Pemberley Manor Care & Nursing Home is a purpose-built luxurious home for up to 75 residents. Close to Chislehurst in the borough of Bromley, the home is conveniently located close to the A20 and local train stations. The highly trained care team provides 24-hour care and takes time to get to know residents and their needs individually offering a truly person-centred approach.

The care home provides person-centred residential, nursing care and specialist dementia care across three floors. The home also offers short-term respite care, ideal for a period of convalescence following a stay in hospital. We were so impressed with Baycroft back in February 2019 when we first visited and have been pleased and impressed since. The care is good and all the staff are lovely. Our very dear friend is so well looked after and she is extremely happy and content. Any medical problems are dealt with promptly and
instructions carried out. Nothing is too much trouble. Baycroft is like a five-star hotel. All the areas are beautifully equipped and kept so very well. I would highly recommend.

Having been a resident here for seven days my first impressions are excellent. I find the staff, carers, nurses, cleaners all very helpful and polite. The food is variable and generally very tasty, well presented.
Because of the few number of residents, it is not easy to make new friends but it is
nice to sit with fellow residents in the dining area.
The 'wet room' and shower are an excellent facility and ensuite washing and toilet facilities acceptable.

Baycroft Grays Farm Road Care Home is a beautiful care home, from the actual building, decor, gardens, restaurants - outstanding. We were made very welcome from our very first visit and since joining up, the staff and management have been incredibly supportive, attentive and caring
The cleaners go
above and beyond. Couldn't feel more confident that my loved one is cared for when I'm not around. The little extra touches i.e. hairdresser, chiropodist, papers and activities make such a difference. Feel confident in sending your family here.

It was a difficult decision to place our mother in a residential home as she was fiercely independent but after several falls and potentially serious accidents at home, it was clear that she could not remain living by herself. We chose Baycroft Grays Farm Road because of its close location to my brother.
Our mother was initially quite difficult and resistant but through the patient and caring support given to her by the Baycroft staff, she eventually settled down and now seems quite relaxed and content. I suppose our only gripe is the cost, but good things always cost more. Overall we are very happy with the decision to put our mother in Baycroft and it is a great relief to us to know that she is being cared for professionally.

It was a difficult time when my sister and I needed Mum to have residential care, as no matter what support she had at home -it wasn’t working. From the first contact we had with Baycroft, during her admission when she was upset and until now, I cannot thank the Staff enough for caring so well for my
Mum! She is now settled, happy and although she doesn’t join in much of the many activities on offer she is always encouraged to do so. Her birthday celebrations given by Baycroft were better than she had for a few years! We cannot thank you enough.

Baycroft has gone one way down.
I would not recommend this home to anyone. Sadly in the last few months of their life, my parent did not receive the care and compassion deserved.
Fees are extortionate.
All the good staff have left.

In the three and a half years that this was your mother’s home, we did everything we could to keep her well cared for and engaged. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, it became more challenging, with the enforced government restrictions in place across all care homes.
We regularly analyse our pricing structure and the services offered locally and throughout the industry to ensure we remain competitive. We are therefore confident that our fees are competitive for such a well-appointed home when compared to similar homes in the area.
The industry as a whole has quite a high staff turnover and whilst we have had members of staff leave for differing reasons over the last 18 months, we have not been required to recruit any new members of the care team since March 2020, nor required the use of agency so we have maintained a good level of continuity for our residents.

It's such an emotional time when you realise your mother needs to go into care. The responsibility to choose the right home is enormous and you're not sure what questions to ask. From the very first phone call, the staff have been knowledgeable, supportive, open and very patient. I was particularly
impressed by the honesty displayed, particularly when asking questions relating to the CQC report.
I chose Baycroft because the care is exemplary and tailored to individual needs e.g. Mum doesn't need any mobility aids in the bathroom, so they were all removed before her arrival.
The staff are all lovely; they helped Mum to settle very quickly and genuinely care about her. Baycroft feels part of our extended family.
Baycroft isn't cheap, but it wasn't the most expensive home I looked at. All services such as hairdressing and chiropody are included, which is most unusual.
If I have to go into care, this is definitely where I want to come.

