Everyone at Wellington Vale made my mother most welcome from day one. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother has been a resident for a very short time and is showing an improvement in both her health and demeanour.

My Mother-in-Law moved into Wellington Vale Care Home as a permanent resident, two weeks ago. Prior to moving, she was assessed in hospital by a member of the care home staff, and her family had plenty of access to the home for visits and meetings with the care team. We were all treated with respect
and dignity. The transition to the home was made very easy and welcoming and she has settled in happily. All the staff are friendly, caring and address her every need - and have made the wider family welcome to their community. It has been a huge relief to see her happily settled in a loving, safe and friendly environment.

Very helpful, friendly care staff that cared for my mum during her 5 weeks.
Unfortunately, my mum passed away on Christmas Day.
I would recommend this care home because it's like being in your own home with 24/7 support. A fantastic environment that makes you feel part of a family.

Upon entering the establishment, one it greeted by very friendly, happy and smiling staff. The atmosphere is very relaxed and all visitors are made to feel at home and very welcome.
The food is freshly prepared daily and all diets are catered for. The menus are appetising and offer plenty of choices.
The
staff work as a team and there is always someone on hand to answer any queries. The staff are attentive to detail as well as to residents and their visitors.
The establishment looks like a 5-star hotel rather than a care home and offers very pleasant and homely surroundings to those who both visit and stay.
There are many activities for residents if they wish to participate.
The establishment engages with the local community and often invites them to join in events. For example, the Christmas carol service in 2016.
Highly recommended for respite stays for both residents and their carers.

Mum has been in Wellington Vale Care Home on a 2-week respite period. She is quite happy to be able to do exactly as she wants, ie. get dressed, stay in her room and have visitors anytime. She is now staying for another week.

Wellington Vale provides an exceptionally spacious and comfortable home for its residents. We have seen that the staff have very friendly and professional relationships with residents, families and visitors at all times. We have bene very impressed by the service offered by this care home since it opened

My cousin transferred to Wellington Vale in November 2016 just after it opened. The Care Home is in a lovely location with her room having countryside views. The staff are very helpful, friendly and cheerful.
The staff include an Activities Co-Ordinator (read as head of fun !) who provides regular
interesting activities for residents including film shows, bingo, musical entertainment etc.
My cousin had her birthday recently and the Care Home arranged a birthday party including buffet food and an excellent external entertainment lady with games. Quizzes etc. Excellent.
Food choices are wide with food quality excellent.
Carers are experienced, genuinely caring and cannot do enough for the residents. They are all friendly with both residents and visitors. The home is led by the superb manager who is very efficient, approachable and good humoured.
Heartily recommend.

Sandy

Sandy Atkins

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2022

What I Do:
As the general manager I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the home. I support and lead every department and team member to ensure we deliver quality care and the best home experience we can to our wonderful residents. It is also very important for me to be available for our residents and their families, to remind them my door is always open, and they are welcome!


My Experience:
I have had the privilege of working in care since the age of 17. My very first role was as a care assistant and then I worked hard to gain the qualifications and experience to become a registered nurse specialising in Orthopaedics. I have always had a passion for working with our elderly population and transitioned over to the social care sector.


I have worked within both large and small organisations and have been in a variety of roles including 'Head of Care and Operations Director’. After a career change joining Hampshire Constabulary for a period of 6 years, my heart took me back to working again with the elderly which I love.


About Me:
My out-of-office activities have included obtaining the rank of Captain in the Territorial Army, something I am very proud of. I really enjoy keeping active in various sports including boot camp and I am currently training for a 100-mile walking challenge. I very much look forward to meeting you at Wellington Vale.

What I Do:


As the Home Admission Advisor, I am the main point of contact for new residents and their families. I guide and support them through the decision process of choosing a care home by providing them with information on the choice of our care options, facilities, and the expertise of our team. The best way for residents and families to ‘feel’ our beautiful home is to tour it, so I love to show them around and give them an opportunity to see for themselves everything we have to offer and to meet our incredible team!


My Experience:


I returned to the UK in 2012 after working in Ibiza & Italy in the Tourism sector for 14 years. On my return, I joined the music and entertainment industry, managing DJs and acts from home before venturing back out into the workplace and joining the Wellington Vale team.


