Located in a quiet residential area in Blackpool, Glenholme Bispham Gardens is for older people with care needs looking to achieve a relaxing lifestyle and retirement. Glenholme Bispham Gardens is a 28-bed care home with a new expansion recently opened consisting of an additional 24 rooms for a total of 52 rooms. Care Staff are skilled in meeting specialist needs, including dementia and end-of-life care.

All rooms are en-suite, and residents have the benefit of generous communal spaces such as numerous lounges and day rooms as well as a hair-dressing salon, library, cinema and landscaped gardens. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms. The in-house chef uses fresh ingredients to prepare nutritious and enjoyable meals and snacks throughout the day. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are available in the bistros. In addition, those who would like to do some of their own cooking can use the bistros to do so.

All care packages at Bispham Gardens are tailored to each resident's personal needs, and the home maintains a programme of events and activities. The activities coordinator regularly arranges a wide range of opportunities, to get involved with, on both a personal and a social level. These include music evenings, pantomimes, the famous Christmas Fair as well as a range of trips to local shops and attractions.

My father (94 years) was admitted to Glenholme Bispham Gardens after weeks of being shunted around hospital wards. My immediate impression was very positive. The staff were very welcoming and I was struck by their caring and professional attitude. The home is clearly well equipped and was spotlessly
clean. It is early days but I feel certain that my dad is in the right place to meet his needs.

Not recommended. Dad arrived here mobile and lucid. 2 days later, there was blood in his catheter bag, which recurred at least 3 times over the following week. Nobody told us this. Dad became more and more lethargic over the following few days. Mum twice found him asleep at the dining table with cold
food in front of him, the second time also down his clothes. A week after his arrival, Dad was admitted to hospital with reduced urinary output, a urinary tract infection, hypernatremia and enlarged kidneys. He spent 14 days in hospital and then having been discharged back into the care of the home, he passed away 10 days later, a little over 4 weeks after his initial arrival at Bispham Gardens. Adult Social Care investigated and upheld a Safeguarding concern, which they reported to the CQC. The home accepted that they should have made GP contact sooner than they did. I make no specific complaints or allegations. I state facts. I would not recommend this care home.

My husband has been twice for respite. He was treated with respect and kindness. The staff were wonderful, he settled no problem. From my point of view, I was very content leaving him there. The place is clean and bright with a lovely atmosphere. So very pleased I have found this gem of a care home.

I am only here for a short while this is my 16th day here. I have no experience of these places just heard lots of stories about them. From the time I arrived I have found the home brilliant the staff at all levels are helpful, polite and friendly and willing to help in any way they can even if it's
not in their job discretion. If I was ever in the situation where I need to be in a home long term I would certainly try and get a place here. If any staff read this, thank you.

My mum was a resident for nine months from residential through nursing to end of life. During these final months, she was very happy here and the residents and staff became her family - giving her care and love to the end. Thank you so much. I am forever grateful.

I stayed at Bispham Gardens for 3 months after having my leg amputated. It was a very difficult time for me but the day and night staff could not do enough to help me and cheer me up. Anything I needed they provided. All the staff were helpful and very friendly. I felt so comfortable I could not fault
this home at all, to me it felt like I was living in a hotel after being in hospital. The home manager was very friendly and helpful and provided me with all the information I required so I didn’t have to worry about anything during my stay and was very supportive of me when I was feeling down. Thank you for making my stay wonderful.

As a family, we cannot thank Bispham Gardens enough for the excellent care they have given my mum during the past 6 months. Although she was not there very long it gave us great peace of mind (especially during these difficult times where we cannot visit our loved ones in person) to know that she was
in an environment where she was being very well looked after and more importantly was surrounded by people who genuinely cared about her. Bispham Gardens went out of their way to help us communicate with our mum via face time and our constant phone calls were always dealt with understanding and patience. Sadly our lovely mum passed away in January and although we were unable to be with her in her final hours it gave us much comfort to know that one of the lovely nurses who cared for her was with her and she was not alone. I would (and already have) highly recommend Bispham Gardens to anyone who has had to make the heartbreaking decision to put their loved one into a nursing home.

