The Lindsay is a care home offering nursing, residential, dementia and palliative care.

Short stays and day care are offered to help both carers and their elderly loved ones at times when they need a break or a little extra support.

The Lindsay is situated a few minutes from the centre of Westbourne and all its amenities – shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The home has a cinema and café as well as lounges, a library and private dining areas for family and friends to come and enjoy when visiting their loved ones or celebrating a birthday or anniversary together.

This home also benefits from an onsite beauty salon, with a full-time hairdresser offering a brilliant service to all the residents.

At The Lindsay, staff take great care to focus on the person. It’s important for residents to feel at home, so it creates a friendly environment with an individually appropriate balance of care and independence.

The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients. Soon after a resident arrives at The Lindsay, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests.

My father has been a resident at The Lindsay for 4 months now and I am very comfortable and at ease with his care. The whole Lindsay team are excellent with the role they provide and everyone has the time to give that little bit of individual attention. The carer said to my dad the other day "and I
made you smile" and his reply was "and that's the best medicine".

My mother's mental condition began to deteriorate to the point where she was reluctant to socialise with friends or neighbours. She became confused and very unhappy. Her family persuaded her to have a short stay in a care home to see how she would enjoy it. She made many friends both with residents
and staff and enjoyed the activities and social life she had previously lacked. Her appetite improved with the excellent food on offer and her family are delighted to see her enjoying life again.

We were extremely worried when we had to make the decision that Mum could no longer live in her own at home. She had always been extremely independent. However, almost since the first week, she has seemed settled, happy and much brighter. She has made friends. Joins in activities and has put on weight.
The staff are wonderful and we could not have found anywhere better. We know Mum is safe and well looked after.

Having had 3 aged parents we have had 3 experiences of different care homes in Bournemouth and Poole. The Lindsay was by far the best! The care/management/atmosphere/kindness/friendliness was superb.

The Lindsay is very caring and supportive of both residents and family. The care received by Mum is second to none. The food is delicious and there is a varied menu. Most of all the activities are fantastic. So much preparation and thought go into them and the entertainers are age relevant and very

The family found the staff very helpful and caring. Management were very good at keeping contact and explaining. Activities were many and varied. Nurses made a real effort with the patients, treating them with care and kindness.

We looked at many homes before we discovered The Lindsay. We are thrilled with every aspect of the home from the happy atmosphere, the care, the food and activities.

I have difficulty writing so a short review. Really good value, plenty going on, you really need to be well to appreciate all the activities on offer. Unfortunately, I was in a lot of pain and slept a lot. Staff very helpful and enthusiastic and cheerful.

Staff are very welcoming. Good range of activities. Food is of very good quality. Good variation each day and plenty of it. Rooms are a good size and very comfortable. Excellent carers and they do appear to make all efforts for consistency with the carers on duty. My father has been resident for 4 months
with Parkinsons Dementia. He is well settled, well look after and we are very happy with the care he receives and the welcome we get when we visit.

I found The Lindsay excellent in many ways - noticeably your entire staff were always smiling and pleasant. In fact, I never saw a cross face or grumpy face of staff members - from Sisters to cleaners they were always pleasant and helpful. The food improved during my stay and was very good and the care
was exceptional - always kind and helpful when needed and answered the call button promptly. Very good.

My mother, who has vascular dementia, has been at the Lindsay for three months now and the staff have been amazing at helping her to settle in.
The facilities and activities provided for the residents are excellent and visitors are always made to feel very welcome and encouraged to join in.
I am very
happy that I have made the right choice of care home for my mother.

I was bowled away by the level of care and attention my mother received here. Every member of staff was happy and gave her as much time as she needed. She will definitely be coming back next time she needs respite care.

My mother has a cognitive impairment and needs lots of help and support with all aspects of her life. The staff at The Lindsay are all kind and caring. They treat her with dignity and affection and I know she feels well care for and safe.
The various social activities add a variety to each day and
my mother particularly enjoys the outings.
As a daughter of someone in a care home, I particularly value the communication from nursing staff and carers, so I know exactly how my mum's doing.

The first thing that struck me was the overwhelming sense of care and commitment shown by all the staff at all times. Nothing was too much trouble, they remain bright and helpful even in the most demanding situations. The rooms are adequately and well furnished and are easily personalised by residents,
being brand new are its a bit plain. The food is excellent and well thought out by a top chef! Also, security is very impressive without being intimidating. Overall if I could afford it, I would love to spend my last days in such a reassuring, supportive welcoming home.

I am thrilled with every aspect of the care and attention that my mother has received since moving to The Lindsay. Because I live in Canada, I need reliable staff and a home where I can trust others to provide the care I cannot. I have found it! Everything about the experience has been positive.

I feel incredibly lucky that I found The Lindsay.
- Activities could be improved if existing themes and materials were more sophisticated and less child like.
- My mothers friend's describe it as 'living in a hotel' having wine with lunch made it feel more like home.
The attention to detail for mum's birthday was the icing on the cake! I can't begin to express my gratitude!

After 15 years of working in a salon, a client who worked in the care home sector asked if I knew anyone who would like to work in a care home. After some thought, I said 'Yes, me!'. I like to make a difference and I feel the care home sector makes a massive difference. It is team-based and is a journey for staff, relatives and residents.


I love it when friends and relatives come in and see their loved ones looking fresh and happy.


Life is about family, making memories and remembering life is short. Outside of work, I love to spend time with my children and walking my dogs.

Earlier on in my career, I worked as a TV studio administrator producing motivational and corporate videos. After I had my children, I returned to work as a teaching assistant followed by temporary roles as a receptionist.


I particularly enjoy caring for people and making them feel as happy as I can. I enjoy the interaction with residents and their families as well as doing administrative work.


I live locally with my English Pointer dog and two cats. My daughter is local so I see a lot of her. My son lives near Southampton and also has a Pointer.


I love to see friends and family and I enjoy walking, gardening, holidays and the beach.

I first joined BUPA in June 2024. I have previously worked within activities and for the last 19 years have been a Care Home Manager. I have a passion for caring for others, specifically for caring for those with dementia. I am a dementia care trainer and also a Dementia Friends Ambassador! Outside of work I enjoy to spend time with my four children and 3 grandchildren. In my spare time I can be found taking my dogs for walks, supporting Norwich City or singing in my choir!

I have been married to my husband for eight years and we live locally in Poole. In my spare time I enjoy the arts, gardening and spendig time with my friends.
