The Marbrook is a specialist provider of complex nursing services. It delivers 24-hour nursing and therapy for adults with complex and long term conditions, which include:

The facilities are beyond excellent but more importantly the staff are wonderful and practically family! The support care and love I have been shown is beautiful. Thank you for helping me get my life back on track! The care I have received is second to none! The staff make the effort to get to know
all residents personally to help them achieve their goals. I have been supported in all aspects of rehabilitation to rebuild my life I now have the confidence to move on to the next chapter of my life!

My brother, seriously incapacitated by Parkinson's and a bad fall, has been very well cared for in The Marbrook Centre. The staff are energetic, sensitive and endlessly helpful. The food is much better than I had expected and the administrators are cheerful and friendly.

To all the lovely people who looked after my wife at the centre from August - November 2023. I was so impressed by how everyone, the carers, cleaners, nurses, physio and all the staff got on with each other and the time to look after my wife's needs. I will not forget the kindness and enthusiasm that
everyone gave. I would recommend the Marbrook Centre to anyone. Thank you once again.

My husband had 8 weeks at Marbrook Centre and he could not have gone to a better place. The whole team there were fantastic. Very caring and friendly. We cannot thank them enough for the way they looked after him. He missed them all.

Every member of staff from the cleaners to the management treated my dad with dignity, respect, care and sensitivity. All were kind, empathic and patient and were always concerned with his comfort and well-being. Often asked how we (the family) were coping too. He died calmly surrounded by a home filled
with love and compassion.

I have been here for nearly seven months and from the very first day all of the staff from housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, therapists, carers and office staff here have all been brilliant, attentive and understanding. I came here straight from the hospital. Having my own room and the ability to shut the door was exactly what I needed, I was able to sleep. The facilities at The Marbrook are excellent. The staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful, especially the office staff.
The physio and occupational health therapists are excellent and made you feel very welcome, and my therapy has been very good and very rewarding.

I cannot fault the Marbrook Centre. My daughter had Guillain-Barré syndrome and came in on a stretcher and walked out five weeks later. The physio's and occupational therapists took the time to listen to our worries and concerns. All the care staff became like family and it was with a heavy heart we
said goodbye. Without all this fantastic support, the recovery would be so much slower. The food was nutritious, tasty and freshly prepared. The room was spacious and clean and the laundry service was brilliant. I loved the tags.

I came to Marbrook having spent 3 1/2 months in hospital with an incomplete spinal cord injury as a result of a bleed on my spinal cord. I arrived at Marbrook on a stretcher totally bed-bound. I am leaving tomorrow, having spent 10 weeks here, totally independent and walking with crutches. The facilities
and staff are first class, they are totally devoted to enabling everybody to reach their maximum potential. I am leaving knowing that I can and will progress further in the months to come and eternally grateful to all the people that have made this possible.

All the staff were absolutely fantastic. They all respected my privacy and took their time to talk to me. My occupational therapist was outstanding, she was kind and understanding whenever I was upset. My physio took her time with me and always took me through each step. One of my carers was fantastic
and always ready to talk to me whenever she could. All the staff helped whenever required.
The truth is I'll miss all the team that helped me. If I need any more care there is only one place I'd like to go. Here.

The Marbrook is a wonderful, calm and supportive centre. My mum came in here after having a bad stroke in December 21, and the care she received was amazing. The staff, from the cleaner to the care workers, were all so lovely and friendly towards me and my mum. She received amazing care from all staff.
The therapy team were outstanding. Thank you, Marbrook, for everything.

Everyone who dealt with my wife showed courtesy and respect at all times. She enjoyed her physio sessions, especially those in the gym. Unfortunately, her lung infection prevented her from going to the gym for more than two weeks. The nurses were concerned about her cough and breathlessness and reported
the symptoms to the doctor, who prescribed antibiotics. The speech and language therapists worked tirelessly and very patiently with her but her cerebral impairment was severe and progress was limited.

I had the fortune of being accepted into the Marbrook having suffered from a stroke in July 2021. Whilst arriving in such a caring environment, during the covid pandemic came with its challenges. These were dealt with diligently (ie quarantine upon arrival). I found my experience at The Marbrook to
be a critical piece of my rehabilitation journey, following my stroke. Thank you to all the care staff and support team.

I love my job! In a nutshell, I am here to look after everyone and to ensure Team Marbrook has the best tools to do their jobs. So, what are these tools? Well, in the toolbox is good training and support, a nice environment, the best equipment, clear leadership and the remaining space in the toolbox is filled with care and compassion.

I’m a nurse by training, albeit a moderately old one, having qualified in 1985! Since I qualified I have followed the management, rather than the clinical path. I also spent 5 years as a care home inspector in the 90s where I saw the good, the bad and the ugliest of care services!

So, back to why I love my job. I see people every day who have experienced life changing injuries and health challenges. They and their families are truly extraordinary people; their strength, optimism and motivation to be the best they possibly can be, is an amazing thing to share in. This is a constant reminder to me to make every day count, value what I have and not to complain or worry about things I don’t! The icing on the cake is to witness Team Marbrook supporting people on these difficult and challenging journeys with such care and compassion. I am one happy bunny.
