Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
home.
Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
services at the time you request them.
They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
be paid for by yourself.

The care staff are, without exception, cheerful, considerate and very patient. They are highly attentive and offer personal care to
The en-suite rooms are well-appointed and the public spaces are light, airy, well-decorated and immaculately kept. The design has been very well thought out.
Its limitations at the moment are solely a function of its newness. Because it is still far from full, the current range of activities is limited and the lounges and different activity areas are under-exploited. When the home is working nearer to capacity, it will be a very good residential home.
Thoroughly recommend.

Job Title: General Manager

Matt is the General Manager at Edwardstow Court. His journey at home has been one of development and progression since he first started as a Cook in March 2018.
Reflecting on his time at the home, Matt said: “I am passionate about development. The team at Edwardstow Court and the wider OSJCT team have supported me to progress from Cook to Head Chef, to Bursar, to Bank Care Leader, to Deputy Home Manager and most recently, in July 2024, into the General Manager position.”
Having worked in a variety of roles throughout the home, Matt fully understands the support Edwardstow Court provides, and it is something he takes a lot of pride in.
“I've always been interested in work that involves helping others and making a positive impact. I enjoy being an active member of my community and helping people. Each day is different and the joy I get from a simple thank you when I have helped a resident, or their families makes me feel I have made a difference.”
Matt also takes pride in the recognition that OSJCT gives to himself and his colleagues at their annual Trust Recognition Awards. “The Trust Recognition Awards in 2022 was a particularly proud moment for me. We had four team members who received nominations with 3 eventual winners and 1 runner-up.”
Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family. He is a proud father to 5 children and loves to spend time away with his family, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, at his favourite place, Weymouth.

Gemma joined the Trust in 2013 as a housekeeper before progressing to a carer and has also worked with us as an Activities Co-ordinator. Gemma has been our Dementia Lead since 2014, working alongside our Head of dementia care to provide excellent dementia care. She has completed her BTEC Level 2 Award in Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care. In Gemma’s spare time, she loves to spend time with her two children and husband and having family days out.

Kim has been a Care Leader at Edwardstow Court since the home first opened 2018.
Speaking of her passion for her job, Kim said: “I love knowing that we make a difference for our residents and their families. I enjoy the fact that I am giving our residents respect and dignity through the role that I do. I enjoy hearing all of their amazing stories, and I love that every day is different.”
When asked about her favourite memory during her time at Edwardstow Court, Kim reflected on the very first day they opened. “The one memory that sticks in my mind is the day we first opened and our first resident arrived. She was a lovely lady and was treated like a queen!”
Outside of work, Kim loves spending time with her family. She is also a keen reader and enjoys taking some time out to go abroad on holiday.
