The care at Avery Care Home in Wandsworth was superb. Hugely helpful when my dad was still in hospital, brilliant at liaising with us over my dad’s release from hospital and always kind, considerate and caring during my dad’s four-week stay.
Your staff in all departments made a difficult few weeks
easier not only for dad but for us all. We are hugely grateful.

My auntie has been at Wandsworth for over a year and we couldn’t be happier with the dementia staff, the overall running of the care and the facility at the care home. From the house keepers, to the reception, to the chief, all staff members have been fantastic. Without the home my auntie may not have
been with us now and we can’t thank them enough. I highly recommend them.

My mother has settled extremely well and is very happy. All the staff have been amazing. Everyone made an effort to get to know my mother and always greet her personally and checked if she needed anything. The care team, the housekeeping team and the activities team are all so lovely and so hard-working.
Nothing is too much trouble and they bend over backwards to help the residents and find something they will enjoy. There is good entertainment in the home (including lovely musical performances from pianists and violinists) and Mum has been taken on some very interesting trips and always feels safe and looked after.
The food is excellent - restaurant standard and all the staff in the dining room are also so friendly and caring.
The quality of the home is excellent, beautifully decorated and appointed. It is always spotless and the housekeeping and maintenance team work very hard to maintain it. I feel very safe in the knowledge that my mother is being well looked after.

A huge thank you. I don’t know what we would have done without you. The health of a close elderly friend I had been looking after suddenly deteriorated and we urgently needed to find full-time residential care. After a few care homes failed to even get back to me, we were lucky enough to find the Client
Liaison Manager at Wandsworth. She was just fantastic, very sympathetic, understood the urgency of our situation, and along with the Residential Care Manager went above and beyond to make everything happen and ensure a very swift and smooth transition to the home for my friend. The staff were wonderful – kind, caring and sensitive – which made my friend feel safe and brought her peace of mind at such a challenging time. Although no longer with us, I know she would want me to pass on her many, many thanks to all at Wandsworth Common Care Home who made her last few months so much nicer, surrounded by familiar and caring faces. Thank you for the kind support of the team in looking after me too!

The home is a lovely place with a great little garden and lots to do. My aunt is very happy with her bedroom and lounge and is gradually bringing her own things to make it more like home. She has taken a while to settle in but the staff have been very good with her, jollying her along when she has felt
low. On the one occasion when she had a fall in the middle of the night, they were very quick to take action and make sure she was seen by a doctor.

My mother came to Signature at Wandsworth for respite care following a stay in the hospital after a fall. She was very weak, unmotivated and not eating well. The superb staff at Signature renewed her zest for life, strengthened her up and got her to eat a healthy amount again. It wasn't an easy task,
but they managed it with great dedication and good humour.

I spent months searching for an assisted living community for my mother, who has dementia. As she was moving from her own home, it was important to find a place where she could be independent but supported, safe and cared for. Signature at Wandsworth ticked all the boxes. My mother loves her one-bedroom
apartment, and the Signature teams are warm, welcoming and caring. My mother now has new friends, daily activities, nursing care when she needs it, great food and a lovely environment.
It wasn't easy coming up with the funds. However, once my family worked out the cost of 24-hour care and compared it to all the facilities at Signature at Wandsworth Common, it convinced us we had made the right decision.

We have been very impressed with Signature Wandsworth. My mother is recovering from a fall and had not had the best experience in an NHS ward.
The staff here are wonderful and friendly. The food so far has been very good.
We are so relieved to get her into somewhere she can actually recover rather
than fester as she was in the care of the NHS.
She is encouraged to get moving independently again and also to join in the social activities - which after the loneliness of the lockdown stuff, is a great benefit to mental well-being. There is a great choice of things for people to join in with.
They also are very welcoming to visitors.
It feels like a nice hotel for recovery for her and has definitely brought a sparkle back to her eyes - would like to say a spring in her step, but that may take a few more weeks of recovery.

