Snowdrop House in Ware delivers a full range of care services for older people, including residential, dementia and nursing care and respite services. The purpose-built home combines high-quality, personalised care with a luxurious lifestyle.

The home is bright and airy, with its own hair and beauty salon, café and cinema room. Each bedroom is individually styled with its own en-suite facilities. Many rooms also offer direct access to the beautiful gardens.

The dedicated team supports residents to continue enjoying a range of daily group and one-to-one activities, all tailored to their interests. If they wish, residents can also keep busy with light tasks around the home, from laying the table for lunch or helping in the gardens.

    other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
    an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I visited Snowdrop House daily for approximately 2 years. Very welcoming atmosphere from all members of staff. If needed management always available to help and advise. If any issues arose they were rapidly solved.

My aunt was transferred to Snowdrop House directly from the hospital. She was cared for and very settled here, although her stay was brief. Staff were kind and attentive; we were very grateful. The stay was well managed through Covid times.

My mother has blossomed and changed so much for the better. She is well cared for and is happier than she has been for a long time. It is easy to approach and talk to the staff. Any problems can be sorted via phone/e-mail or direct contact. As a family, we are grateful to the staff for all that they

Mum was admitted to Snowdrop House after a lengthy period in hospital. She has complex medical needs and dementia. We were very concerned as a family that she would settle and be happy. We had been delighted that Snowdrop had welcomed Mum but really the proof of the pudding was how well she settled
in. We were quickly reassured. The care/nursing team are incredible. Mum's needs are not straightforward and need careful managing. The team were eager to understand and make sure that they met these needs quickly. The activities team spoke to Mum and the family and made tremendous efforts to help Mum acclimatise to her new home. The food is of very high quality and Mum is offered delicious and varied meals every day. A special culinary highlight are the BBQs during the Summer. In summary, we have been delighted with the professional, empathetic, dignified and kind care that Mum has received. We would not hesitate to recommend Snowdrop House to other families.

My mother has been well cared for at Snowdrop House. She has been treated with respect and her individual needs have been regularly reviewed. Her Care Plan has been updated in consultation with both my mother and myself. I have found all the staff I have spoken to be concerned and helpful. This is particularly
so of the senior nursing staff on her floor, the managers and receptionists. The activities on offer are normally stimulating and my mother loves them. The excellent activity team have tried to maintain a programme during this challenging time. A ‘resident's companion’ has recently been appointed who is providing much-needed companionship, taking my mother out into the garden and sitting and talking to her. This has helped my mother feel less lonely at a time when we are unable to visit and is a great comfort. Recently when my mother became seriously ill, the nursing staff were quick to call out the Doctor. Thank you everyone for your continued care during these difficult times.

Grandad was admitted to Snowdrop House in an emergency from the hospital falling a fall at his home. The management staff at Snowdrop went above and beyond to sort things out in a timely manner. Grandad has settled in well, making friends with other resident and staff. We receive regular updates from
staff and Grandad well-being and activities. It seems Grandad is the happiest he has been in years and is enjoying life in these unprecedented times.

My father in law spent five months in the care of Snowdrop House, I must commend all at Snowdrop House for the care and support he was given during his stay.
During lockdown it was a very trying time for all concerned but we can't fault the care he was given, the home remained COVID free which is a
credit to them in itself. My father in law had a couple of difficult times in there with his illnesses and they treated him with respect and care each time. If he should have to return to full-time care Snowdrop House would be first on the list, I would be very happy to recommend the care home to others.

Snowdrop House is a very happy home. There are lots of residents that need attention and the carer's job is quite busy. The staff are very kind and helpful as a resident that is not here as a permanent resident. I may have been here for 14 weeks once I am ready to care for myself. I will be leading
with great regret for the treatment I shall be leaving.

My father lived at Snowdrop House for two years. It became his home. He made friends with other residents and really enjoyed the many activities provided by the activities team. Through their enthusiasm, dad played golf, bowls, scrabble, dominoes and went out on trips whenever possible.
Dad received
excellent care from everyone and was able to enjoy his life once more with the kindness, considerate approach and enthusiasm of the staff. He loved being out in the garden soaking up the sun, doing a bit of gardening and singing at the many themed events organised and run by the activities team. My brothers and I cannot thank you enough for the comfort, kindness and wonderful attention that Dad received.

My mother-in-law went to Snowdrop House for her second respite care in the last 12 months with the view to making her residency permanent. She had made friends with residents and staff and was extremely well cared for by the staff. During her stay from July to August, Mother became ill due to her advanced
years. She was 94 and sadly she returned to Snowdrop for end of life care. Everybody involved in this care was so professional and compassionate. My mother-in-law passed away with dignity in Snowdrop House - a place where she felt at home amongst friends and family.

For me, to visit my dad unexpectedly and see him so well cared for every time leaves me with so much peace and gratitude. I have truly nothing negative to say about the care my dad receives at Snowdrops.

My friend was admitted on emergency respite form discharge from hospital. Since arriving at Snowdrop, my friend had settled in well. Staff are caring, proficient in the care and understanding of my friend's dementia and health.

I have 20 years of experience in the care industry, qualifying in Cambridge and specialising in respiratory and end-of-life care. I have undertaken a wide variety of roles across the country, from care case manager for the East of England to working in the prison service, in hospitals, care homes and with people with challenging behaviour.


My favourite part of the working day is motivating my team to ensure the residents are our main focus of the day. Together we create memorable moments, laughter and joy with them.
