Timken Grange is located in the village of Duston and the home is purpose-built and finished to a very high standard. The home continues to welcome new residents for permanent and respite care. The home is built on the site of the former British Timken Factory.

Timken Grange is proud to have achieved Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) accreditation to provide personally tailored support for veterans.

The home provides friendly and comfortable residential and dementia care for up to 66 residents in single en suite rooms with wet room provision. Timken Grange's facilities include a cinema room and a coffee shop area as well as cosy, quiet lounges where residents can relax and socialise.

Putting residents at the heart of everything they do, the dedicated care team at Timken Grange spend time getting to know their residents, and work with them and their loved ones to create detailed care plans that ensure their needs are met, now and in the future. They strive to ensure all aspects of the service provided is focused on individual and compassionate care, with respect and dignity at the forefront.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Timken Grange for 5 years and seems happy there. I think the running of the home has improved over the last year or so. The staff are friendly and helpful and regular social events are arranged including some for families and visitors. We visit at different times
a day and always find a welcoming atmosphere.

Came to enjoy a summer BBQ with my children and their great granny. Staff were diverse, fun and elective, the songs work for all ages. Food is delicious, fresh and clean with plenty of choices. A truly delighted day had by all. Thank you.

My husband is looked after here much better than having carers at home and I know he is safe from wandering away. His every need is met by the friendly staff over and above expectations at times. he enjoys the company of residents and staff and really has time to watch TV. He tells me he is always at
work and sometimes it's hard to convince him otherwise. Thank you for looking after him so well.

My mother spent 8 weeks here having respite care following her release from hospital, during that time she could not fault the care and help she received from the staff. Their care and support enabled her to recover sufficiently to return home.

The staff at Timken Grange were so kind and caring to my grandmother during her respite stay whilst recovering from a fractured hip.
She had a comfortable and enjoyable stay, nothing was too much trouble and she was treated with genuine dignity.
The lifestyle team were excellent and got her involved
in lots of suitable activities, including a trip out once she was mobile, which really helped her mental health.
I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.

The team at Timken Grange are amazing! They take amazing care of my Dad and really make it feel like home from home. He's really blossomed and made lots of new friends. The team support me too in managing his medical needs, often taking Dad to routine appointments and managing meds. It's a great solution
for my Dad and takes a weight from my shoulders too. I would highly recommend.

My father moved to this home at the end of March 2023.
The welcome we received as a family was second to none, from the guided tour whilst we were looking for a home for him and on every occasion since.
The staff are so welcoming and caring and the atmosphere they create is just like being at home
with your loved ones.
They have every facility you could possibly need including hairdressers, a cinema room, a library and more and put on functions for the residents and families to get involved in as they wish.
My father has settled in really well and I have no worries that he is being looked after by a first-class team who go above and beyond for everyone.

The home and its staff care for residents like they are family. It's a welcoming place and everyone is treated respectfully and the care is excellent. My father moved here after a terrible experience in a previous home and the staff have been able to restore him back to who he once was. They also care
deeply about the families of residents which helps to make the transition into care so much easier for all concerned.

My father was a resident at Timken Grange for just short of two years, entering during the difficult times of Covid restrictions, when he felt he needed more care and support around him. Despite the difficult timing, at no point during his stay have I had a moments worry that his health and well-being
were not at the forefront of everyone’s mind at Timken Grange. The team are all friendly, cheerful, dedicated and work so very hard, making a home from home atmosphere, for both residents and their families, with an array of stimulating options on offer for those that wish to partake in them. I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful “Home” and hope I am as lucky to find such a place for myself when the time is right.

Stepfather has blossomed again after going into Timken Grange. He has recovered his enjoyment of life and his fine sense of humour has returned. He is clearly very well cared for by the team and enjoys their company. He has been introduced to a group of male residents and gets on well with them all,
friendships becoming stronger. This was a very positive proactive action by the care team. Many thanks... we no longer need to worry about Stepfather!