I have been extremely impressed with the facility so far. The staff are all polite and seem to genuinely care about the tenants. The home is very tastefully decorated and feels more like a five-star hotel than a care home.

My father-in-law moved into this home after a long period in hospital, and not only have they performed miracles with his health, but they also made it a very pleasant stay for him. They were always available for his needs and made him feel at home.
The kindness of the personnel is above any standard
I have ever seen, and the quality of the facilities is amazing.
Very good food every day, and loads of activities to watch or even participate in.

I just wanted to drop you and the splendid Signature team a quick note to say thank you.
In the short time that you helped us look after Mum, it was clear from the start that care and compassion were at the heart of what you all do.
Every single person, from the team on the front desk through to
the entertainment team, showed enormous sensitivity and tenderness towards Mum, which was a joy to see.

I came here on a short visit as had a broken my wrist. I spent nearly three weeks at Signature. It was a pleasant stay, and found staff very friendly and helpful. One staff member, in particular, knew answers to most questions I asked her, very helpful, 10/10. Another staff member also concealed very
good driving and always got me to my hospital appointments on time, 10/10. Excellent activities. Alwats plenty to keep me occupied 7-days a week at Signature - really excellent care home. Everybody very friendly - sorry to say goodbye when it was time to leave.

My father moved into Signature following 6-weeks in hospital with a very bleak life expectancy. Fast forward 10-weeks of my father residing at Signature, with the excellent care and support of the care team and management staff, my father is now in much-improved health and general life motivation, so
much so that everyone is preparing for him to come home in a few weeks and live with my mother again.
Moving anyone you love into a care/nursing home can be a time full of stress and emotion, Signature made the process as smooth, friendly and professional as possible from the first phone call, through to today... even assisting my mother and I to set up a care package with an independent at-home care company.
The care team and management staff always have time for the residents and always find time to check that the family are ok and to update us with father’s status. Every fine detail is considered to ensure the resident's health and wellbeing is being looked after. Highly recommend.

In December 2021, I visited Signature at Wandsworth Common as I was trying to arrange respite care so that my client could be discharged from the hospital. I was extremely impressed when I first visited Signature just before Christmas, and my client was discharged to Signature on Christmas Eve.
After
four weeks of respite care, that initial impression has been confirmed, and we have just completed a move from respite care to a permanent room as my client has for now decided to reside permanently at Signature. The management at Signature has been superb from the very outset. They have been totally professional and assisted every step of the way.
The care my client has received is second to none, the food is exceptional, and the all-round ambience is more like a five-star hotel than a care home. Signature is quite simply the best care home I have seen in over 30-years of practice as a lawyer, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

My mum moved in last month, having lived by herself in her own home for some 40-years. A few weeks later, and Mum is transformed; she is loving the experience of being a resident in Signature at Wandsworth. She has got all of her furniture and possessions in her lovely room, which makes it feel like
her home. The staff are all absolutely delightful, filled with compassion and professionalism, and nothing is too much trouble. She has been getting involved in some of the activities, and she is enjoying the company she now has with the staff and other residents. What is lovely is that you really can choose how you want to live your life in this home, how much time you want to spend in your room and how many of the activities you want to participate in. The food is wonderful. I can't begin to say how wonderful this new life is proving to be for my mum, and for me, as all the worries I had when she was living alone are now gone. Thank you so much to all of the team; you are wonderful!

I have been very content since my arrival in March last year. I'm getting to know people and routines. If I have any problems they are rapidly sorted by staff members. During this time it has been for me, a new experience, and I feel I'm coping quite well and it can only get better.

My mum stayed at Signature after she was discharged from hospital as I wanted her to be well looked after for a few weeks. Signature exceeded all my expectations in their care for my mum. The carers are exceptional; the food is exquisite, and the entertainment is wonderful. My mum loves it so much that
she does not want to leave! I do not need to worry about my mum at all while she is at Signature. If heaven has a care home, this would be it.

