My mother went to Tonbridge House for two weeks of respite care. She was made very welcome, had a comfortable room, loved the food, did lots of activities, met interesting people and, most of all, was very impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending
it.

This is the second review, I’m leaving for Tonbridge House as six months on from my mum’s admission there it’s just got better and better and cannot go unacknowledged.
This weekend, the team went above and beyond to enable my mum to attend my daughter’s wedding in Ashford. It took a lot of organisation
and preparation but absolutely nothing was left to chance or too much trouble and they worked tirelessly and diligently to ensure it was a complete success. From the moment she left Tonbridge House with her wonderful escort, we knew she was in safe hands. The memory of the joy we felt when we saw her looking radiantly happy at the ceremony is something we will treasure always. It was the best wedding present my daughter could have wished for and we shall be eternally grateful to everyone at Tonbridge House for making it happen. Thank you all very much.

To celebrate my father's 92nd birthday, the family decided to meet for a buffet lunch in the guest dining room. The chef was really helpful with all the practical arrangements - menu choice, timing, how we wanted the room arranged, on the day giving us time to put up birthday decorations etc. The celebration
went brilliantly - the food was absolutely delicious, with masses of choice and included a delicious birthday cake with candles. A great time was had by all. Would definitely recommend.

We are delighted with our experience so far at Tonbridge House. From our first enquiry, I was so impressed with the home, the information provided and the efficiency of the staff. As a family, we were in shock when my 94-year-old father was suddenly taken ill. It was wonderful to find such help and
support at Tonbridge House, to have a visit immediately arranged and my father moved here from hospital so efficiently and with such care.

My husband came to Tonbridge House Care Home for end-of-life care. We as a family could not fault the gentle, sympathetic and professional care he was given This same care was also afforded to all his family and friends who visited. His last three weeks were spent with dignity and careful nursing. I
cannot recommend the home and its wonderful staff highly enough.

On entering the care home, you are greeted by lovely, cheerful receptionists. The care staff who look after dear Mum are exceptional, they really care for her needs and most importantly, make her smile as she does miss her own home. The ladies and gents who organise the activities are excellent, always
coming up with some lovely original ideas for the residents to enjoy and have fun. 10/10 for them. The management are so helpful and resolve any queries I have had. My main concern is the turnover of staff, it unsettles the residents I feel. Are their wages too low? The bistro is excellent, Mum enjoys the meals.

Mum came to Tonbridge House in February 2022 after suffering many falls in her home. My sister and I decided it was unsafe for her to remain there. We were sad to make this decision but were so pleased to have a professional and welcoming. The staff are very kind and accommodating to her needs. The
recent Jubilee party was a joyful occasion.

We had to move my Dad into Tonbridge House due to his worsening Alzheimer’s and it was such a hard decision to make- but the staff at Tonbridge House were so helpful and guided us through the process to make the transition as smooth as possible. Dad has settled and they also make my Mum feel very welcome,
when she visits him. I like that they take an interest in the resident as well as their family, which benefits and helps everyone. All the staff are always willing and helpful when needed and are also on hand with answers to questions; we really have found Tonbridge House to be exceptional from the cleaners, maintenance, and laundry through to the care staff, nurses and management/admin team - everyone has an open door approach and always seems genuine, happy to help and listen to any issue that arises. I would recommend this home to others as I feel my Dad is safe and well cared for, providing me and My Mum with reassurance that we made the right decision.

My wife entered this care home direct from hospital where her care had been very poor. All staff at Tonbridge House Care Home went out of their way to welcome my wife and have continued to do so ever since. The admin staff and the carers and nursing staff make great effort to ensure that she is comfortable
and are very kind and considerate and put extra effort in every time they see the need to do so. They are also very understanding of the special needs of both the resident and their families. It has also been difficult for myself and the rest of our family but the staff continually check on our well being and make sure that we are able to continue our lives without having to worry about the care and comfort of Mum/wife. Whilst it is a scenario we did not expect, it is a great relief to know that care both for her medical requirements, and her personal comfort and understanding of what is happening to her is well catered for. I would have no problem in recommending Tonbridge House Care Home.

I have been involved with this care home for about 3 and a half years since my wife became a resident. The home has been what my wife needed as she had a stroke in May 2017. She is so well looked after and even though it is difficult for her the staff make her as happy as she can be. One of the best
things is that a lot of the staff have been there since she first joined so they know my wife really well. Her room is well looked after and there is always a very good atmosphere wherever you go.

Dad entered the home during covid. All the staff fully and compassionately supported the whole family, during this time. Dad is extremely well cared for, both emotionally and physically. All the staff are friendly, kind and always happy to talk to Dad and the family at any time. Knowing Dad is well
cared for gives us all peace of mind and enables us to enjoy our precious time with him. The receptionist is amazing. She always gauges my mood, is very supportive and always manages to make me smile.

Hello, my name is Josh Pearmain, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Tonbridge House.


I have been working in the care industry for six years now. Tonbridge House is a very warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere to work in, and I love watching the team show genuine kindness and compassion to our residents.


My role is to give all the necessary information to anybody looking at care options and to help make the admission process as stress-free as possible. I enjoy meeting with families and discussing how we can best care for their loved ones and enable them to continue to lead an active and varied life once in our care.


Outside of work I enjoy most sports and am a regular at Tonbridge Angels football matches, although my preferred team are Brighton and Hove Albion! I also have a lively dog who I like to take on long walks with my wife.
