Sai Ram Villa care home cares for predominantly, but not exclusively, older Asian people, particularly Indian. The home offers residential, nursing, mental health, dementia and palliative care for up to 46 residents.

Located in Harrow, London, the home is round the corner from Harrow and Wealdstone Underground station and close to local shops and amenities.

The beautifully decorated home features four lounges, three dining rooms, a salon and a therapy room. There is a special room dedicated to prayer and silent worship. Outdoor spaces include a landscaped garden, a terrace garden and a balcony. All bedrooms are single and include an en-suite wet room, as well as telephones and televisions which offer Asian TV networks. CCTV is in place in communal areas.

The home’s mini-bus takes residents to local attractions and places of worship. A large activity room is used for film nights and worship, the room has a TV link to enable residents to take part from their bedrooms if desired. Three dedicated activities coordinators offer a range of activities such as crafts, discussions and debates, exercise groups and outings. Residents can also request one to one activities of their choosing.

The home kitchen prepares exclusively vegetarian food. Residents are provided with freshly prepared, nutritious food throughout the day. Each resident is asked to write down their preferred foods so that the kitchen can cater for these, as well as any dietary requirements.

A very difficult period due to the pandemic has been managed well, and my mother has been kept safe and cared for very well. They have allowed access to relatives as per Government guidelines and managed to keep circumstances as normal as can be.

The staff have been extremely brave and caring in these uncertain times. The physical distancing has been particularly difficult for me as my parent is the only living relative I have.
A couple of suggestions/observations/recommendations:-
Please respond to emails of concerned relatives.
Since we
are not allowed to visit, please habitually check and advise relatives if the resident needs anything like toiletries and clothes in time to get them across before they run short.
Are any relatives willing to set up a support group for each other to tide us through these times?

One word comes to mind since we have dealt with this care home - Excellent. All credit goes to the Care Home Manager who has put in a lot of hard work to turn this home around. I genuinely cannot praise the carers enough - for their patience, hard work, kindness and affection, which is exemplary. The
care home is very well run by a strong Manager, spotlessly clean and very welcoming. The grounds are well maintained. I am always made to feel very welcome by the Manager and his staff and any suggestions made by me are taken on board and acted upon in a positive way. It is a great comfort to know that my mum is receiving the best care possible during this later time in her life when is extremely important to feel loved and treasured. The home has been extremely proactive in ensuring the Covid 19 infections are kept to a minimum, especially during these very testing times for all. Well done to you all.

After an extremely troublesome period at a previous care home in Hendon, we decided to move mum to Sairam. Unfortunately, mum only lived for 3 weeks at this home, but she had a very dignified, peaceful and satisfactory last days. From the initial meeting with the manager right till the end, everybody
was friendly, kind and professional. We have experience of a few care homes over the last 7-8 years and we can definitely say all the staff especially the nurses and care staff (two of them in particular) are dedicated to their residents. They were looking after her with love and feelings. Even in this Covid-19 era, they support families and their loved ones. I/we thank them for their effort.

Beautiful facilities for the elderly Indian community, particularly for Gujarati residents. Excellent and dedicated care workers. Cultural and religious functions and only vegetarian (including Jain) good served.

My elderly brother is in Sairam Villa Care Home and I could not be happier and more pleased. Quality of care is top class and of very high professional standard. Management and staff are always very pleasant, approachable and caring. Courtesy, kindness and respect are always present when dealing with
the residents. The manager is a model of courtesy with a very calming and reassuring influence. Nothing is too much trouble for him.
I owe Sairam Villa Care Home huge thanks and am grateful beyond words for making my brother’s life so comfortable and happy in the sunset of his life. My sincere heartfelt thanks, appreciation and gratitude to all at Sairam Villa Care Home.

My mother spent some horrible weeks at this home between November and December and I do not wish something like this on anyone. My mother is mentally fit for her 86 years but physically disabled after a stroke. She liked the place after seeing it twice and decided to move there.
The manager is nice
and friendly but most of his staff are rude, inefficient and have little sympathy for those they take care of. They don't know what "politeness" is. My mother was at times scared about requesting or asking for anything for the fear of being snapped at by staff. The food served is not of a stand one would feed ageing people. There are also no activities for the residents apart from placing them in front of a TV. If you care about your parents, please don't send them to this home.

I am the operations director for the Angel Care/MNS Care group of care homes. I qualified as a mental health nurse training in 1991 and as an adult nurse in 1996. I have worked in social care, specialising in older people since 1991, as I made the positive decision to work in this rewarding sector after I first qualified.


I have been a nurse, deputy manager, registered manager, quality manager & assistant director. I have been an operations director for many years prior to joining this company, I have a passion for making a difference and a wide knowledge base, and I love working and being a leader in social care.