After moving my mother into Timken Grange in September 2022, I immediately knew I had made the right decision. Having suffered from dementia and other ailments, sadly my mother was put on “end of life” care at the beginning of April. The care, love and support my mother received after this was exceptional
and it wasn’t only extended to her it was also extended to us as a family. All the team involved over the last few weeks worked around the clock to ensure my mother was pain-free and comfortable in her final days. They sat with my mother 24/7 and even when I was with her they sat with me and showed me unconditional support. I have come to look upon many of the staff as friends for life not just my mother's carers. Sadly, my mother passed away on the 18th of April 2023 but I am so grateful she got to spend the last few months of her life at Timken Grange.

My mother lived at Timken Grange from February 2019 until she passed away in January 2023. The care staff have always been excellent, and over the last two years following a change of manager, the home has made amazing strides forward and is now a wonderful place to be.
My mother suffered from dementia
and could be quite challenging at times, but was always very well looked after and encouraged to participate in activities in an appropriate manner. The home even kindly arranged for one of their staff to bring my mother to my wedding and stayed with her throughout the day to make sure that she enjoyed it to the full.
The home also has a policy of developing and promoting staff from within, so I have no doubt that the ethos and quality of care will continue well into the future.

The home is very welcoming. You can tell the staff care for their residents. My mother-in-law was in the home for 4.5 years. The atmosphere is so much better and well-run since the new management came in. The staff went out of their way to go to the shops to get certain things for my mother-in-law to
eat, as she was deteriorating. We planted lots of her favourite plants in the garden for her to look out on as she sat next to the window. We maintained the garden with my mother-in-law's advice. It gave her a purpose in life.

My Dad went into Timken Grange in mid-June 2022 and unfortunately passed away peacefully on 24th August 2022. Not a long stay, but I visited my dad many times during his stay and was always extremely happy with the care my dad received. His room and his clothes were always clean and communal areas were
amazing, with staff on hand at all times if Dad or I needed something, or just advice. There was in my opinion an obvious and positive culture of care for both residents and relatives/friends visiting, being driven correctly by the management team. The staff I met were incredibly supportive to me and is something I won't forget. Timken really looked after my dad.

My Father in Law is currently a resident. The care he has received has been phenomenal! Nothing is too much bother and they care for both myself and my husband as much as him.
Watching the staff having a quick brainstorm session as to get the best from him and to give him care was fascinating to
watch. A quick seed of an idea and lists and ideas were being put together to help him with his condition.
I moved him from another care home and I did have some doubts but within just a short period these worries melted away. I cannot praise this home and the staff in the home enough. They go above and beyond in every aspect.
My Father in Law is not at the moment joining in any activities, through his choice, but they still make sure he is included.
I have never seen any of the staff looking worried, apprehensive, or anything other than upbeat and positive.
First class home. First class service. First class staff!

Timken Grange is a good care home and long may it continue. The staff have a positive attitude, which is vital in this environment. We'd highly recommend staff incentive services to assist with this. Suggestions - allowing family to join residents for meals, maximising best practice approaches to decrease
personal odours in the common areas - installation of air conditioning.

Hi Paul, Thank you for taking the time to review our Home, just so you are aware, Due to Covid restrictions we have been unfortunately prevented from inviting family into our home for meals. However, we have recently held a family forum meeting and families were informed we are now offering families a booking system to join their loved ones for meals. This is already in place and you are able to book in as of Monday 12th September. For details and bookings please call the home directly. We also do have air conditioning in the building, it did struggle during the adverse temperatures we have had of recent. I am sorry you have witnessed smells during a visit. Again we do manage these, however, as you can imagine, short-term smells are unavoidable and we do once identified, eliminate smells promptly. Thank you so much for your suggestions, all suggestions are reviewed and actions taken where possible to improve our service.

It has been a couple of months since my father passed away. However, it has enabled me to thoroughly consider the outstanding care that was given to my father. On May the 8th 2022, I flew in from New Zealand not knowing what to expect at the care home. I was greeted and immediately made welcome in a
challenging situation for me. My father had been quite ill for some time, but it was apparently clear that the end was imminent. I also understand that my father had been quite challenging for them, but they dealt with him with considerable understanding. This team of staff were professional, understanding and extremely helpful. The care home itself, I found to be very clean and comfortable. In most jobs, we are allowed to finish work, go home and forget and have a cup of tea, but the care staff, that are dealing with end-of-life situations on a daily basis go above and beyond. I am extremely grateful for their very kind words and understanding. I cannot say how grateful I am.

