My mum was in Leah Lodge care home in October and overall I was pleased with her 2 week stay. She suffers from dementia and we visited her a couple of times every day and she is well looked after.

My father spent 2 months at Leah Lodge for respite. He has advanced Parkinson's and therefore needs quite a lot of help with his daily activities. The care home team were absolutely lovely and cared for all aspects of his needs during his stay. He also enjoyed the activities put on by the activities
team and was able to engage with the other residents as well. The food was also top-notch, and he has been spoilt with 3-course meals which he now no longer gets at home! Additionally, the facilities are very new and also very well adapted to people with mobility issues, such as plenty of seating, handrails etc. This was very helpful for my dad and as he is prone to falls, meant he was able to steady himself and prevent falls.

It is wonderful to know that my mum is being cared for so well. The staff are amazing! So kind and caring! Whenever I visit or ring she is so happy. She especially loves any music or dancing, not so keen on the art activities. But it is great that there is no pressure for her to join in when she doesn’t

The two weeks respite I have spent here in Leah Lodge have been just what the doctor ordered and what I needed. The care home itself is very comfortable, bright and airy. The staff, and carers have been so kind and caring. I cannot speak more highly of them, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Leah

My father spent three years at Rectory Court in Blackheath and then his last few months at Leah Lodge Care Home, the sister home for those with greater needs.
The staff were unfailingly kind and considerate, as well as highly professional and made Dad's last years so much better than they could have
been. His wife and sons are enormously grateful.

My friend, who was suffering from an incurable brain tumour, moved into Leah Lodge for a period of respite care in early December 2023. From our first contact with staff there, everyone was helpful, considerate and professional, making the whole process far easier than it might have been.
All of the
care staff were exceptionally friendly, caring and professional, going out of their way to get to know my friend and understand exactly what she needed. Throughout her stay, senior staff communicated on an almost daily basis and always replied to emails and phone calls within a few hours.
In early January, when it became clear that there were no further treatment options, the level of care she received was amazing. I cannot imagine a better place to spend the last months of one's life. And when she died in mid-February, again everything was handled brilliantly. Thank you all so much.

Our mother had a four week stay at Leah Lodge recently. The care, kindness, and compassion we experienced were excellent throughout. The building and gardens are immaculate and very peaceful. All the staff are approachable, friendly, and kind. Mum loved the food too. It was so reassuring to know she

I find the entire team to be friendly, approachable and kind. Leah Lodge has good energy and overall residents seem engaged and happy. Food is healthy and varied and there are many activities that residents can do if they want to take part in. I highly recommend Leah Lodge for family members with stage
5 or above dementia. The team manage a very challenging situation with a smile and kind words. The stand-out point for me is the lack of agency staff used.

I was so impressed with the way the staff at Leah Lodge helped settle my mum into her new home. As a 90-year-old with dementia it could have been traumatic for her, but all the staff have been intuitive, good humoured and gentle with her, and have been reassuring to her family members throughout the
process.

My mother was a resident at Leah Lodge Care Home for nearly three and a half years before her death in May. She received excellent care as her Alzheimer’s advanced. The staff were always very welcoming and kind and communicated well with the family. Mum was settled, happy and all her needs were well
catered for. The support and compassion shown to us as a family in the last week of Mum's life was exceptional. We will never forget it. Thank you to the whole team.

Our mother needed to move into care at very short notice. The entire team at Leah Lodge have been simply superb and moved mountains to accept our mother and transition her into care literally within a few hours. The transition was smooth, the communication back to the family has been excellent and it's

My mother arrived at Leah Lodge Care Home after a difficult time in hospital. She has improved already and the team are very attentive. Leah Lodge communicates extremely well with relatives. The building is very well equipped, clean and has a nice family feel to it.

Mum has been a resident at Leah Lodge since June 2022 (diagnosed with Alzheimer's in May 2022). The care home is extremely well appointed with great care taken for the needs of the dementia residents, for example, memory boxes at the entrance to each room. The care home is kept spotlessly clean. A plan
of daily activities is arranged and published each week. Food is fully prepared and residents are given a choice for each meal. Most impressive of all is the staffing. Each resident is appointed a lead carer with who I am in regular contact around mum's care. Staff are invariably cheerful and I am confident mums needs are being well met.

I'm so glad I found Leah Lodge! I very much like that it specialises in dementia care. The building is more like a nice little hotel than an institution. The staff are all lovely. Most importantly of all my friend seems very content.

What I do:
I am the General Manager of Rectory Court, as such I have the overall responsibility of the home with the support from my team. My role can vary from day to day and no two days are ever the same.


My experience:
I have been working in the care industry for over 30 years, starting as a care assistant, then going back to further education to become a manager first for Suffolk County Council and then into the private sector. I have a passion for Dementia care and hold an advanced Dementia training qualification in addition I have a Dementia mapping qualification which I undertook with Bradford University.


About me:
I am 55 and have been married for over 30 years to Adrian a teacher, I have two sons Tim and Tom both currently studying at university. I am a highly competitive person who likes to succeed. I love to shop and find a bargain!

I oversee the running of Leah Lodge alongside the Manager. It's our ethos to make it a family-feeling home where everybody is welcome.

I have been a Registered Nurse for 29 years with varied experience in elderly care, which covers Clinical Nursing in a 300-bed hospital, Occupational Nursing, Private Nursing and Nurse Manager roles.

I have worked in care now for 7 years and my role is a varied and enjoyable one. Previous to this I was an estate agent, working in different roles around the property for the majority of my career.


About Me:


I am originally from the Wirral and I moved to London with my husband in 2015 due to a promotion for him. We now have a 4-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter who keep us busy most of the time. We enjoy going on holiday and socialising with friends whenever we get the chance.

Being part of the team from the beginning gives me great pleasure in getting to know the residents and their families and show the pride and passion we hope to deliver to Leah Lodge at all times.


My working background has been working within the care industry for just over 4 and half years now having varied roles. These range from working in the Support Office delivering general support to the homes when they were under pressure, completing payrolls, purchase ledger, sales and finance. Whilst completing these varied roles the best part is being out visiting the homes, helping the employees and mainly caring for the residents which is what brings me to work as an administrator at Leah Lodge.

I’m the head chef here at Leah Lodge I started as a 2nd chef at Rectory Court and was delighted to become Head Chef; my role now is to work closely with my team and all our residents to provide a nutritional and healthy menu with the odd treat. I liaise with our residents to find out their likes and dislikes and provide an alternative meal of their choice if they wish. Me and my team will always aim to please and provide a good dining experience.


My Experience:
I have 6 years of experience working in catering and have enjoyed every moment, learning new things all the time. I have a BETEC level 2 in hospitality and catering and an NVQ level 2 in kitchen services and food safety.


About Me:
When I’m not working I spend time with my three sons and visiting my family, I like socialising with my friends and having a good meal out with somebody else cooking.
