My Mum is always clean and dressed. She also attends various activities and outings with encouragement. The carers are attentive and patient. All our family enjoy visiting.

Beautiful home furnished to a very high standard. Carers are kind, friendly and always make time to talk to you. The new manager is very approachable and helpful. I am very happy with the care my father is receiving. No one wants to have a parent in a home but I feel very happy that he is there as I

The care that my mother is receiving at Baycroft is exceptional. The staff are kind, caring, considerate but most of all loving. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they are ready to listen and give advice to family members when necessary. Everyone is very well trained and professional. There is
so much going on to stimulate the residents and this has improved my mother's quality of life so much. This is how elderly people should be looked after and Baycroft sets the standard for all care homes.
Baycroft is bright, happy, full of life, laughter, smiles and especially love. I cannot praise it enough.

We are extremely happy with the care being given to our Mother who is in the dementia unit. The standard of accommodation is first class and we consider to be the best locally.

Baycroft Great Baddow is akin to a four, if not five-star hotel. The building, furnishing, equipment and catering are superb. Care staff and nursing are excellent, they really care.

I spent a fortnight at the home. The care and dignity I get from the staff and management was all you could ask for I would have no hesitation in recommending it to my friends and family.

I was a resident at Baycroft Great Baddow for two weeks before Christmas 2018 after major foot surgery which required me to have my foot raised above my heart for two weeks and with only 5/10 minutes of mobility per hour. (Toes above my nose) so I was effectively bed-ridden for two weeks. The carers
and nurses and all staff at Baycroft made this an excellent time (and bearable for me) with very good care, a very good safe environment with delicious food. All aspects that I needed were looked after such as clothes washing. I didn't have to worry about anything. This made the perfect recovery for the first two weeks when I then came home as I was then allowed to mobilise more. Many thanks to everyone at Baycroft.

Mum has been a resident of Baycroft Great Baddow now for 6 months.
The home has many positives. A very high standard of living accommodation with most attractively appointed rooms, public areas, gardens. The staff are friendly and caring and the home has a very pleasant, welcoming atmosphere.
But,
the major, major problem is the excessive waiting time for care assistance.
For Mum, who is totally immobile, waits of, on occasions, 45 - 90 minutes for assistance with toileting is distressing, uncomfortable and unacceptable.
A main cause of this seems to be inadequate staffing numbers, high turnover and hence pressure on existing staff.
In this respect, Baycroft does not live up to its 'luxury billing'.

From the moment Mum entered Baycroft the staff have carefully monitored and assessed her needs.
All the staff are friendly and caring and keen 'to get it right' individually for Mum.
Knowing that she is well cared for and stimulated throughout the day with activities is a huge relief and the atmosphere
within the home enables us to enjoy being a family.

I started my career straight away after leaving school in 1991, working in various prestigious establishments.


In 2001 I decided to return to college and study patisserie. I worked in a few famous establishments including Harrods, where I received 'The Chairman Award For Excellence' during my role as head of pastry in the Georgian restaurant.


I founded my own company in 2007 that supplied high-quality desserts and gateaux across central Essex. I won the award of 'New Small Business' from the 'Mid Essex Business Awards' in 2009.


I left my patisserie in 2014 to spend more time with my 3 children. I am now with Great Baddow to continue producing a standard of excellence.


Colin

Colin Mace

Job Title: Lifestyle and Well-being Coordinator

Joined: 2018

I joined Great Baddow over 5 years ago as one of the initial intakes of staff for the home.


During the first 6 months after opening, I spent a lot of time working downstairs, but as the home filled up with residents, I found myself working more and more in the kitchen where I was originally employed.


I've always found it easy to build relationships with the residents, have always loved having a laugh and a joke but also a serious and in-depth conversation when required. I believe in treating people as individuals, centring my interaction and relationships with them accordingly.


I enjoy both group and individual activities and catering to both the wants and needs of the residents. I believe I am a good communicator but I also can listen. This may be my first official role in the capacity of an activity coordinator, but I do have many years of experience interacting and communicating with people from a wide range of social backgrounds.

Hello, I’m Lynsey, I am the Home Administrator here at Great Baddow.


I worked in Care previously during COVID-19 so the opportunity to join the team at Great Baddow has been great and every day really is different.


Having had my own family members spend time in Care Homes, I know how important it is just to take a few moments out of your day to talk to someone, working at Great Baddow gives me the opportunity to do that every day.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I’m one of the Receptionists at Great Baddow. I spent many years working as an administrator, but when two of my daughters got diagnosed with a serious medical condition, I had to spend a lot of time helping out in their school and also had to work from home.


After a few years, I realised I missed working with others.


So earlier this year I joined Great Baddow as a Receptionist. I love that every day is different and I enjoy chatting with all the residents and their families and friends. It’s great being part of the lovely team, knowing we are all doing our best to care for the residents and make them happy.
