The new activity strategy will encompass more personalised activities linked to individual's passions and interests; improved involvement of residents; the seeking of regular feedback; provision of meaningful 1-to-1 sessions and, now the weather is improving and with access to a new minibus, more excursions away from the home. As General Manager at Leah Lodge, I am disappointed to read this feedback, particularly as I have not met the visitor who submitted the review or had the opportunity to discuss the matter in person. We recognise that mealtimes are of huge significance to the older people who live with us and I am confident that the food served here at Leah Lodge is of a consistently high standard, nutritionally balanced use good quality, fresh ingredients. Food choices are very individual and I have personally met with the resident concerned on several occasions to discuss their mealtime preferences. Our chef also regularly holds meetings with the residents as a group to plan menus which reflect the seasons and offer variety and choice. The team at Leah Lodge is united in the desire to make a difference to the lives of the people that live with us and welcome feedback in order to develop and improve our service.

What I do:
I am the General Manager of Rectory Court, as such I have the overall responsibility of the home with the support from my team. My role can vary from day to day and no two days are ever the same.

I have been working in the care industry for over 30 years, starting as a care assistant, then going back to further education to become a manager first for Suffolk County Council and then into the private sector. I have a passion for Dementia care and hold an advanced Dementia training qualification in addition I have a Dementia mapping qualification which I undertook with Bradford University.

I am 55 and have been married for over 30 years to Adrian a teacher, I have two sons Tim and Tom both currently studying at university. I am a highly competitive person who likes to succeed. I love to shop and find a bargain!

I oversee the running of Leah Lodge alongside the Manager. It's our ethos to make it a family-feeling home where everybody is welcome.
My Experience:
I have been a Registered Nurse for 29 years with varied experience in elderly care, which covers Clinical Nursing in a 300-bed hospital, Occupational Nursing, Private Nursing and Nurse Manager roles.
I have been with Cinnamon for 4 years now as a Care services Manager/ Deputy Manager role which allows me to make a difference to the people we care for and work with.
About Me:
I have been happily married for 24 years and have two beautiful daughters. Reading is the best form of relaxation for me, and my happiest time is when I explore new places and foods with my family.

What I Do:
I’m Home Admissions Advisor for both Leah Lodge and Rectory Court. I started with Cinnamon in 2019 and more recently I am part-time due to having two small children at home.
I help families and potential residents through their journey of considering a care home for their loved ones.
I consider it a privilege to be able to advise people on such a difficult and emotional journey.
My Experience:
I have worked in care now for 7 years and my role is a varied and enjoyable one. Previous to this I was an estate agent, working in different roles around the property for the majority of my career.
About Me:
I am originally from the Wirral and I moved to London with my husband in 2015 due to a promotion for him. We now have a 4-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter who keep us busy most of the time. We enjoy going on holiday and socialising with friends whenever we get the chance.

I am overjoyed to be part of the Leah Lodge team. I am really excited to watch this home be successful and most of all see the residents be delivered excellent care and live in the luxury accommodation we offer.
Being part of the team from the beginning gives me great pleasure in getting to know the residents and their families and show the pride and passion we hope to deliver to Leah Lodge at all times.
My working background has been working within the care industry for just over 4 and half years now having varied roles. These range from working in the Support Office delivering general support to the homes when they were under pressure, completing payrolls, purchase ledger, sales and finance. Whilst completing these varied roles the best part is being out visiting the homes, helping the employees and mainly caring for the residents which is what brings me to work as an administrator at Leah Lodge.

I am proud to be Head Housekeeper in Leah Lodge.
I have over 12 years’ experience in a care home environment and before that in 4-5 star hotels.
Myself and my highly-experienced team, are really enjoying making sure that very high standards are maintained, so that residents, visitors and staff have a clean, safe, welcoming environment to live in, visit and work.

What I Do:
I’m the head chef here at Leah Lodge I started as a 2nd chef at Rectory Court and was delighted to become Head Chef; my role now is to work closely with my team and all our residents to provide a nutritional and healthy menu with the odd treat. I liaise with our residents to find out their likes and dislikes and provide an alternative meal of their choice if they wish. Me and my team will always aim to please and provide a good dining experience.
My Experience:
I have 6 years of experience working in catering and have enjoyed every moment, learning new things all the time. I have a BETEC level 2 in hospitality and catering and an NVQ level 2 in kitchen services and food safety.
About Me:
When I’m not working I spend time with my three sons and visiting my family, I like socialising with my friends and having a good meal out with somebody else cooking.