My uncle, who has Alzheimer’s, moved into the home in January 2020. We chose the home because when we first visited the staff were all very friendly and more importantly the residents we saw all had smiles on their faces. My uncle looks so much better than he did before he went in. It is clear that
he enjoys the regular activities, especially if they involve cakes and a tipple like on VE Day. Moving into Bayroft was the best choice we made and has meant that he has not been alone this past year.

Since Mum joined Baycroft, we have been more than happy with the level of communication and care she has received, the dedication of all the staff is excellent, especially in coping with the difficulties that the Covid virus has caused. We have not been able to visit Mum in the home at all, but have
had outside chats from a distance and regular zoom meetings, not ideal for a resident with Alzheimer’s who cannot understand why we can’t go in, but the staff are helpful in comforting her.

It was a very difficult choice to put mum in a home but it was definitely the right choice. Mum went into Baycroft in January and not long after we were all hit with COVID 19. Although we have not been able to enter the home for some time now I feel that when I get to see Mum and speak to her by telephone
she is always happy, clean and content and always happy to be with any members of staff who are all amazing, so caring and always so approachable. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone needing care for their loved one.

I have just returned home after a period of respite, I have done twice previously. The home is comfortable, nicely finished. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are large have television and en suite bathroom (wet room).
The dining room is smart and is like a restaurant in a first-class hotel.
The food is good. There is a large lounge with a large television and is comfortably furnished with settees and easy chairs. There is also a bistro.

My mother was a resident at Baycroft for just over 2 yrs, during which time she received first-class care and treatment. Although with the Alzheimer's, she was unsettled for patches, the staff were patient and kind, with an unending sense of humour. Although she died of Covid 19, she was unlucky to
become a victim very early on, and to date, they have suffered no further outbreaks there.

The care he has received has been second to none and the staff have all gone the extra mile for him and us daily. I cannot speak more highly for each and everyone from cleaners, nurses, carers

Excellent care mainly. Mum still has concerns about her night care, whereby mum feels as if she is being a nuisance if she rings.
On another note, mum had a bandaged visit last week and despite asking 3 different people nobody could tell me what actually happened. I understand that a carer caught her
with her ring.

My mother came in for respite but was welcomed and treated as a valued resident. The staff from receptionist to nurses to management all came to greet her and immediately made her feel at home.
The staff appear to have permanent smiles and have a pleasant demeanour at all times (are you sure they
are not A1!)
My mother has a smile on her face and is extremely happy here at Baycroft.
I would particularly like to thank the general manager for making the choice of Baycroft easy.

As soon as I left school, I knew this was what I wanted to do and I worked as a carer for 4 years, before changing roles in my previous care home to Activities coordinator, I continued in this role and then joined the incredible team at Baycroft as a Lifestyle and Wellbeing Co-ordinator, where I was mostly responsible for organising and hosting our weekly activities programme.


I have recently started an exciting new position within Baycroft; as a customer relations manager and have been enjoying exploring my new role and furthering my skills.

Raised in Caserta Italy, Michele del Monaco grew up surrounded by the finest ingredients and traditions of Southern Italy. He’s had an amazing career, including working in Sardinia, taking the position of Executive Chef in one of the Rio de Janeiro’s finest Italian restaurants and joining the world-renowned kitchens at the two Michelin starred Hotel Il Pellicano in Tuscany.


Over his global career, Michele has evolved his cooking to incorporate the modern fine dining style whilst maintaining the authentic Italian concept inspired by his homeland, which is what he is now bringing to Baycroft in Orpington.


Our personal favourites are his calamari, beef wellington and apple crumble!!

Hi, My name is Lauren and I am the new Home Administrator for Baycroft, Grays Farm Road. I have been in the care industry since 2013 when I started as a carer in an extra scheme and from there, I progressed into more senior roles over the 6 years I worked there. I then worked for a private domiciliary service in Bromley until the end of 2020. I have always enjoyed working in care and gaining various experiences from the roles have been in over the years, It's very rewarding knowing that you are making a difference in a person's life. My name is Joanne, and I am one of the receptionists at Baycroft Orpington I have worked as a receptionist all my working life.

