Edwardstow Court Care Centre is located in the pretty town of Stow-on-the-Wold and offers residential, dementia, respite and day care for up to 48 residents.

Edwardstow Court has been designed in a traditional manor house style, with a blend of Cotswold stone and contemporary construction.

The home offers a friendly, professionally trained team who are on hand around the clock to support so that residents can continue to enjoy a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

Residents have a homely, comfortable living environment within six households, each with access to two living rooms, a kitchen dining area plus bedrooms which are en-suite, some even offer garden views.

Freshly prepared, delicious dishes are carefully balanced by their talented chef and the kitchen team to get the best nutritional value and take account of any individual dietary requirements or preferences.

The on-site cafe boasts fresh cakes and fruit platters daily.

There is a full programme of different activities and events organised by the activity co-ordinators around each person's requests, hobbies and interests.

    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

All the carers are kind, cheerful and understanding of the resident's circumstances.
Early days for my dad but I am happy that he is in a safe and secure environment with carers available 24 hours a day - night times were a problem at home.

Having been to other care homes in the past, this was by far the best. The staff were very obliging and attentive, the food was excellent, with a varied menu. I am hoping they can have me again for respite care.

Edwardstow Court is outstanding on two counts: the quality of its care staff and the physical surroundings in a purpose built home with a high standard of finish.


The care staff are, without exception, cheerful, considerate and very patient. They are highly attentive and offer personal care to

each resident tailored to their needs.


The en-suite rooms are well-appointed and the public spaces are light, airy, well-decorated and immaculately kept. The design has been very well thought out.


Its limitations at the moment are solely a function of its newness. Because it is still far from full, the current range of activities is limited and the lounges and different activity areas are under-exploited. When the home is working nearer to capacity, it will be a very good residential home.


Thoroughly recommend.

The meals were absolutely wonderful, the furnishings are wonderful. The bed was really comfortable. The facilities are excellent and all I needed. Moving in was reasonably easy. I enjoyed the activities including the police dogs and the singing even though I was slightly out of tune. I will definitely
be back.

This care home is just lovely. Every need that anyone living here could want and know they will be looked after very well. Beautiful, well equipped rooms - hairdressers, cafe (where you can help yourself), nice garden with a gazebo. The staff we came across were all really nice, polite and very helpful.

The whole family are really impressed with this newly opened care home. Activities aren't limited to the activities coordinator playing games/singing songs. All staff are encouraged to be involved. My Mother in law, who has Alzheimer's disease, loves to help the housekeepers and carers; she likes
to do 'normal things' e.g. fold socks, empty the dishwasher, lay the table, help in the garden. Of course, she also enjoys playing games, singing, dancing. This care home does all these things for her. She started visiting as daycare and is now in ongoing respite which will probably be permanent. She is so happy there. Any minor teething problems were dealt with quickly and not ignored. We couldn't be happier.

My father moved to Edwardstow two weeks ago and I am very pleased with the care he receives. Independency is very much encouraged. Lovely atmosphere, beautiful well-furnished rooms. Wonderful caring staff, well managed, cannot recommend enough. My father has settled in very well.

My mother with advanced dementia who will be 83 this month has had all the care and attention and provision for her that we could wish for. Being a new home is obviously a plus, all modern, up to date facilities etc. The newly thrown together staff team are working well.

Matthew

Matthew Peach

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2017

Matt is the General Manager at Edwardstow Court. His journey at home has been one of development and progression since he first started as a Cook in March 2018.


Reflecting on his time at the home, Matt said: “I am passionate about development. The team at Edwardstow Court and the wider OSJCT team have supported me to progress from Cook to Head Chef, to Bursar, to Bank Care Leader, to Deputy Home Manager and most recently, in July 2024, into the General Manager position.”


Having worked in a variety of roles throughout the home, Matt fully understands the support Edwardstow Court provides, and it is something he takes a lot of pride in.


“I've always been interested in work that involves helping others and making a positive impact. I enjoy being an active member of my community and helping people. Each day is different and the joy I get from a simple thank you when I have helped a resident, or their families makes me feel I have made a difference.”


Matt also takes pride in the recognition that OSJCT gives to himself and his colleagues at their annual Trust Recognition Awards. “The Trust Recognition Awards in 2022 was a particularly proud moment for me. We had four team members who received nominations with 3 eventual winners and 1 runner-up.”


Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family. He is a proud father to 5 children and loves to spend time away with his family, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, at his favourite place, Weymouth.


Gemma

Gemma Joynes

Job Title: Carer

Joined: 2013

Gemma joined the Trust in 2013 as a housekeeper before progressing to a carer and has also worked with us as an Activities Co-ordinator. Gemma has been our Dementia Lead since 2014, working alongside our Head of dementia care to provide excellent dementia care. She has completed her BTEC Level 2 Award in Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care. In Gemma’s spare time, she loves to spend time with her two children and husband and having family days out.


Kim

Kim Maunoury

Job Title: Care Leader

Joined: 2018

Kim has been a Care Leader at Edwardstow Court since the home first opened 2018.


Speaking of her passion for her job, Kim said: “I love knowing that we make a difference for our residents and their families. I enjoy the fact that I am giving our residents respect and dignity through the role that I do. I enjoy hearing all of their amazing stories, and I love that every day is different.”


When asked about her favourite memory during her time at Edwardstow Court, Kim reflected on the very first day they opened. “The one memory that sticks in my mind is the day we first opened and our first resident arrived. She was a lovely lady and was treated like a queen!”


Outside of work, Kim loves spending time with her family. She is also a keen reader and enjoys taking some time out to go abroad on holiday.
