches! Meanwhile, the management and administrative staff have done everything they can to enable the placement for both parents, with the challenge of different funding streams, they consistently go the extra mile to make what needs to happen, happen. Mum and Dad are settled and we are content in the knowledge that they are safe and cared for. Thank you all!

After taking the difficult decision to move our mother into residential care, my sister and I started the trawl to find a new home for her. What a task, made all the more difficult because we were unable to visit our shortlist of properties due to a mix of Covid regulations and both of us needing to
shield. I believe we were incredibly fortunate to find the lovely Customer Relations team at Care UK in Suffolk. With their care and guidance, we moved our mother into Glastonbury Court in February.
The lovely caregivers worked really hard to ensure she settled in, she has nothing but praise for them and our mum is receiving exemplary care.
There's an amazing range of activities on offer and Mum has really benefitted from being encouraged to take part. She can be very cheeky and it is a joy to see her interacting with the caregivers who seem to magic up time to spend with her. It's a lovely, safe and caring environment and we are grateful to have Mum settled in such a special place.

The reception staff are very welcoming. My Mum has been well cared for and has settled in, she seems a lot less anxious which is such a comfort. The care staff I’ve spoken to are very polite and knowledgeable, and all questions asked have been answered. The room is nicely presented. I would recommend

I am very happy with the care/support my mother has received since arriving on the 14th of February this year. The senior carers have always been very helpful, all the other carers are friendly and helpful too. My mother did have to be moved to a quieter wing but I was kept informed the whole time and
reassured. She has now settled well. I will always get a call if there is an issue.
Getting the advice from the admin assistant was invaluable really helpful and supportive.
The ladies at reception are always friendly.
I am so happy I chose Glastonbury I know she is getting great care.
She was given a do for her birthday just after arriving which she remembered as being fun, another reason the care and attention is so good. I would recommend Glastonbury Court.

My mum had a fall on New Years Eve 2021 and broke her hip. Mum’s caring needs afterwards were more than her residential home could cater for and we needed to find alternative care.

My mother's physical immobility commenced in March 2021 and after an initial time in another care home, her desire was to move to where her personal needs, uppermost being en-suite facilities, would be available. Initial exchanges with the administration member of staff were handled in detail including
my walk around the building during difficult Covid restrictions.
The request was met and the staff waited on the doorstep on the day of arrival and her ground floor room, with en-suite, was a welcoming site in her new circumstances. She has been a resident now for 5 months. She has got to know her carers very well who have been friendly, as they have exchanged stories of their lives and the carers have constantly provided the care and needs that her situation demands. Her room is very well set out, the TV is in an ideal spot, furnishing is limited given the overall space but manageable. Covid has restricted all care home actions but well done to administrators and carers.

My mother spent two weeks respite on the Nursing Suite and was well looked after by the staff, who also managed to get rid of the swelling in her ankles, which she had, had for months before. The staff are very caring and attentive, and there is a lot of them per resident, which does make a difference.
For instance, there was somebody with my mother when she was about to fall down, and caught her, which would not have happened in a place with very few staff on duty.
Having been to many care homes, I would say this one wins on the number and quality of the staff. The rooms are plain and basic, but if you are in bad shape, this is the place for you as you will be well cared for, and they can cope with anything on the Nursing suite. They did manage to lose some of my mother's clothing temporarily but offered to pay for a replacement. I would certainly use it again for respite; it's a great resource.

I arranged a fortnight's respite for my father-in-law recently. The process was easy enough, and the staff were extremely helpful with arranging this. They explained the process very well. I knew my father-in-law would be in good hands, and I knew I could call anytime if I had any concerns. Very pleased

We have moved my father to Glastonbury Court from his previous very good care home as they weren't able to offer nursing care. The decision was made easy by the fact that we have yet to hear anyone say anything other than Glastonbury Court is extremely good and working in the same town I have come across
a lot of people with knowledge of the place. The transfer process was smooth, efficient, and comprehensive even during covid times, with online meetings and tours with all bases covered, every question answered. Dad has settled in very well even under the awkward conditions that prevail. Communications have been very good, both routine and non-routine keeping us up to date with dad's situation.

When I wanted a fresh challenge, I thought I’d explore working for Care UK as I’d heard only positive things about its care ethos and support for its teams. I’m very pleased I did.


I’m passionate about providing the highest standards of care and working with the team to maintain Glastonbury Court’s ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating. Ours is a lovely home to live and work in and it’s a huge privilege to work here and be leading the team. We are always striving for each resident to have a meaningful lifestyle and to fulfil their dreams.


In this role, it’s important to be open and honest, a good listener and treats everyone equally. I enjoy seeing the residents, the team and residents’ families and having a chat and helping to resolve any worries they have.


In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cycling, travelling abroad and soaking up the sun.
