This was the second time that my nephew had stayed at Rectory Court for respite care. Throughout, he was given an exemplary care in difficult circumstances as (following a stroke) he had almost no cognitive abilities. But he really enjoyed the excellent food!! Unfortunately, he collapsed and died suddenly
one night during his stay. Everything possible was done to help both him and us. Thank you for your kind and lovely care.

My mother was extremely well looked after. The home is more like a hotel than an institutional home and the residents are treated like people. The staff take the trouble to find out the interests of the residents and try to build a variety of activities around their interests. They even organised some
members of a bridge club to come for an afternoon to play bridge, knowing that one one of my mother's real interests, even though she was only in for 12 days respite care while I went away. Mealtimes are sociable with residents going down to the dining rooms to eat, this is a good opportunity for residents to get to know each other.


My mother is not yet frail enough to need to be in a home but she enjoyed her time there and said that she would happily go again if I wanted to go away on holiday. This takes a tremendous weight off my shoulders. Thank you to all the staff for being so friendly, welcoming and making her feel part of the community.

Mum went for respite care and we were both a bit uncertain about what to expect. However, all our worries were completely unnecessary as all the staff and management are absolutely amazing. Care is second to none. Food is delicious and nutritious. Mum was only booked in for a short stay but when I went
to collect her she wanted to stay longer. Management were very accommodating and Mum stayed for an extra week. All in all, the best move we have made as a family as Mum is very happy and safe and we are able to have a break.

The staff have been wonderful, encouraging my sister to eat more and even the chef finds ways of tempting her appetite. They encourage her to socialise, but in a very gentle, caring way. Rectory Court is great.

My Dad (91 and recently bereaved) had had a couple of falls and had been in hospital for several months; becoming institutionalised, self-centred, grumpy - he'd lost his mojo.
Since going to Rectory Court he has been quietly encouraged to come out of his shell and to engage with the other residents,
not least at mealtimes and in the activities laid on such as in-chair keep fit and sing-alongs.
There are regular resident and friends get-togethers in which all are encouraged to give feedback to the management who, incidentally, are very visible and active on the "shop-floor" and not confined to an ivory tower.
The staffing level is high and there is a good-humoured atmosphere whilst maintaining a solid foundation of professionalism.
I am confident that this image is not just cranked up when visitors turn up as I often arrive unannounced and the ambience is constant.
In conclusion, I am comforted, relieved and confident that my Dad is in the right place.

From the first look at the brochure, meeting the managers, then visiting Rectory Court, I was instantly charmed by the warm welcome and beautiful décor and furnishings in my potential new home. It didn't take very long to realise I would be very happy, comfortable and safe in these surroundings.
I
am so well cared for, I enjoy delicious, freshly cooked food every day with a varied menu. Fun activities and rest when I want to in my beautiful room. I've made new friends and feel relaxed and confident that I am being cared for by a professional team of managers and carers with a friendly and personal approach.

I was the first patient and I was treated like a queen - what a privilege! There were one or two teething problems which were quickly resolved. All the staff without exception were quick to respond when I called for help.
The croissants were to die for and all other menus were delicious.
The manager
was always most helpful and staff always cheerful and efficient. My first carer was great, fun and we bonded instantly.

My 83-year-old father stayed at Rectory Court for 4 weeks to recuperate from hip replacement surgery. From the moment he arrived straight from the hospital, the care was exceptional, the staff are kind and friendly at all times - they couldn't do enough for him. Not only did my father recover well under
their care, but the peace of mind for the family that he was being looked after so well was priceless. Thank you.

I was recommended to look at Rectory Court as a care home for my Mum who was no longer able to look after herself fully. I was immediately impressed with the layout and decor of the care home and thought that this would be ideal for my Mum. We decided to place her at Rectory court on respite to see
how she would feel. She loves the place and more importantly the staff who are warm and friendly whilst at the same time very professional. They attend to her needs and certainly go more than the extra mile. There is a lovely feel when you walk in, as the staff seem to be able to generate this warm and caring atmosphere for all to feel. Having visited a few other homes in the area all I can say is that Rectory Court is exceptional.

My father has been living at Rectory Court for two months now and has experienced a very high level of care and attention. The building is newly refurbished to a very high standard, and there is a lovely garden and patio area. All the staff I have met are both caring and knowledgeable, and the food
is excellent. We have received plenty of feedback via phone and email whenever any decisions have been necessary, and we are made welcome whenever we visit. Most importantly, Dad has settled in quickly and is happy.

What I do:
I am the General Manager of Rectory Court, as such I have the overall responsibility of the home with the support from my team. My role can vary from day to day and no two days are ever the same .


My experience:
I have been working in the care industry for over 30 years, starting as a care assistant then going back to further education to become a manager first for Suffolk County Council and then into the private sector. I have a passion for Dementia care and hold an advanced Dementia training qualification in addition I have a Dementia mapping qualification which I undertook with Bradford University.


About me:
I am 55 and have been married for over 30 years to Adrian a teacher, I have two sons Tim and Tom both currently studying at university. I am a highly competitive person who likes to succeed. I love to shop and find a bargain!

I’m the Deputy Manager for Rectory Court, supporting the Manager in the smooth operations of the home.

I have 27 years’ experience in the health & social care sector, working in learning disability services as well as elderly care. I am also a qualified tutor and have taught many subjects within the sector. Starting as a care assistant, I have experience in almost all roles within social care.


About Me:


I relocated to the Kent countryside 4 years ago, and live a less stressful life in West Malling, with my husband of almost 2 years. I did make him wait 11 years before I finally said yes! We share our lives with our two cats. I enjoy the quieter life, and we spend a lot of our spare time walking and discovering new areas of Kent.

I’m Home Admissions Advisor for both Leah Lodge and Rectory Court. I started with Cinnamon in 2019 and more recently I am part-time due to having two small children at home.


I help families and potential residents through their journey of considering a care home for their loved ones. I consider it a privilege to be able to advise people on such a difficult and emotional journey.


I have worked in care now for 7 years and my role is a varied and enjoyable one. Previous to this I was an estate agent, working in different roles around the property for the majority of my career.


I am originally from the Wirral and I moved to London with my husband in 2015 due to a promotion for him. We now have a 5-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter who keep us busy most of the time. We enjoy going on holiday and socialising with friends whenever we get the chance.

What I Do:
I’m the head chef here at Rectory Court I started as a 2nd chef and was delighted to become Head Chef; my role now is to work closely with my team and all our residents to provide a nutritional and healthy menu with the odd treat. I liaise with our residents to find out their likes and dislikes and provide an alternative meal of their choice if they wish. Me and my team will always aim to please and provide a good dining experience.


My Experience:
I have 6 years of experience working in catering and have enjoyed every moment, learning new things all the time. I have a BETEC level 2 in hospitality and catering and an NVQ level 2 in kitchen services and food safety.


About Me:
When I’m not working I spend time with my three sons and visiting my family, I like socialising with my friends and having a good meal out with somebody else cooking.
