On behalf of Layston Grove, I would like to thank you for your feedback. At Halcyon Care Homes we treat all feedback as a means to develop our homes. We take on board your feedback regarding the microphone system in use in our Garden Room and whilst this has worked effectively on most visits, we will of course source alternative systems for those who may not be able to use this.
It is fortunate and exciting that in the near future we may not require such devices to be used as the Covid-19 restrictions continue to ease and more visits can happen on a face-to-face basis.
I would also like to thank you for the feedback regarding the activities in the home. The Lifestyle Team work hard to develop a varied plan for the home on a week-by-week basis, however, we recognise that not every activity will be to everyone’s taste. We continue to develop the programme in the home with the residents’ personal views, wishes and interests at the heart of this.

I have worked in care for 19 years, it was my first job when leaving school and I started as a laundry assistant as I was not old enough to be a care assistant at the time. I joined the care team as soon as I was able and soon worked my way up to care team manager, then deputy manager.
I have worked for the Royal Mencap Society supporting adults with learning disabilities, and as a care practitioner, managing a rehabilitation unit for the elderly as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
I joined Layston Grove in September 2019 when we relocated to Buntingford.
I enjoy working in care as I am passionate about improving the lives of the elderly, I am presented with different challenges daily which keeps me busy and the job fresh and exciting.