I love my job as a receptionist at Baycroft Orpington because I get to see so many visitors with who I really enjoy chatting.

I have lots of conversations with the lovely residents, jokes and laughs they are such lovely people it is nice to meet their family members too.


Not forgetting the very nice staff and my team whom I enjoy working with.

Hi, I recently joined Baycroft as a Receptionist. My background is in Beauty and Aesthetics, most recently as an Aesthetic Consultant at Harley Street. As a therapist and consultant, I have always enjoyed working with the older generation and building a relationship with them to the point a lot of them became friends. I have a caring nature and decided to get into the care industry using my customer service and reception skills. I know I will get a lot of job satisfaction from knowing I am part of helping someone’s care and attending to their friends and relatives, giving them 5-star service.

I am the maintenance man for Baycroft, I have been made very welcome and supported by the staff in the home.


I’ve been in care for over 17 years in different roles predominantly in Dementia homes, eventually moving into training. Qualified in all aspects of training within the healthcare sector. I moved out of care homes and into a highly successful training company teaching across all sectors of care including the NHS. I am a qualified Dementia trainer for the world-renowned Virtual Dementia Tour and a Newly designed Dementia Interpreter I can utilise my skills gained to help make the residents' lives as fulfilling as possible.

I joined Baycroft in 2019 as a healthcare assistant but I started caring in 2017 for my great nan when she became unwell. I have now started a new role as Activities Coordinator at Baycroft Grays Farm Road, I am enjoying creating a diverse, stimulating activities programme for residents to enjoy.


I enjoy taking part in the daily activities with residents and it is so rewarding to see them benefiting from having social interaction with others and a sense of empowerment from taking part.

Bin Zhang

Job Title: Senior Carer

BIN ZHANG graduated from Medical College of SOUTHEAST UNIVERSITY in China and gained a Diploma of Medical Laboratory Science. After his graduation, BIN worked as a medical laboratory scientist in general hospitals for 10 years, as a senior QC supervisor and ISO15189 internal auditor in independent medical laboratories for 4 years, and as a QA manager and senior medical IVD scientist in an international medical devices company.


After moving to UK BIN gained NVQ-3 Health and Social care certificates and has been working in healthcare settings for 6 years. During his work experience, he has a good reputation for client-centred care service as a healthcare assistant and senior healthcare assistant.

My name is Lisa Young


I have been working as a Health care assistant for 9 years now. I first started off with Domiciliary care where I had to drive to my resident's houses. I then decided to move on and applied for Maples care home in Bexleyheath. I enjoyed my Job role and loved making my resident's life's enjoyable and helping them live an independent life, and enjoyed making them laugh and smile.


There was an opportunity to better me and I decided to study and work towards my NVQ 2 in health and social care it was pretty intense but thoroughly enjoyed it and was really interesting. This Qualification took me over a year and was pleased to say I passed my NVQ 2 which I was very happy with. I then decided my life wasn't complete yet and decided I was going to move on and work towards my NVQ3 so I found myself studying again and after a lot of hard work and effort I passed my NVQ3 in health and social care. I then moved on and joined Baycroft and I soon settled in with the routine and loved caring for my residents and getting to know all of their interests and preferences in the way they would like me to care for them. I am still working at Baycroft and am enjoying my Job role as a care assistant.

Job Title: Hairdresser

My name is Joyce Hayes, I started my hairdressing career when I was 15 years old... Which means I have been doing people's hair for a very long time, and I hope to continue doing it for many more years to come! I have worked in many salons throughout the years, however, I find working in a care home so much more rewarding.


I have been coming to do the resident's hair at Baycroft for three years now. I love coming here because the staff are so caring and welcoming not only to all of the visitors but the residents too. I enjoy doing the resident's hair because seeing them happy and the impact having their hair and nails done has on them, makes everything worthwhile. It makes such a difference for them, it’s the whole experience of coming to the Salon, having a natter and a laugh with everyone, not to mention plenty of tea, cakes and of course a sing-along!
