The Marbrook is a specialist provider of complex nursing services. It delivers 24-hour nursing and therapy for adults with complex and long term conditions, which include:

Overall a very good experience. The plan was to get me as able to walk again with a stick which was achieved and to get me able to like certain foods, be able to wash & shower myself & to get me to a certain level to return home.

Wow. First impressions amazing! I cannot express how fantastic this whole team are, from reception, cleaning, support workers, physio teams, catering, you are all wonderful and we felt like part of a huge family and honestly felt loved. Nothing was ever too much for anybody and we had such a giggle
with all. My husband's progress was huge within days and a simple thanks isn't enough. You are all the best!

Very grateful for the extra care taken recently when an ambulance did not turn up at the hospital for my son. I waited 9 hours! Phones the home and they found a driver to come with a carer to collect him.

I was at The Marbrook Centre after a brain infection and unable to walk. The staff were so caring, always checking on you and ready to help. After my stay in hospital, I was left with chronic pain and still suffer immense pain. The physios pushed me too far at times making my pain worse. On two occasions
I ran out of two medications, I missed doses which I was worried about as it was my morphine and anti-seizure medication. Generally, I found my stay an improvement in my health.

I would be very happy to recommend The Marbrook Centre as an excellent rehabilitation centre. The staff were patient and super supportive of my mother despite her debilitating non-communicating condition caused after a major stroke.

What can I say - this place was my physical lifeline, I spent 12 weeks in hospital fighting for my life after getting GBS, then came to The Marbrook Centre June - October and omg I can't even express with words how incredible this place is. My OT and PT were just outstanding without them I wouldn't
be where I am today. They made me believe in myself when some days I really didn't, supportive and passionate about what they do it shows every day.
The carers well I can't name names but you know who you are I'm so grateful for you all, you're all incredible people and never change / I'm so grateful for you all making me feel so welcome, loved and cared for. Never made me feel degraded when I felt it myself at some points. The chefs well you're just truly amazing and never complained how much of a pain I was at times, literally nothing was a problem. One cleaner who became someone I looked forward to seeing she was just absolutely a beautiful soul. Thank you all for everything

I was a resident on the ground floor 'Eden'. Throughout my experience the staff have always given me 100%, the occupational therapy and physiotherapy team have done an amazing job at setting goals and helping me strive to complete them. Brilliant meals available for all different people so you won't
be left out. The carers do an amazing job regarding mealtime and just give you support if required.

On arrival at The Marbrook my wife was unable to get out of bed without assistance and couldn't walk following emergency surgery and a subsequent stroke. The whole Marbrook team have been outstanding, from the carers team, reception staff, and most importantly the psychology and therapists team. She
is now walking with an aid, and can move out of bed and into the bathroom without assistance. We're very grateful to the whole Marbrook team.

From the first time I visited The Marbrook Centre I could see that my husband would be cared for. In the two weeks he was there all the staff showed respect and care but most of all they showed him love. He was protected and comforted to the end. I can't thank them enough for all the wonderful work

During the all too short time my wife was at Marbrook (about a month) in the late stage of Alzheimer's disease the care and attention she received was beyond reproach. All the staff were marvellous from the management through to the nurses, carers, housekeepers, administrators and receptionists. It
was a difficult time but the empathy and care shown to both my wife and myself was comforting and eased the journey we were on. The End of Life care was carried out with dignity and compassion and I am so glad my wife passed away in such a calm atmosphere at Marbrook. Thank you all so much.

Marbrook has worked wonders for my husband over the 12 weeks he has been there. The speech, occupational and physiotherapists are so professional in their work but also very caring and kind in their approach and helped him improve very quickly. The carers are exceptional and couldn't do enough for him,
along with the nurses, housekeeping and admin staff. The whole place has such a relaxed atmosphere, which is a huge asset to helping people get better. A huge thank you to you all.

From start to finish, the expereince was excellent. I was treated with care, compassion and dignity. The support staff were all superb as were the physio/OTS making a difficult time in my life bearable.
The reception, admin and cleaning staff were also important and caring, looking after visitors
and family and making everyone feel welcome.
Overall, I couldn't think of a better place to spend such time. Thank you to everyone at The Marbrook for your support!

My husband is very settled in the home. The staff treat him with respect. The meals are very good. The staff are helpful and caring. I was reluctant to put him in a home at first but now feel happy that he is in a safe place with lovely people to care for him.

All of your staff from the minute you walk in the door are all lovely and friendly, can't do enough for you. Especially the physiotherapy, occupational and speech therapist and all of the cooks and the ladies and gents do all the housekeeping and all of them keep an eye on all the patients, which is
amazing. Five star service all the way.

I cannot thank everyone at The Marbrook for making my husband's stay so easy and good. I was so impressed by all the staff. The carers are something else, so dedicated to their jobs, making sure the patient's needs are always their priority and nothing ever too much trouble. All the therapists were

The service provided was for Neurological Rehabilitation for an 8 week referral. The care and support has been outstanding. The centre is well kept and maintained. The staff are friendly and thorough in there work. Just a wonderful place.

I love my job! In a nutshell, I am here to look after everyone and to ensure Team Marbrook has the best tools to do their jobs. So, what are these tools? Well, in the toolbox is good training and support, a nice environment, the best equipment, clear leadership and the remaining space in the toolbox is filled with care and compassion.


I’m a nurse by training, albeit a moderately old one, having qualified in 1985! Since I qualified I have followed the management, rather than the clinical path. I also spent 5 years as a care home inspector in the 90s where I saw the good, the bad and the ugliest of care services!


So, back to why I love my job. I see people every day who have experienced life changing injuries and health challenges. They and their families are truly extraordinary people; their strength, optimism and motivation to be the best they possibly can be, is an amazing thing to share in. This is a constant reminder to me to make every day count, value what I have and not to complain or worry about things I don’t! The icing on the cake is to witness Team Marbrook supporting people on these difficult and challenging journeys with such care and compassion. I am one happy bunny.