Sister had 7-day respite here - she has been very well cared for by the staff, who went above and beyond in their care for her and made her feel special. The manager is an absolute angel, could not have done enough for my sister. My sister is like a new happier version of herself thanks to you all.
The only negative was the fact she was only there a week, wish it was longer! This is the kind of place I would want for my sister in the near future. This is how nursing homes should be.

This home was fantastic in the latter stages of my nan's life. The staff were incredibly caring and made us all feel very welcome in a time that was difficult for us all, as we had to accept that she couldn't be cared for independently by ourselves. I could not recommend, Bispham Gardens enough. If
the need was ever there again, for a family member to need close care, I would not hesitate to use Bispham Gardens Again. The Team does a remarkable job in making everyone in your family comfortable with the level of care your loved one needs.

When we found Bispham Gardens it was an immense relief. We had thought that making the decision to find a residential place for a family member was the difficult part; we certainly hadn't appreciated how hard it would be to find a suitable one. We were immediately impressed by the clean, spacious, friendly
environment at Bispham Gardens and the professionalism of the Manager and her staff. Our mother/mother-in-law has received tremendous care and support from a team who have taken the time and trouble to understand her and her needs and have her best interests at heart at all times. Over the last few months, our regular video calls have kept us in touch and we are very grateful to everyone who has facilitated these meetings for us in such a thoughtful way. We can't wait to visit her again and thank everyone in person.

My husband has been a resident at Bispham gardens for 15 months, and it has been reassuring to know that he is well cared for and happy. It was a very hard decision to place him in a home, as we have been married 25 years, however it was a necessity due to his dementia, and whilst in there he has flourished
with the care and attention he receives at the home.
Although we cannot go into the home they continue to go out of their way to keep as much contact as possible with portal calls twice a week.
Although during this time where the staff will be concerned for not only the residents' health but their own, this has never shown and they continue to answer any questions with a smile.
They really are the Care in Care home, and I send a big thank you to all the staff.

We moved our lovely Dad/Grampy to Bispham Gardens after grave concerns over his health and welfare in the previous nursing home just prior to and during lockdown, so much so that we moved him in the middle of the Covid pandemic. Bispham Gardens was our only choice as we'd been highly recommended by
several people we knew who already had relatives there. Dad was very frail physically and mentally when he arrived at Bispham Gardens but within two weeks, the difference was just staggering. Dad had put 6lb on in just this short time, he was hoisted into a lovely comfy chair every day and moved to various lounges. He was dapper, clean, chatty and most importantly, visibly happy. Bispham Gardens staff are exceptional and apart from being a home, because that really is what it is, the place runs on true kindness, care and dignity. Our children actually asked if good care could really make that much difference. "Yes" is the answer. Our only regret is that we didn't move Dad sooner. Deep and lifelong gratitude to you all.

My mum is so happy and settled here. It truly is a home from home.


The home is light, airy, modern, lovely and clean and Mum has such a pleasant view out of her window, she spends hours watching the birds feed.


The staff are just marvellous and management will bend over backwards to help make

life as comfortable and as happy as possible.


The food is all fresh and lovely and the home baking is just fab...especially the scones!

My mother is being cared for in this modern, clean, bright welcoming care home. The management and staff treat all the residents with care and compassion, nothing is too much trouble, with visitors and relatives welcomed anytime.
In difficult times when your relative requires care and nursing, deciding
the best home, is very challenging. Choosing Bispham Gardens was perfect. I can not praise it highly enough.
The staff treat residents like their own, their dedication and commitment is amazing.
The building is bright, airy and immaculately clean. The outside gardens allow the residents opportunities to sit, bird watch and relax.
The food is varied and impressive and the daily/monthly activities keep residents occupied.
