Woodlands Lodge is Formby’s hidden gem! Located close to the heart of Formby, it is the ideal home setting with a welcoming team of care professionals. The Lodge provides a range of residential care and residential dementia care services to residents over the age of 65.

Arranged over two floors, Woodlands Lodge provides a community setting where members can benefit from high-quality care, tailored to their individual needs. It has been specially designed to improve residents’ quality of life, through mobility and experience.

Fully equipped with high-quality furnishings and fittings throughout; each bedroom comes with an adjustable profile bed, call bell system, flat-screen TV, telephone, wireless internet access and ensuite wet room. There is a range of facilities from comfortable lounges, dining rooms, health & beauty salon, resident’s kitchen and outdoor spaces that are perfect for visits with friends & family.

Woodlands Lodge understands the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet and therefore, a carefully selected team produces home-cooked meals onsite daily. The resident's preferences and cultural or dietary requirements are incorporating into the menu and guests are able to join residents at mealtimes if there have been prior arrangements.

The Lodge has their very own in-house lifestyle and wellbeing team who organise a full schedule of daily activities and outings. They are dedicated to making their residents’ home a happy, vibrant and fun place to live! My godmother came to Woodlands Lodge on a short respite between moving house. The staff and general care have been very good throughout. My godmother feels safe and cared for at all times.

The transition to the care home for Mum was made really easy. The home liaised with third parties to make the whole process stress-free. Welcome on arrival made Mum feel at ease straight away. She is now looking forward to making new friends and joining in the many activities on offer.

Lovely facilities, very community oriented which is so nice to keep everybody busy and upbeat. My nan was a very particular lady so the fact she was so settled here was almost hard believe. She was fussy and only liked certain meals which weren’t often on the set menu however the chefs would always
accommodate her which was superb. Many a times I’d sit in the garden in the sun with my nan which was her favourite thing to do. A couple of members of staff in particular were absolutely outstanding with my nan - she adored them both. Staff were attentive, and gave my nan the round the clock care she needed. Thank you for giving her a home away from home. She loved to keep her door open so she could see the other residents and staff.

In 2021 I came over from the US to look after my mum who lived in Formby. She had advanced Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. I was only able to take care of her for a few months before I realised she needed more than I could do. I cannot tell you how grateful I was to Woodlands Lodge for the excellent
and empathetic care that they provided to my mum, making her life safer and more secure. I was able to go back to being her daughter and we had many great days until her passing in May 2023.

When we first looked at Woodlands Lodge we were told my mum should look at it as her home and not a home. The staff do everything to make her feel that. She gets up later in the morning and breakfast is brought to her room when she is ready. She would admit to being a fussy eater but thoroughly enjoys
the food provided. When she hasn't been feeling well, staff are happy to prepare something special for her. Staff are welcoming to visitors and are happy to talk about any concerns you may have at any time. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The facilities and staff have gradually enabled my mother-in-law to get over the trauma of her daughter's recent passing and having to move out of her own home. After finding it hard at first, she has been helped to adapt and accept having to now live in care and take advantage of all the benefits that
are available. She will be ninety-five in a few months so she has really done well to integrate, which is mainly due to the package this care home has offered her with its high standard of service.

Lovely friendly care home. Everyone is very caring and compassionate. The home has a calmness about it which is perfect for my Mum. The staff are always very helpful and nothing is a problem for them. The laundry is so well run, literally washed and hung back in the wardrobe the same day! The activities
really keep Mum entertained which is great and they’re seven days a week, twice daily! The food is lovely and if my mum wants something else that’s not on the menu it’s not a problem (within reason of course). If only all care homes were as good as this! Thanks Woodlands for being there for my Mum.

My lovely auntie went into Woodlands Lodge for four weeks and stayed two and a half years because Covid came and she couldn't go back to her home. My auntie was treated like a queen, always given excellent care and she loved the activities. All staff were excellent, from management to the DIY man and
kitchen staff. My aunt had a fall and was taken to hospital but when she was able to go back to the home, they were without a doubt excellent.

It was reassuring to know that Mum was well cared for. The staff went above and beyond to proved caring, stimulating and safe care for Mum during her stay. We are forever in your debt. Everyone was helpful, friendly and supportive to extended family as well as mum. The staff keep Mum well protected
during Covid. Mum tried out many new activities and looked forward to pamper days and inclusive games and being introduced to new activities.Mum was always treated with dignity, respect and her independence encouraged. Nothing was too much trouble. Can't thank the staff enough for the first class and superb care provided.

We had no experience of care homes prior to my brother coming up from Dorset. Woodlands Lodge was wonderful. As it turned out, he needed more care than they could provide but they went above and beyond to look after him in the four weeks he was able to stay whilst we looked for alternative care.
All
the staff, from the top down, were so caring, considerate and patient with him. I never heard anyone complain. My brother can be difficult at times. He was always treated with dignity, patience and kindness. The manager is excellent and so were the staff. Kind, humorous, friendly and vigilant. The care home is spotless.
Excellent cleaners and laundry, top-notch. The reception staff were excellent and informative. I would thoroughly recommend this very caring home.

Having worked in the care sector now for more than 15 years in various roles, the most fulfilling role has to be working with prospective residents, their family or their representatives. I find it most rewarding in helping to find the most suitable care home that will endeavour to meet the care needs of each new resident, along with show casing and promoting the many superb facilities each individual care home has to offer.


My main duty is just by being there every step of the way, helping to support families to take away some of the stress of trying to find the right care home for their loved one.


In my spare time I love nothing more than walking my cockapoo, travelling to different counties within the UK and visiting different countries to sample the different restaurants, sightseeing and experiencing different cultures, but most importantly spending quality time with family and friends.