About Me:


I live locally with my husband Tim, my son Luca, stepchildren Harry and Lucy along with my brother-in-law Matt and 15-month-old grandson Caspian. Our beautiful 4-year-old collie called Sox completes our crazy but happy family life!

Samuel Sewell

Job Title: Head Chef

What I Do:
As the head chef at Wellington Vale, I am responsible for providing a healthy, well-balanced variety of meals and snacks to our residents every day. My amazing team and I enjoy creating seasonal and themed menus on special days of the year which our residents love! It is important to me that every resident looks forward to mealtimes and their meals are packed with nutrition and include any special dietary requirements.


My Experience:
I have been lucky to work in some beautiful restaurants, in particular Head Chef at ‘The Canteen’, Chef de Partie at ‘The Briny’ (AA Rosette 1 star) and Sous Chef at ‘The Elsted Inn’ in the heart of the South Downs.


About Me:
I have a great passion for cooking and love to bring a restaurant standard to Wellington Vale. I am really looking forward to implementing my ideas and creativity in the future. I love to sing and dance around the home, and I really enjoy getting to know each resident. I am a family man and have a beautiful daughter Ivy.

Chloe Billing

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

What I Do:
My role is to compose activities and events for the residents that are inclusive, enjoyable and exciting. I liaise within the local community, arranging community group visits within the home and to outside events too – this helps to promote a social network for our residents. My role includes creating activity plans based on well-being, mental stimulation, physical well-being and, of course, the most important ingredient: fun!


My Experience:
I started at Wellington Vale in January 2021 as part of the care team. Every day I always took pride in ensuring that I always left residents with a smile on their face. This helped me to make the easy decision of joining the activities team in May 2023. Exactly a year later to the day I started my role as the Activities Lead and I am still making sure there are lots of smiles and laughter too!


About Me:
I live locally in a shared house with my lively housemates. During my time off I like to crochet, and go for nice woodland or beach walks. I have many lovely and kind friends and family that I’m so grateful to have in my life!

Cindy Burns

Job Title: Head Housekeeper

Joined: 2017

What I Do:
I am the head housekeeper here at Wellington Vale. My role is to manage the housekeeping team effectively so that the whole home including resident rooms and communal areas is kept clean and tidy. It is also my responsibility to ensure the laundry service that we provide to our residents is of a high standard.


My Experience:
I started working for Cinnamon Care at Wellington Vale not long after it opened in 2017. My dedication and hard work as a general housekeeper were quickly noticed and I was promoted to head housekeeper within a few months. I have enjoyed watching the team grow and now have a wonderful team of seven working alongside me.


About Me:
I am a very sociable person and love to walk in my spare time. I also enjoy supporting my granddaughter with her doggie day care business.

Job Title: Maintenance Manager

What I Do:
My role involves maintaining the upkeep of the building to ensure everything is to Cinnamon Care standards for safety and decoration. It is great to be able to provide a luxury home for our residents to enjoy.


My Experience:
I have worked mainly in the hospitality industry for the past 30 years as a maintenance manager and before that worked on building renovations.


About me:
I live with my partner and two mad labradoodles. I taught karate for many years and achieved a 3rd dan black belt. In my spare time, I love to have a blast out on my motorbike or chill out fishing on my boat.

Sabrina Webber

Job Title: Administrator

What I Do:


As the Home Administrator, I support residents and families with all things finance during their time at Wellington Vale. I also manage the friendly reception team and support the home with payroll, budgets, suppliers and rota management. I work closely with Sandy, our general manager to ensure all financial aspects of the home are managed effectively.


My Experience:


I started at Wellington Vale in 2018 as a part-time care assistant, then a few years later moved into the role of receptionist. My knowledge and experience of how the home operates soon grew, and in 2021 I accepted the opportunity of progressing to home administrator whilst completing my level 3 in business administration. Previously to Wellington Vale, I worked as a supervisor in retail and also became a fully qualified hairdresser.


About Me:
I live locally with my son Oliver who is 10. We enjoy spending time together as much as we can and we love travelling over to the family holiday home in Spain.
