Ferrars Hall is a care home in the heart of Huntingdon providing residential care in luxury surroundings. The home has a warm, family atmosphere with a highly trained and caring staff team. Staff get to know residents and their families personally to provide personalised care taking into account residents' individual needs and preferences.

The care home has 66 large en-suite bedrooms, decorated to a very high standard. Ferrars Hall Care Home has it's own hair salon, café/bistro, cinema room, and numerous lounges and communal areas. Residents are encouraged to enjoy their hobbies and interests and a wide range of meaningful activities are available on a daily basis, from light exercise, crafts, gardening and trips out.

Ferrars Hall has built close links with the local community and often hosts events and meetings to encourage residents to maintain their links with local groups. Visitors are welcome at any time.

Ferrars Hall has its own Chef who works closely with residents and the care team to develop a weekly menu with a wide range of nutritious food suited to individual dietary requirements. The front of house team are on hand to provide drinks and refreshments throughout the day.

I came, reluctantly, for respite care having never been in a care home before. I am really surprised to find that I have enjoyed myself enormously. Every one of the staff has been caring, kind and fun. I have felt that I am important to them and they always have time when I know they must be busy. My
family have been pleased to see how well cared for I am which has put their minds at rest.
The facilities are 2nd to none and everywhere is spotlessly clean and well maintained. There is a full schedule of activities and lots going on if you want to partake.
The food is lovely and plentiful and seems to be all made on site.
The company is good as well and there is always someone for a chat.
Overall my experience has been a good and happy one and so much better than I could've imagined so I heartily recommend them. I told my husband that I should come for respite care regularly and he thinks it is to give him a rest but really it is so I can have a holiday!

The attention to detail and care which has been provided to my parents has been exceptional. The carers are extremely attentive and treat them with the utmost respect. We have christened Ferrars Hall "the care hotel". For my parents, it's like being in a 5-star hotel with care on hand 24 hours a day.
They are never without a drink by their side and all their needs are met without questions or fuss. All the staff are amazing.

My Mum has been in Ferrars Hall for nearly 3 weeks now, we transferred her from another care home. On our first visit, my brother and I were impressed with the welcome from the manager and staff and of course the interior which is like a 5* hotel. We took Mum for a visit and during her assessment, the
carer had time and patience with Mum, and spoke directly to her and made her feel special. Their ethos of each resident being individual clearly came across. Of course the proof of the pudding..........and it hasn't disappointed. I cannot praise the home enough in all aspects. The carers make time to interact with the residents. Even one of the male carers put Mum's makeup on for her when Mum didn't feel like doing it. They make sure she is coordinated in her dress and that is what Mum likes and put on her jewellery for her. All of which helps Mum feeling good about herself. She is encouraged at meal times to eat, she hasn't got a large appetite. The staff are genuinely caring.

Mum has been at Ferrars Hall for 6 months now and the standard of care she receives is excellent. She is now happy to sit in the resident's lounge and participate in the various activities. Her food is tailored to her specific needs and help is readily on hand to help her eat. I especially like to see
the carers having time to spend with individuals for a chat or a wander around the building with them, to me this is a very important aspect of caring which is sadly missing in many residential homes. It is comforting to see Mum happy and well cared for in what can only be described as five-star facilities and I have already recommended the facilities to a friend with regards to her grandmother

Mum was struggling to look after herself and took respite care in another residential home whilst we reviewed options for a permanent home for her. We brought Mum to look round Ferrars Hall and she was immediately made to feel welcome and the staff there at the time took time to speak with her and
explain things. She had a few tears - happy tears - and decided there and then that she would like to live there and chose her room.


Its still quite early days since Mum moved into Ferrars Hall, however she appears to have settled in well, has made new friends and is getting her "spark" back. Being looked after so well, in a lovely environment, with company her own age is making a real difference to her.
