Located in a quiet residential area in Blackpool, Glenholme Bispham Gardens is for older people with care needs looking to achieve a relaxing lifestyle and retirement. Glenholme Bispham Gardens is a 28-bed care home with a new expansion recently opened consisting of an additional 24 rooms for a total of 52 rooms. Care Staff are skilled in meeting specialist needs, including dementia and end-of-life care.

All rooms are en-suite, and residents have the benefit of generous communal spaces such as numerous lounges and day rooms as well as a hair-dressing salon, library, cinema and landscaped gardens. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms. The in-house chef uses fresh ingredients to prepare nutritious and enjoyable meals and snacks throughout the day. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are available in the bistros. In addition, those who would like to do some of their own cooking can use the bistros to do so.

All care packages at Bispham Gardens are tailored to each resident's personal needs, and the home maintains a programme of events and activities. The activities coordinator regularly arranges a wide range of opportunities, to get involved with, on both a personal and a social level. These include music evenings, pantomimes, the famous Christmas Fair as well as a range of trips to local shops and attractions.

Since her arrival my wifes care has been consistantly good. From personal care to repairing the bed, nothing is too much trouble.

From the minute I brought my sister in for an assessment, my sister has felt at ease. Management have been great in assisting with arranging funds with social services and making my sister feel comfortable from the get-go. My husband has been at Bispham Gardens now for a little over six weeks, in which time he has been well cared for, especially with regards to the nursing care he has received. The food is of excellent quality and hot food is always served hot, as it should be. Generally, I would recommend Bispham Gardens
to anyone seeking good care for a loved one.

Truth be told - I could not wait to get my loved one out of this Home. Poorly run with the absolute minimum of care given. No person centred care. No dignity or respect shown. Very Poor hygiene standards. Not enough staff. Rude staff (not all) and the rudest most unapproachable Manager I have ever met.
Very poor management and no communication. Information passed to relevant authorities.

My mother has resided at Bispham Gardens Care & Nursing Home for three years now and we are so relieved that we found such an excellent home.
All the staff are always friendly, helpful and eager to assist both residents and visitors. Care is delivered to a very high standard and residents are always
treated with respect and dignity.
The home is extremely clean, well-maintained with superb facilities and plenty of communal rooms should visitors want privacy with their loved ones and food freshly prepared with lots of choice. A variety of daily activities are offered along with gardening club for those who wish to participate with regular entertainment and outings. A minibus is being provided which means more trips out will be available in the future.
It is so reassuring to know that she receives the best of care and myself and all the family would have no hesitation in recommending the home.

I go in daily to see my dad and he has excellent care and is well-fed, they are so welcoming, always cleaning, all staff say hello and engage with us regularly.
The food always looks nice and homemade.

My dad entered Bispham Gardens smiling and happy to be there. He told the hospital Bispham Gardens was like family to him. My mother was a resident here for two years and he had a good experience. Management has since changed. On his second day, he was lifeless in bed, hardly able to speak. He managed
to say "They don't like me in here" and "They don't want to care for me". An overnight complete change. He had numerous falls, particularly in the first four days and was saying "It's not the place it used to be". He deteriorated in speech, alertness and behaviour. All visitors experienced a lack of response to the alert buzzer, once for four hours. Dad was taken to the hospital the day before he was due to leave. Some of the staff (who I am not allowed to name here) shone out. I was very grateful. I have the impression the current manager is out of touch with the activity of all staff and that she was unable to relate sufficiently to Dad's frailty or needs. I wasn't told if nighttime safeguarding issues were dealt with.

Our mum arrived from the hospital for her end-of-life care, she was sadly only there for less than a week before she passed away. The whole team looked after her and us from the moment she arrived until she sadly passed away. We would not hesitate to recommend this care home and the very welcoming,
professional and caring team, we could not have wished for a better place for our mum to spend her final days, a huge thank you to all.

My nursing home place Jan 2021-Jul 2023 (2 years 7 months) overall despite my younger-than-average age was treated very well, of course, there were elements out of the home control like my anxiety making socialising with older residents uncomfortable however where possible the home encouraged, supported
the connections that did manifest. I was a mess emotionally to start however all the staff made it clear they were always available for support and showed kindness/compassion, my coeliac dietary requirements were catered for, and supported my need to be as independent as possible, changing my bed so I didn’t feel “hospitalised” and gave me a larger room so that I could start a new craft hobby to distract myself despite mainly not feeling comfortable to leave my room, they definitely made adjustments to give person-centred care, of course within the 2+ years things went wrong however they were quick to address any issues as they arose, I highly recommend this nursing home.

My father was admitted to hospital on Monday night/Tuesday morning, and having failed to contact him via his mobile since Sunday I phoned the care home Thursday night (not unusual for a couple of days to pass between speaking to him due to mobile and sleeping) to be told he was in the hospital. As his
next of kin, I hadn’t been informed and wouldn’t have been aware had I not phoned them in the hope of speaking to him via their phone.
Such a poor level of compassion was shown when requesting to escalate this.

My mum has now been a resident here for ten months. Throughout this period Mum has received excellent care and attention. Glenholme Bispham Gardens is well-equipped to deal with all necessities in a modern and bright environment. Most of all, Mum and my family have been so impressed by the kindness

My mum lived in Bispham Gardens for nineteen months, moving in a few months before her ninety-first birthday. At all times, I found the staff engaging and attentive to my mum's needs and welfare. Mum had a very nice en-suite room and the staff were keen to help her pursue her hobbies, taking her swimming
and to the theatre. I can recommend Bispham Gardens wholeheartedly.

Overall this care home is a pleasant place to visit. I think my mum has settled into the home well.
My only complaint is on occasion there are two staff that don’t know the residents on my mum's floor. If possible there should always be one carer who knows the residents.

Very happy with the level of care received by our family friend. She is treated with respect, the staff are very good and friendly. I have never been there when I haven't seen anyone cleaning, the whole place is spotless. We looked at many care homes before we found this one and we are pleased we did.

We find the staff and management to be extremely kind and welcoming.
My mum has settled in really well and is very well cared for.
The bedroom is light airy and spacious.
All the communal areas are accessible with lots of places to sit and watch the television or just to be quiet and reflective.

My partner is well looked after on the whole. The TV has been off in my partner's room for over a week, it is the only thing he relies on. He cannot eat and does not enter into any activities, he is bed bound. I don't think it is fair when it is the only bit of entertainment in my partner's life.

Absolutely not recommended.
Our lovely Dad arrived on Friday 19th August, on 20th August he was in his room flat on his bed, which should have been elevated, no one had checked on him in 2 hours, Dad was covered in phlegm.
My aunt asked for him to be elevated and the answer was a lack of staff.
Dad
needed a nebuliser, there was no oxygen for him. In the evening no one attended Dad's alarm, he contacted family in London by way of face timing, as he had no voice but was demonstrating that no one was answering his alarm.
I had to call the care home to get an ambulance for my Dad to get him to A and E as his oxygen had gone seriously low.
My Dad should not have been offered a place at a home where there is not enough staff to answer a buzzer from a highly distressed patient.
This is being investigated as I type.
I am purely stating facts.
My darling Dad passed away 4 days later.

Angela and her staff team have undergone extensive checks prior to employment to ensure that they have the skills and qualities we require when working with vulnerable people.