I am a Registered Nurse with 16 years of experience in frontline healthcare and, having worked in a broad range of settings I have developed a passion for exceptional service in the care industry.


I started my career in A+E having previously worked as a multi-site quality assurance Matron at Bart’s Trust and as Site General Manager at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital. More recently I have managed many nursing and specialist dementia care homes.


I look forward to meeting everyone who comes through our doors.

Having worked for eleven years in similar roles for other luxury care providers, I am thrilled to represent Avery Collection at Wandsworth Common as a Customer Liaison Manager. I have a track record of success, having taken a challenged home to its highest-ever occupancy in a previous role. As a Dementia Champion, I am also committed to helping those living with memory loss, having previously helped set up a regional Dementia Action Alliance with a local church.


Avery Collection are known as the best in terms of quality of care and quality of design, and in these areas as well as many others they are always one step ahead of other care providers. This ethos is one I share, and I am delighted to be working for the best provider in the business.


In my role, I am the first point of contact for families seeking care. I am dedicated to using my knowledge and experience to act as a guide and to help families through what can be a difficult time of life.


Avery Collection at Wandsworth Common is a truly special home, as this level of care is not usually available in such a central, accessible location. Residents will have a great range of facilities and attractions available right on their doorstep. I’m also excited to be part of such a technologically advanced, stylishly designed and luxurious home.

Job Title: Residential Care Manager

I started my journey in to care six years ago when I joined as a care assistant. I loved my role there and put my heart and soul into ensuring the residents were happy and enjoyed the quality of life they deserved. I was then promoted to lead carer with the responsibility of a team of 14 carers, which I continued to do for the next four years.


I would drive past Wandsworth Common every day on my way to work and thought maybe one day I may end up working there as it was closer to home. When they opened I applied as a care supervisor and was overjoyed to get the role as many people had applied. Six months later I was promoted to my current role as residential care manager and I’m loving every minute! I have a fabulous and very experienced care team around me and I also feel very supported from the management team in the home who are always go that extra mile to help and get involved. I am the type of person who will roll up my sleeves and help wherever I’m needed and knowing that all my residents are well looked after gives me a massive sense of satisfaction.


I feel extremely proud and honoured to work in such a beautiful home with a friendly atmosphere and great people.


Out of work I love to spend time with my family and friends. I have three children who have all grown up now and have their own families of which I am very proud. I also have two beautiful granddaughters, one 10 years old and one of 8 months, my family are the most important things in my life. Outside of work I love meeting with friends over a glass or two of bubbly as the perfect way to relax!

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager

Caring has always been a big part of my life, growing up I was the main carer for a member of my family which ignited my passion for the caring profession. This lead to me study nursing at university in Romania in 2009. After gaining my qualification and practicing in Romania for a few years I moved to England in 2015. I moved initially to Derbyshire where I worked as a carer for two years. After this I was promoted to the nurse’s assistant and subsequently lead all the training for dementia carers for that business. I am extremely passionate about giving residents the best care and most fulfilling lives. In my role as dementia care manager I am committed to continuous learning and also supporting my staff to be the very best they can be.


What I love most about my role is seeing how we are able to have such a positive impact on our residents’ day to day lives and seeing the smiles on their faces is the best feeling. Avery Collection is a fantastic company to work for and I feel very supported in my role and with any ideas I have to support our residents.


Outside of work I have a passion for sport with my biggest achievement is being Romania’s National Backstroke champion in the 100m.

Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor

I have worked in Housekeeping for over 10 years in private houses and nurseries. My whole life I have been looking after people from my mother to my own family. I really feel it is at the core of what I love to do and why I am so pleased to be working in the care industry. It’s a joy to come to work every day in such a family orientated home – my second family! There is always something different happening on a daily basis in the home. As housekeeping supervisor it gives me great pleasure to see how happy the extra little things we do makes the residents day and getting positive feedback about how the work my team does helps our residents daily lives.


When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with and looking after Grandchildren, reading books, walking around London and fresh coffee!
