My Dad has been a resident at Lostock Lodge since January 2017, and refers to it as “Home, Sweet Home”.
Sadly, my Dad’s health has deteriorated over the past few months, and after a recent stay in hospital, the amazing management and wonderful staff have gone above and beyond to help keep Dad at Lostock,
working closely with the family to help support Dad’s changing needs.
It is a very worrying time watching a loved one battle with dementia, but knowing that you have the support of the fantastic team that care for Dad so well is very reassuring, as well as truly heartwarming. Having got to know my Dad over the months he has been a resident, continuing to provide the continuity of care, the familiar, friendly faces and very comfortable surroundings going forward means the world to my family, as I am sure that it means everything to my lovely Dad too.
A huge heartfelt thank you to the Manager and her team that continue to do themselves proud on a daily basis.

Lostock Lodge Care Home is a purpose-built care home, bright, airy, with comfortable lounges and space to move around with zimmer frames and wheelchairs etc. I have been here seven weeks to accompany my stroke-disabled wife. My own care requirements are not very demanding, but my wife needs 24hr care
and also has dietary requirements. The staff are all very kind and caring in their different ways and there is a lovely, warm atmosphere.

My mother has been at Lostock Lodge Care Home for a year. The difference in her in that time is amazing, she has various health problems that she was neglecting before she moved into the home. The staff there have been brilliant and very supportive both to mum and me.

Lostock Lodge Care Home provided very good care for my father for the final three months of his life. The staff were really caring and spotted any signs of illness swiftly, putting in the appropriate action immediately. The mental stimulation provided by the Activities Team was great, I would suggest
that even more of this is made available, particularly to those in a secure dementia unit. The care that was provided to the family when Dad passed away was extremely good, the staff treated us with a lot of care and support through a very difficult time.

My Mum moved into permanent residency at Lostock Lodge in the middle of February 2018. Mum has already made some friends among the residents.
The management and staff have been very supportive during this stressful period of adjustment. The level of care provided by Lostock Lodge would have been impossible
to match if my Mum had remained in her own home.

My nan is on the dementia floor. Some staff seem to be untrained on how to look after and interact with dementia patients. I have seen them arguing with the residences, instead of agreeing and go along with what they say, otherwise they get upset.
I can visit for over an hour and no-one will check
on her. Her bathroom often smells of wee, I clean it when I visit. There aren't any towels in the bathroom and if there are they are dirty!
I go once a week in the morning to shower her. Some days she has gone to bed in the clothes from the previous day. She has at least 2 pairs of underwear on.
Often no pillowcase/bed sheet or duvet cover are on her bed- and when there is it can be dirty for days.
It upsets me that my nan is paying a lot of money and not getting the basic care!
The food is lovely, they come into her room and give her a choice of breaky. Lunch and tea times are the same which is good for routine.
We have spoken to the management about this and we are waiting to see if things improve.

Having spent my working life in healthcare services, I have seen many care homes so when my mum needed care I had some concerns.
However, as soon as we entered Lostock Lodge I knew we were somewhere special. The building itself is like a luxury hotel and the staff were all kind and welcoming.
Every
time I visit I get the same impression. This is an excellent facility. Mum has settled in well and is enjoying the food and being looked after.

We approached Lostock Lodge in the first instance as Respite Care for Mum back in November for 4 weeks only - but realised very quickly that Mum would be getting far better care if she stayed permanently with the family at Lostock - it was closer to her family here in Cheshire and she would be more
stimulated during the day. It has taken a good 6 weeks for Mum to stop asking to go home but is now settled and enjoying all the festivities on offer at the home - she is loving the crafts, knitting, painting classes and more recently the choirs.


Thank you Lostock for settling Mum in so quickly - she now has lots of friends as well as her family to talk to.

Extremely positive. Lostock Lodge provides care - care that is physical and emotional. There is an upbeat ethos that is welcoming and cherishing. All the staff are friendly and supportive of both the residents and their families.
The decor, furnishings and food are also top class but it is the care
that is most important and this has been superb.

My friends have been in Lostock Lodge since February of this year and I'm a frequent visitor.


Despite the fact that owing to the ongoing age factor their health has deteriorated over the months, they are still very happy and comfortable with the standard of care they receive on a daily basis from

the team of dedicated, patient, diligent and caring staff who have to be admired for coping at times with many unsavoury moments.


My friend had her 85th birthday a few days ago and her room was decorated with bunting, a birthday banner on her door, cards from staff, all topped off with a lovely birthday cake baked by their chef. She was able to feel very special and was joined by her husband from the room next door. I would like to thank everyone at Lostock Lodge for making the day so memorable - these are days to be cherished. To sum up, I quote the TV advert - "there's no veneer in here, it's the real deal."

My mother has just moved into your home in Lostock. Previous to this, I had an extremely well led guided tour of the home and the lady was very helpful. She went above and beyond to help me with the financing and organising all the paperwork, to make everything easier. The deputy manager that came to
assess mum was also very helpful kind and attentive to mum's needs. Extremely efficient staff. They made me feel valued. Thank you.

My relative moved into Lostock around January time. As a family, we are so impressed with the way that my relative has been looked after - from day one. Every one of the staff is caring and kind and also doing a professional job. My relative is always neatly dressed and looks cared for. The manager
always knows what is going on in the home and is swift to take action when needed; for instance, contacting the GP quickly when the need arises. My relative is always included in the social meetings and we as a family, are always met with a smile and a cup of tea. Thanks.

From the minute you are met at the door, there is a smile greeting that says lovely to see you.
The reception area is lovely, bright and clean, reception staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
My father has never said "I don't want to go"
We just wish that he would be able to go
as a resident because we know he would be happy (but cost is too high).