Mum was moved from her beautiful 4 bedroomed detached house into Timken Grange on June 1st 2022. Mum and I had visited the home on two occasions to get a feel for it and both times fell in love with the place and the people working there. I live and work abroad so felt helpless when Mum needed to transition
into the home which she did with the help of her neighbour and a carer. From the moment she arrived in Timken Grange, everything has been just wonderful. The manager always has time for both Mum and myself especially when I have hundreds of questions and all the staff are so welcoming and friendly when both me and my teenage sons arrive to visit Mum. I have had a private meeting with the manager to set up phone calls between Mum and me when I return back to Cambodia and again she took the time to go through the information I wanted to share with her concerning Mum. I would just like to thank you all for such a wonderful job you all do taking care of my Mum.

Louise Mulvany

My name is Louise, I have four grown-up children and four grandsons, I have worked in the health and social care sector for 40 years,


I started my care journey when I was in the Girl Guides working towards my care badge, every weekend I would go to the local hospital and sit with the elderly patients and assist them with eating, drinking and read to them, after I earned my badge I continued to go every weekend until I was old enough to get a job in the care sector.


I started as a carer and have worked my way up. Since arriving at Timken Grange nearly seven years ago to take up a role as a senior carer I have progressed to medication manager, deputy manager, care manager and now home manager.


I am passionate about the care we provide, and our bespoke approach to each individual care needs which is provided by our fully trained care team. Whilst already having various qualifications within the sector, I am currently studying for a BSc Honours in Health and Social Care. I am excited to be utilising my skills and being able to further my career.


Being able to support my team, creating a great place to work and helping them embark on their own careers in care is important to me. I am driven by my passion for the elderly and providing exceptional care wherever I go. I am truly dedicated to the improvement and advancement of care techniques and delivering these in an environment that puts our residents at ease, thus allowing them to have their freedom and enabling them to live an enriched life.

I have a passion for care and do my utmost to ensure that all of our residents receive person-centred care to the highest standard. I am immensely proud to be part of the team here at Timken Grange.


I'd like to tell you what I do in my spare time, however, I have a very busy life as a mother of four children, so spare time is very rare. I love spending time with my family and doing the things that my children enjoy.

Caroline Rielly

I have worked as a Business Support Manager at Timken Grange since May 2022 and previously worked as the administrator for another Care Home in Wellingborough for 6 years, so have been in the industry for 7 years.

I worked for many years before this in the property business, and when I moved from London to Northamptonshire working in the care industry was a real eye-opener but saw it as a whole new challenge.


The way I see it is we will all hopefully get to old age at some point, and will then all need help and assistance, and I think it is lovely to see the residents continue to enjoy and have a good quality of life.


I am currently very happy in my position as Business Support Manager, but if ever there was a position that came up to be a Region Business Support Manager, I would be interested.


Emma

Emma Gardner

Job Title: Kitchen Manager

Emma is a proud mother to Lewis who is soon heading off to New York to do a 6 month placement as a chef. Emma loves to socialise, she enjoys a pint of Fosters, and spending time with friends and family, in her spare time. Emma goes out of her way to ensure all residents' nutritional needs are met and their taste buds tantalised. She is extremely funny and keeps the whole team entertained.


Hollie

Hollie Butcher

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping

Hollie is a proud mother to daughter Emily and loves to spend time with her whenever she has the chance. Hollie sings wherever she is in the home, thankfully, she has a nice voice. She is very thorough and organised in everything she does, and will turn her hand to anything that needs doing in the home, even decorating rooms, which she does to an impeccably high standard.


Mark

Mark Glazebrook

Job Title: Handy Person

Mark is a great asset to Timken Grange, he can turn his hand to most things and takes pride in keeping everything in the home in tip-top condition.


Mark loves to watch Formula One in his spare time. Mark has been around in Timken Grange since his father was cared for here, when his father passed away Mark decided to apply for the role of Handy Person, as he enjoyed being in the home. Mark hasn’t been with us long but he is already very much part of the team.
