Thank you from all of our family to everyone at the Spires for the care, respect and support you gave to Mom during her 16-month stay. We are especially grateful Mom did not have to spend her final days in hospital. The staff were very caring, friendly, compassionate and helpful nothing was too much

Wonderful caring, friendly staff. My mother stayed a week here for respite care. She was encouraged to take part in the great stimulating activities available to residents. The food was very good.
The home is extremely clean and the decor is more like a boutique hotel. The manager is also always available
if you need to speak to her.
A faultless home for respite care.

Reassuring and confident care for a reluctant relative. Professional team with lots of patience. Lovely surroundings with subtle decor.
From home assessment to admission I felt very reassured. The manager is outstanding in her approach. All supporting staff from nursing to reception were very friendly

My Mother had a lovely, spacious room upstairs which overlooked the well-kept garden. The staff are caring and encouraging creating a calm, friendly environment.
The quality of the food was very good and freshly baked goodies were available every day for both residents and guests.
We always got
a friendly welcome whenever we visited.
I would highly recommend The Spires to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

I found my experience of staying in The Spires Care Home very enjoyable. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful, the impression I was given was that nothing was too much trouble. The only concern I have is there does not seem to be medical help available for some health problems, not major health
problems but little ones. Altogether the experience of living in the care home was very good.

A lovely place. The staff were all very kind and helpful. I shall certainly recommend it for respite care. Not at The Spires Care Home long, so can't comment on the various organised activities but they looked good on the notice board. It was a very lovely place where people were well looked after.

I'll be honest, having looked after my mother myself for 5 and a half years I was both anxious and experiencing huge guilt when we went to look at The Spires as a possible 'new home' for my mother. From our very first visit, we knew this was going to be the place for Mum. Late-stage vascular dementia
is not an easy condition to care for and the team on The Spires Memory Lane gives each and every one of their residents' respect, care, and attention and it's no exaggeration to say, love.
Mum was only with them for a few months before she passed away, but she was always clean, comfortable, calm and felt secure, right to the end. We knew Mum was extremely distressed by her admissions to hospital and The Spires totally supported our desire for her to be cared for by them wherever it was possible, including her end-of-life care. As their manager told us "this is her home".

My father stayed at Barchester for respite care, and the staff were absolutely marvellous. Lovely building and surroundings, light and airy rooms. Lots of activities to do if you want and lovely, friendly staff. We will definitely return again, hopefully.

The Spires is an absolutely wonderful care home.
My father-in-law has settled in really well, and everyone is so kind and friendly. His room is bright and airy, and he says he’s never slept so well; the bed is so comfortable.

My father went to The Spires for respite after a short time in hospital; he was, unfortunately, unable to return home and has now become a full-time resident.
Managers have been so helpful with the transition to full-time care; nothing was too much trouble.
He has settled in well. The staff are
amazing, very attentive, caring and respectful to my father.
He thinks the food is excellent and always says he is very comfortable there.

The manager was very helpful in my initial contact, and when she came to visit my father before his respite stay, she put him at his ease and happily answered all questions. When Dad was first shown to his room, all the staff were very helpful and friendly and showed him where everything was. He enjoyed
his respite stay and said it felt like a holiday, especially the food in the restaurant.

Dad was admitted to The Spires with late-stage dementia. He was treated with respect and kindness, and during visits, I always felt welcomed and listened to.
When Dad passed away, the staff were incredibly supportive and helped me through a very difficult time.

Both my mother-in-law and father-in-law have resided at The Spires, my mother-in-law until she passed away and my father-in-law until he needed to go to a nursing home.
They have both loved living at The Spires, the building and facilities are beautiful and the care and staff have been wonderful. They
treated both with dignity and love and genuine care. The manager has gone out of her way to help us the family well above and beyond. Don't send your loved ones anywhere else, this is the best place.

I was in this home on respite for ten days in December 2021. The staff and care are exemplary, as is the food! I felt welcomed and looked after. I should have no hesitation in choosing this home if I ever need one.

My mother-in-law has just returned from another lovely respite stay - I can't recommend The Spires enough. The staff are always warm and welcoming and they put us at ease straight away.
The ensuite rooms are of a high standard and the lounges feel very homely and comfortable. My mother-in-law has
dementia and enjoys music, craft and puzzles, so the daily programme of activities is great for her and she has plenty of things that she can join in with.

I have recently had dealings with The Spires at Lichfield. The lady I act with Power of Attorney for, needed much more care than she could get in her own home. After an inspection visit to this home, and after hearing other good verbal comments, we quickly decided to take advantage of the trial (respite)
offer. She almost immediately decided that this was the place for her. All further arrangements have been facilitated very easily with help from the very approachable management team. I have had many questions and need for guidance, which have all been dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. Thank you to the staff. After my visit yesterday with her, she was over a month into her stay, she confirmed that to move here was a decision she wished she had made earlier and had glowing reports of all staff members. I know that being there will be excellent for her and make my role much easier.

Hello, I'm Lisa, the Deputy Manager at The Spires. I bring over 35 years care experience as well as bags of mischief!


I joined Barchester in May 23 as a Peripatetic Senior Carer supporting multiple homes across the Midlands region, and then in September 23 was thrilled to be appointed as Deputy Manager at The Spires.


I have worked in care since the age of 17, fulfilling my passion for caring for others, understanding their needs and providing first class care. I am L5 qualified in Healthcare Leadership & Management and I love nothing more than a good challenge.


I am definitely a people person and you'll see me bobbing around the home with a smile on my face.


Outside of work I am married with grown up children and house a naughty dog!
