The Marbrook is a specialist provider of complex nursing services. It delivers 24-hour nursing and therapy for adults with complex and long term conditions, which include:

I was there for a period of six weeks for rehabilitation after a three month period in hospital which included eight weeks of ITU.
On arrival at The Marbrook Centre - Cambridge, the treatment I received was brilliant from all of the staff, that being cleaners, carers, physiotherapists, and administration
which showed that all the staff worked together in a well organised manner day and night.
The quality of the food was good and organised for all including vegetarians.
The facilities included areas for eating the meals or in certain cases in your room, there were vending machines for coffee and tea 24 hours a day.
The gym and staff carrying out the rehabilitation were excellent on a one-to-one basis.

My father spent his last four days at The Marbrook Centre. Throughout he was treated with the highest possible levels of care and kindness by everyone he encountered. As a relative I had the same experience and all the staff were kind, helpful and supportive. I felt throughout that we were dealing with
people who really cared for my father and his family.
I would strongly recommend The Marbrook Centre and know that we could not have asked for or found better.
The whole place has an aura of calm pleasant efficiency.

This service has been life-changing. The level of care and attention to detail from all the staff has been amazing, especially my therapy team. There are so many staff from reception all the way to the young man who brought my clothes. My only criticism would be more healthy and wholesome meals and
career paths created for the young carers. It's clear to see their passion and desire for the work they do but disheartened by the senior management, it seems.

Very good in all aspects of care, especially over the COVID period. All staff members are kind and helpful. If not for the level of care at this place, my father would be in a terrible state now, but thanks to the level of care at The Marbrook Centre he is back to his old self again.

With both my brother and I living abroad, we set out from afar in finding a suitable 24/7 care centre once Mum was discharged from hospital early this year. Providence pointed us in the direction of The Marbrook Centre which offered all the amenities, caregiving services and much more. From the very
first point of contact with The Marbrook Centre's management right through to Mum's transfer from the hospital to The Marbrook Centre's facilities - we knew we had made the right choice in Mum's best interests. Mum had a spacious, airy room to herself, with an ensuite bathroom, laundry service, excellent meals and the very best possible care Mum and we could have wished for. All the carers and management are extremely sensitive to each individual family, they exude empathy, understanding, gentleness and sympathy especially if the remainder of the family is far away. Their handling of the recent COVID-19 pandemic is exceptional. My brother and I fully endorse The Marbrook Centre and send our deepest gratitude to everybody at The Marbrook Centre.

My husband was admitted here from the hospital . He hated every moment of it and had to self-discharge for his own mental well-being. I found a severe lack of communication especially in COVID-19 where you cannot visit. When we did have the chance to visit (which may have helped him stay) offered a
morning appointment only to which we had no chance of getting to. I had to reiterate that communication is the name of the game. I want to thank the laundry staff for labeling and looking after his clothes. Husband came home not having eaten properly for 3 months. I won’t be recommending this place to anybody. I’m afraid his stay was certainly not a happy one. Talking to my husband he has not been able to give me a good point on the place at all.

It was a wonderful experience in the care home. Very friendly and helpful people. Carers and health professionals were very informative and helpful. Wonderful facilities, very clean and tidy place. Everyday routine on time, lunch, breakfast and dinner. Very nice food and drinking facilities. Everyday
freshly made food. Wonderful garden you can enjoy with people and socialisng. you can even eat in the garden with the people. Very good value for money.

My experience at Marbrook Centre was so excellent, from the manager to the cleaning staff have shown nothing but respect. This is one of the best places I've been into where I can recommend to friends and family. I enjoyed my stay at Marbrook Centre and my recovery was good, that I only had to spend
2 weeks here. I miss them as I was looked after properly by the cares, physio team and the manager.

I suffered a stroke at home on 10th March. I was admitted to hospital and stayed for 10 uneventful days. I was then transferred to Marbrook; what a difference. I was greeted cordially and then (enjoyed/endured) 6 fruitful weeks towards recovery. Skillful, yet demanding, physio team. Care workers, both
day and night shift, care, kindness and bonhomie, also cleaners, laundry staff, chef and drug dispensers all learnt one's name and offered encouragement at every step or sign of improvement. A truly great team without appearing to have a boss. Obviously training, coaching and discipline must go on without interrupting residents' safety and goodwill.

Excellent service received over the 3 weeks my husband spent recovering from his illness. The staff was friendly and helpful and the physios and occupational health workers helped considerably to bring my husband to a level where he could walk by himself.

I am so grateful my husband was accepted for treatment at Marbrook! The progress he has made since he arrived is wonderful, I cannot speak highly enough of the entire staff who work here. They are very professional with the resident's wellbeing uppermost in all aspects of their care. Not only that they
also take the time to care about the families and the effect the related illness has on them too! There is not one person, from housekeeping through to the facility manager that doesn’t take the time to speak to you and ask how you are! The food is amazing, and the cakes! What can I say, be prepared to put a few pounds on in weight! I would recommend this facility to anyone for the best possible chance of recovery. Thank you just isn’t enough!

I love my job! In a nutshell, I am here to look after everyone and to ensure Team Marbrook has the best tools to do their jobs. So, what are these tools? Well, in the toolbox is good training and support, a nice environment, the best equipment, clear leadership and the remaining space in the toolbox is filled with care and compassion.


I’m a nurse by training, albeit a moderately old one, having qualified in 1985! Since I qualified I have followed the management, rather than the clinical path. I also spent 5 years as a care home inspector in the 90s where I saw the good, the bad and the ugliest of care services!


So, back to why I love my job. I see people every day who have experienced life changing injuries and health challenges. They and their families are truly extraordinary people; their strength, optimism and motivation to be the best they possibly can be, is an amazing thing to share in. This is a constant reminder to me to make every day count, value what I have and not to complain or worry about things I don’t! The icing on the cake is to witness Team Marbrook supporting people on these difficult and challenging journeys with such care and compassion. I am one happy bunny.
