Kiwi House Care Home is a family-run, award-winning care home providing luxury quality care in Alvaston, Derby.

A friendly, well-trained team ensures high standards of residential and dementia care in a comfortable, caring and compassionate environment.

Resident happiness and well-being is at the heart of the home and dedicated activity coordinators provide a daily fun, engaging and stimulating social programme designed to encourage residents to lead a fulfilled, happy and enriched life.

In the dementia care suites, residents have access to sensory areas, reminiscence activities and memory boxes. With its own minibus, residents frequently get out and about on day trips to places of local interest.

My gran is staying at Kiwi House for respite care. She is really enjoying being there, she said it was like "home from home". We get to have regular visits and FaceTime calls, which is great for us and the family. The rooms look luxurious, and the staff are very helpful and pleasant.

Kiwi staff have always looked after my mum with dignity and care. They have helped her through some very difficult times. Their support has been appreciated by the whole family. There have been a few problems along the way; these have always been addressed and resolved.

The staff are lovely and go out of their way to make both my parents and myself comfortable and at ease. Each time I visit I'm made comfy, offered a drink and witness all the staff and how they treat the residents and visitors alike. They are very caring, professional and go out of their way to accommodate
everyone. I won't hesitate to recommend the home to all my friends and family. The fact that I have both my parents in the home shows my confidence in the home.

Kiwi House always gives an outstanding quality of care, the staff are friendly and are always willing to help. Kiwi House has great facilities, a pub, cinema and hairdressers. Kiwi House is a lovely, friendly home and service users happiness and wellbeing is always a priority.

During these difficult times, it’s been really lovely that they have introduced Skype calls and also pod visits to still enable us to see and speak to loved ones. All staff have been helpful in passing items over to my grandma safely, ensuring me that the items were placed in isolation before being
passed on.

I have spoken with my granny on the phone last week after moving in, and this week to see how she’s settled. She loves living at Kiwi House. She always said she didn’t want to go in a care home, but now she’s living in one, she realised that care home are like hotels now. I can’t wait to come in and
see her and her new home, as it’s so nice to know she’s happy and well looked after, thank you to everyone at Kiwi House for helping my granny settle.

Kiwi is a beautiful home, the staff have always been warm and welcoming when we could visit, and have always helped my gran keep her independence, they do a fantastic job, it was truly amazing to see them help my gran use the iPad so we could have a video call.

My Gran is in the care home and is very happy. The staff are kind, caring and go out of their way to ensure my Gran is taken care of. They keep you fully informed of health needs, and if there are any changes, they contact you once the doctor has been with updates. Me and my family are always made to
feel welcome.

Our wonderful Dad came into Kiwi House in December 2018 when he needed extra care when his Alzheimer's became worse.
The staff were amazing with him, very patient and we couldn't have asked for more.
After he was taken ill and admitted into hospital, we were able to let Dad come back to the home for
end of life care. The amount of love he was shown in the last few weeks of his life is something the family will never forget and we will be forever grateful to everyone involved.

My dad was a resident at Kiwi House from December 2018. Unfortunately, his dementia got worse and he had to be admitted to hospital, where it was decided to put him on end of life care. The staff allowed us to bring him back to Kiwi House. The staff were truly amazing attending to all his needs and
treating him with dignity. We couldn't have asked for better!

My mother has settled in really well at Kiwi House and honestly wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. She has a lovely room with terrace and the home is clean and all the staff are so caring, even the home manager, he always takes an interest in all the residents. 5 stars from me.

My great gran is very happy here and everyone is so kind and professional. I love the cinema and pub and it is just like a hotel but with a homely relaxing feel. The activities and entertainment are very good and the family are always welcomed.
