The Marbrook is a specialist provider of complex nursing services. It delivers 24-hour nursing and therapy for adults with complex and long term conditions, which include:

•        Stroke
•        Acquired and traumatic brain injury
•        Dementia (including early onset)

•        Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
•        Motor Neuron Disease (MND).

Its ethos is competence, choice and compassion; providing the best care for people living with life-changing conditions.

Its building benefits from ensuite wet rooms to all bedrooms, nine rehabilitation kitchens, a large rehab gym and a two-bed transition training flat, to enable patients and their carers the space to learn the skills to get them home.

Absolutely everyone has been brilliant. What I liked most was how everyone always greeted my husband by his name. This does make a difference. I haven't met anyone who has not been cheerful, courteous and kind. I think my husband has been quite happy here and has had a rapport with all the staff.

The staff are very caring and looked after mum really well. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit and they keep us informed of any issues or concerns. Mum considers this to be her home now and seems very happy here.

My dad was admitted to Marbrook, St Neots for 8 weeks rehabilitation following 2 major bleeds to the brain which left him with no cognition. He was there for 6 months. Unfortunately, his rehabilitation was not successful due to his condition.
We built up a good relationship with all the staff at Marbrook.
Both I and they would agree he was a challenging resident but he was shown dignity and respect at all times, he became very settled there and all staff were loving in their care and respect towards him. They are all an asset to Marbrook.

My son came in here unable to do anything for himself. The staff have been fantastic in helping him in his recovery.


The physio, OT, carers, reception staff have all been so kind, helpful and the amount of helpfulness is outstanding.

Throughout my stay, I was treated with respect by the staff, who were always cheerful and friendly. The centre was cleaned regularly and the food was excellent. The facilities were first class, especially the gym, which was always open for use.

Team work! From the moment you walk in the receptionist has a warm smile, there are fresh flowers, coffee and cake.


All the staff talk to each other so the needs of the patient are known to everyone concerned. All rooms, bathrooms and shared space are immaculate. They take the time to listen to any

requests and will always say Hi or a cheery wave as they pass. The facilities for rehabilitation are great and the staff well trained and eager to help and often go the extra mile.

Since my son incurred his horrific injury, he's been on a year-long journey which has taken him from Sweden - 4 hospitals. How appropriate and fitting that his 5th and final port of call was Marbrooke. The journey finishes on a high! My wife and I will miss the lovely people we've got to know. Marbrook
is a truly wonderful place, full of professional caring people. Everything, just everything about this care home has been first class. i can't sing your praises highly enough. You will all be missed.

Our daughter was admitted to The Marbrook Centre - Cambridge and arrived on a stretcher following a car accident in August 2017. When she left The Marbrook Centre - Cambridge she was able to walk out of the door. This was due to the dedication and expertise of all the staff and we cannot thank them
enough. The quality of the care is second to none and we felt we were part of a large family.

The staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. They made us feel so welcome and at home. They did an amazing job in assisting my partner's recovery. The centre itself is lovely, clean and has lovely gardens to be able to sit in. The food was excellent. Can't say a bad word about our experience 10/10.

I love my job! In a nutshell, I am here to look after everyone and to ensure Team Marbrook has the best tools to do their jobs. So, what are these tools? Well, in the toolbox is good training and support, a nice environment, the best equipment, clear leadership and the remaining space in the toolbox is filled with care and compassion.


I’m a nurse by training, albeit a moderately old one, having qualified in 1985! Since I qualified I have followed the management, rather than the clinical path. I also spent 5 years as a care home inspector in the 90s where I saw the good, the bad and the ugliest of care services!


So, back to why I love my job. I see people every day who have experienced life changing injuries and health challenges. They and their families are truly extraordinary people; their strength, optimism and motivation to be the best they possibly can be, is an amazing thing to share in. This is a constant reminder to me to make every day count, value what I have and not to complain or worry about things I don’t! The icing on the cake is to witness Team Marbrook supporting people on these difficult and challenging journeys with such care and compassion. I am one happy bunny.
