Staff at The Spires are going above and beyond the call of duty during this very difficult time. My mother feels cared for and among friends. Despite not being able to receive visitors, she appears quite content - I would say happy - when I telephone. I cannot speak too highly of the care she is
receiving. My heartfelt thanks go to all concerned, from cleaners to nursing staff. You are stars!

My Godmother, mid-80s, moved up from London to Lichfield, at short notice, so we had to select a care home rather quickly. Barchester as an organisation arranged a meeting at a local home in London (when I was visiting for a flying visit), to speed the admission process, and from day one have been top
rate.
The Lichfield Spires is the best care home I have ever been in - the staff are friendly and the setting is beautiful. It really doesn't feel like a care home, more like a hotel complete with communal café and cake bar. Considering the massive change in my Godmother's life in recent months, she has been brilliant. She keeps telling me what a good job I did choosing The Spires. Respite care is available if you want to just try it out for your relative.
During recent weeks with the COVID-19 issues they have been brilliant, sending us updates, pictures, keeping us informed, arranging activities to keep the residents' minds active and positive, all within government guidelines.

From our first visit the sound of laughter and joy was apparent throughout the home. Over the last few weeks, everyone has been incredibly supportive, not only to Mum but also to my sister and I. The circumstances most of us find ourselves in are not easy. However, knowing the care, attention, and involvement
of all at The Spires have meant we are confident and comforted that Mum is excellently looked after as much as is humanly possible. Thank you.

I was admitted from hospital mid Summer 2019 when I was unable to stand and weight 5 stone. Since then, with good care and food, I am able to walk and join in most of the activities available. We are a happy crowd and the staff has kept us entertained during this lockdown period when of course, we miss
our families and visitors. All the staff has helped us to use tablets etc to keep in touch with the outside world!

We have been so impressed with the care at The Spires. The staff are so lovely, friendly, patient and kind. Nothing is too much bother. The accommodation is very good, clean, light and spacious. We are sorry that she is leaving but expect to be back. We feel that Mum is very safe in this place and treated

My husband came for one week's respite for the first time. This was very traumatic for both myself and my husband, but the staff took over and really put my mind at ease. They telephoned me to let me know that he had settled down. I phoned every day to check that he was ok and the staff were very patient
and reassured me that all was well. We will be using this service again.

From first contact, we were made to feel welcome. Mum was nervous and frail post-operation but all the staff were very kind, caring, thoughtful and sensitive to her mood and needs. Food, care, facilities all excellent and a lovely room. Only criticism would be a shortage of staff sometimes (noticed
by mum) and lack of communication between staff and occasionally between carers and mum eg no notice of early lunch at the garden party, a problem with medication as not registered with local GP, Confusion about the length of stay amongst carers.

The room and facilities, service, food and care were excellent. The carers were extremely efficient without being overbearing. I was there for a few weeks' convalescences and was very happy. Staff and residents very friendly.

My father went in on emergency respite.
We had already looked at the home. He was well looked after and enjoyed his time in the home.
He loved having a cooked breakfast, the company of others and enjoyed sitting with the mother and baby group. Staff seemed very nice but there was not many of them.

would put my father in here again.

I have worked in the care sector since I was 18, initially with young adults with learning disabilities, before specialising in elderly care.


I am passionate about improving the lives of our residents and making sure they live life to the fullest.


We are very lucky at The Spires to have a fantastic team of people who are dedicated to our residents. We value training and developing our staff to help our residents have a full and exciting life.

Hello, I'm Lisa, the Deputy Manager at The Spires. I bring over 35 years care experience as well as bags of mischief!


I joined Barchester in May 23 as a Peripatetic Senior Carer supporting multiple homes across the Midlands region, and then in September 23 was thrilled to be appointed as Deputy Manager at The Spires.


I have worked in care since the age of 17, fulfilling my passion for caring for others, understanding their needs and providing first class care. I am L5 qualified in Healthcare Leadership & Management and I love nothing more than a good challenge.


I am definitely a people person and you'll see me bobbing around the home with a smile on my face.


Outside of work I am married with grown up children and house a naughty dog!
