Management could be more helpful. Carers are all very good even when they are busy. Activities are varied to suit all needs in the home. Food seems to be liked by the residents. Families can have a meal, if booked, as well, though the food could arrive a little warmer than it does. Most residents seem
to be very happy.

Since my mother in law moved into Astbury Manor, she has become a different person. She is joining in all activities and is being given choices with every aspect of her life. The staff are amazing, always smiling and laughing from reception right up to the staff on each floor. The Chef produces remarkable
award-winning food which is made with love and care. The well-being staff are heroes and are absolutely amazing when they interact with the residents. The trips out cater for all residents hobbies and interests which can be seen on the home's Facebook page. This is also a fantastic page to visit as it gives relatives like me an insight into what my mother in law gets up to rather than her saying “I can’t remember”. Nothing is ever too much bother and the Home Manager, Deputy Manager and Head of Units are so approachable and really are a credit to Avery Healthcare. Thank you for making my mother in law so happy and enjoying life again.

Five star care within a luxury but homely hotel like setting.
Words cannot express the significant improvement that I have seen in my mother since moving into the care of Avery and Astbury Manor.
There are always plenty of activities going on with outings, indoor activities and regular exercise classes.
There are also individual person-centred activities.
The skills and knowledge throughout the staff teams shine through from reception through to management, not only with the dementia care but also with the understanding of other additional life-changing disabilities.
Mother’s individual care needs have been carefully documented and then subsequently executed with perfection.
I can now relax knowing that my mother is being looked after.

We picked Astbury Manor from seven local homes as it seemed the best. We ahve not been disappointed and neither has Dad.

An excellent home of a standard that everyone should be able to enjoy when the need arises. It is expensive but the care is first class.

December saw many great activities for the residents. The activities lady worked hard with no assistant.
We had New Year's day dinner in the private dining room, this was wonderful. Well done to the chef and all for your excellent service. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.318)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.318) out of 10 for Astbury Manor Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.903 for Astbury Manor Care Home - Avery Healthcare is calculated as follows: ( (84 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.903

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.415 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Astbury Manor Care Home - Avery Healthcare is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.615

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
