Having visited a few times, I have enjoyed interaction with residents and staff, also using the facilities.
I have been to other care homes, seeing friends, but find this one to be of a very high standard and at the same time having a 'homely' feel about it.

Excellent facility despite a few snags for a new build, e.g. phones in rooms.
Medical care/medicine management needs to improve, but good foundations so as staff become more familiar and family/residents, I can see it will be of excellent quality.

I recently brought my mother-in-law to visit her childhood friend who is a resident at Baycroft, Great Baddow.


The reception was accessible, clean, light and airy with a friendly atmosphere. My mother-in-law was invited to sit with her friend in the café area where they enjoyed catching up for

over two hours. We heard that she has soon settled and that the Baycroft staff have been looking after her very well; she now has a direct dial phone number which will help the two of them stay in touch more regularly.


The Customer Relations Manager, very kindly offered to collect my mother-in-law from her house, as she lives locally and take her back home for occasional visits in the future when she is even able to stay for lunch too, this was very much appreciated by all of us. Thank you.

Baycroft is very welcoming, clean and tidy. The staff are all very friendly. They always introduce themselves and offer to make tea and coffee.
They always invite all family members to events such as quiz nights, meals and jazz nights. The staff are always keen to help in any way they can.

Everyone has been lovely to my gran and her visitors. Nothing is too much trouble. Gran is very happy here and we know she is safe, well looked after and enjoys being here. All the staff I have met have been wonderful. In fact, I'm thinking of booking myself in! Thank you so much for all you do.

Having been given a tour of Baycroft I am very impressed. The decor is beautiful. Very tastefully done. I do wonder if the furniture is right bearing in mind the age and infirmities of the residents. I found the staff very kind and helpful.

I found my mother extremely well cared for. Her general demeanour has improved since she became a resident which can, probably, be attributed to the attentive staff and the level of activities provided. The facilities are excellent and comfortable and the standard would be difficult to improve upon.

The staff at Baycroft assessed and in washing and dressing me, compensating for the limited use of my right arm and hand following insertion of a pacemaker; and in preparation of meals, enabled me to eat with a fork or spoon with my right hand.

This care home is brand new and has been finished to an extremely high standard. Everything is tastefully designed and colour schemes are beautiful. The staff are very friendly, welcoming very happy and can't do enough for you. My husband needs a hoist to be moved. The carers are all keen to help, answer
quickly when he rings and are always suggesting ways to help his well being. The bedroom has a wet room a single bed with a special mattress, TV, door opening out to a veranda. Visitors are welcome at any time and may dine at a modest cost. There are beautiful lounges, dining rooms, library, cinema, gym. hairdresser. crafts and indoor play area for young visitors. This is like a five-star hotel and I would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone.

Sherry Jabonillo joined Greenwood Court in December 2023 as a Senior Carer and was recently promoted to Deputy Manager.
With over 15 years of experience in care, Sherry finds real purpose in looking after the residents. She has always believed that caring for others is her true calling and is proud to be part of a team that shares this commitment.

Hello my name is Christopher, Head Chef of this beautiful care home in Great Baddow


I started my career straight away after leaving school in 1991, working in various prestigious establishments.


In 2001 I decided to return to college and study patisserie. I worked in a few famous establishments including Harrods, where I received 'The Chairman Award For Excellence' during my role as head of pastry in the Georgian restaurant.


I founded my own company in 2007 that supplied high-quality desserts and gateaux across central Essex. I won the award of 'New Small Business' from the 'Mid Essex Business Awards' in 2009.


I left my patisserie in 2014 to spend more time with my 3 children. I am now with Great Baddow to continue producing a standard of excellence.


Colin

Colin Mace

Job Title: Lifestyle and Well-being Coordinator

Joined: 2018

I joined Great Baddow over 5 years ago as one of the initial intakes of staff for the home.


During the first 6 months after opening, I spent a lot of time working downstairs, but as the home filled up with residents, I found myself working more and more in the kitchen where I was originally employed.


I've always found it easy to build relationships with the residents, have always loved having a laugh and a joke but also a serious and in-depth conversation when required. I believe in treating people as individuals, centring my interaction and relationships with them accordingly.


I enjoy both group and individual activities and catering to both the wants and needs of the residents. I believe I am a good communicator but I also can listen. This may be my first official role in the capacity of an activity coordinator, but I do have many years of experience interacting and communicating with people from a wide range of social backgrounds.

Hello, I’m Lynsey, I am the Home Administrator here at Great Baddow.


I worked in Care previously during COVID-19 so the opportunity to join the team at Great Baddow has been great and every day really is different.


Having had my own family members spend time in Care Homes, I know how important it is just to take a few moments out of your day to talk to someone, working at Great Baddow gives me the opportunity to do that every day.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I’m one of the Receptionists at Great Baddow. I spent many years working as an administrator, but when two of my daughters got diagnosed with a serious medical condition, I had to spend a lot of time helping out in their school and also had to work from home.


After a few years, I realised I missed working with others.


So earlier this year I joined Great Baddow as a Receptionist. I love that every day is different and I enjoy chatting with all the residents and their families and friends. It’s great being part of the lovely team, knowing we are all doing our best to care for the residents and make them happy.
